Aloha everyone.  Today I’m sharing a simple summer card with a tropical vibe made with the Tropical Leaves 3D embossing folder (EF) and matching dies from the June Island Vacation release.

Bristol paper was used for all the white die cuts.  After die cutting the leaves, spritz them with water then embossed them using the EF.  Had planned on playing with alcohol inks (AI) on yup paper to create the background, but couldn’t find my yupo paper, so ended up doing the AI on  acetate technique instead (you may have noticed the reflection from the acetate 😉).  Drops of Pool and Mermaid AIs were applied to an A2 size piece of acetate, then rubbing alcohol and a hand blower were used to move the inks around.

The die cut Vintage Varsity letters were ombré colored next using turquoise dye ink and a blender brush before heat embossing them with clear glitter embossing powder.  Die cut the letters from black cardstock as well to offset for a drop shadow.  The periwinkle blooms were then colored with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey distress inks using a finger blender brush.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then added clear shimmer to the flowers to finish.

Wishing you all a wonderful week.  Thank you for joining me today.
