Leaves and Butterfly by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. Today I wanted to share a card that really highlights the new Tropical Leaves embossing folder with coordinating dies. I absolutely love the detail and texture you get with these items!

To create my leaves, I first cut out my leaves using a die cutting machine and green cardstock. Next, I lightly spritzed my leaves with water and placed them into my embossing folder and ran it through the die cut machine once again to add detail to the leaves. The light misting of water will give you better results. Here is a closeup of the leaf when it is just cut out next to the same leaf that has then been embossed. You can really see the detail you get:

Next, I ran my white cardstock through my die cut machine using the pinpoint leaf plate. I love the soft detail it gives you for a background because it doesn't detract from anything you layer on top of it:

As a final step, I added my butterfly on top of the leaves. I decided to leave off a sentiment because I want to have it as a generic blank card to add to my emergency card stash. Do you have one of those as well?
