Frozen Pond Scene Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a scene card with a frozen pond in the woods that is an ice skating dream.

Pond:

Ink blend using a Silicone Fresh Ink on a extra heavy white card stock that is at least 5" long and 3" high.  Use a sweeping motion from one end to the other.  Spread Ranger Icicle across the card thickly.  Set aside to fully dry.  Usually takes up to 2 hours.

Trees:

Ink blend the first lightest green paper from the Lush Green paper pad with Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink.  Let dry.  Die cut the full trees from the Layered Narrow Pines.  Color the truck of the tree with a brown ink pen.  Die cut the half trees die out of the first light green paper, not inked.  Adhere the 2 die cuts together.  Add glue to the tips of the trees and then add Tim Holtz Rock Candy glitter to the glue.  Let dry.  Take a white Posco Pen and draw a figure eight in the middle of the paper.

Ice Skates:

Die cut the blades form silver paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad.  Die cut the heel from Woodgrain Kraft paper.  Use your finger to add Distress Walnut stain ink over the die cut.  Die cut the shoe from white card stock.  Add shading with Silicone Fresh Ink around the die cut.  Adhere the die cut together using the image on the envelope as a guide.  Thread using a blue cross stick thread through the holes.  Use tape to adhere the ends to the back of the skates.  Tie 2 bows with the same thread and ahead them to the top of the skates.

Snow Banks:

Fussy cut know banks out of white glitter paper from the Majestic Hues Glitter Pas.  Add a light blue/green alcohol marker to the furthest away hill.  Add a line on the next hill to create the appearance of 2 hills.

Sentiment:

Die cut the Merry Christmas Curled Script from the darkest blu from the Stormy Blue pad.

Assembly:

Take a white 5"x7" card. Ink blend the top with Distress Oxide Stormy Sky.  Splatter with water and white acrylic paint to create the appearance of snow.  Adhere the pond to the lower center of the card.  Adhere the snow banks on top of the pond. Add the trees to the upper snow banks.  Trim off the upper trees.  Adhere the sentiment to the lower left side of the card.  Adhere the skates to the lower right side of the card.

Hi Sara,
This is a beautiful card. I have read through the instructions on how you created the card. What a great idea to use thread for the laces! Can you please tell me what Silicone Fresh Ink is? I googled it and nothing has come up in the search.
Thank you, Tara
