Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a Halloween card featuring some of the newly released fall dies. The new dies I used are:
1) Flying Witch 94624
2) Creepy Cabin 94634
3) Boo to You Posh Script 94587
Here's a close up look at my card:
To make my card I cut the witch and the cabin from both white card and glossy black card stock. This is very thick and nice black glossy card stock released earlier by Memory Box and it's such high quality!
In the picture below you can see both cabin cuts. The one of the left was cut right out of white card and left alone. The black one was trimmed out of the opening so I could layer it on top of the white one with liquid glue. For the background behind the cabin inside the opening, I ink blended a piece of white card with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink on the top half, and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide on the bottom half.
Next I took the smaller die from the Circle Basics 30087 set from white card that I had ink blended with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink. I glued that to the background for my night moon in the sky.
Below you can see me working on the cabins and the ink blending.
After gluing the black cabin over the white one, I cut the whole panel with a Stitched Rectangle Layers die 30009, and then used the same die and then next size smaller to create a glossy black stitched frame for my image. I mounted that whole panel on foam tape in the bottom right corner.
Next I glued the white and black witches together slightly offset and then added them to the card. I had to use foam tape on the left side since the top of the broom, her arm and leg are on the raised rectangle panel. This made it all even. I did the same thing with the sentiment, layered, raised up the part not on the rectangle with foam tape to make if all level on the card.
Lastly I added both Autumn Fairy Crystals and Autumn Fairy Jewels to the card. Memory Box has lots and lots of gems, jewels and crystals to choose from including clear ones. The are fall colors, winter colors, Christmas colors and clear ones that look like water droplets and the best part is the come in different sizes. Here's on last look at my card:
I had so much fun making this card. I like to make Halloween cards for my grandkids, even though some are getting older, it's always fun to receive a card in the mail no matter how old you are!
