Fresh Floral Chain by Jean Okimoto

Sunny yellows, soft greens and crisp white create a simple summer design. Add Fairy Jewels and and it's ready to go!  Hi,

Jean Okimoto here with a floral slimline - and some August Yellow Card Challenge inspiration.

Blend twisted citron, fossilized amber and squeezed lemonade Distress Oxides on a strip of Open Studio Watercolor paper.  Dry the inks, then lightly splatter it with Imagine's Gold Shimmer Spritz.  Set it aside to air-dry.

Cut Floral Chain from heavy white cardstock.  Stencil the centers with squeezed lemonade and fossilized amber - I punched a ⅜" circle from a scrap of vellum.  DIY vellum stencils are great - you can see what you're inking and have clean, crisp edges.

Cut Fresh Cut Stems from a light green 6x6 in the Lush Green Collection.

Diecut the inked watercolor paper with the 1-½" wide Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles die.  Trim the short ends with one of the larger dies from the set to create a custom-sized slim rectangle for your card.

Attach the Fresh Cut Stems (we're not using the other short stem) to the slim rectangle - trim the bottom of the big stem for the left side.  Attach the Floral Chain.  Add light green Christmas Fairy Jewels.

Congrats to the Cathy R, winner of the July Challenge!  Hope today's design inspires you to join our August Yellow Cards Challenge...good luck!

Thanks for visiting our blog - see you again on Friday...
