Woodgrain Candy Totes by Jean Okimoto

Got chocolate?? Create sturdy Woodgrain Paper Pack candy totes for Easter celebrations with Gentle Bunny and mixed blossoms from Memory Box and Poppystamps. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a project that took on a life of its own once I started diecutting the flowers from Memory Box 6x6 Color Collections. No special treat tote dies required for these!

Score Kraft Woodgrain Paper (that's actually cardstock) lengthwise at 4-¼". Score it again at 4" and 4-½" and fold it on the 4-¼" scoreline. Attach the 3" x 4-¼" Rectangle Basics die to the folded cardstock - place the bottom short edge about 1/16" below the fold and cut the folded rectangle. Repeat twice.

Cut the folded rectangles with the 2" x ¾" Rectangle Basics die to create a handle - save one little rectangle offcut for each tote. Round the corners of the folded rectangle and the little rectangle. Crease the bottom of the tote to form a gusset for the candy.

Cut Gentle Bunny from white cardstock. Attach a 5mm pompom instead of the tail from the bunny set.

Cut Layered Star Flowers from 3 shades of pink in the Berry Red Collection. Cut the flowers again from 3 shades each of the yellow and orange Sunny Orange sheet. Cut 2 sets of the leaves from the Layered Star Flower set from a light green Lush Green Collection sheet. Cut the longer stem into 2 sections.

Cut the Poppystamps Flower Field Corner from dark orange and yellow sheets in the Sunny Orange set. Cut it again from a pink sheet in the Berry Red set. It'll form the pink, orange and pale yellow base layer of the flowers.

Attach the front half of the folded tab to the tote for spacing. Attach the Flower Field Corners - leave some areas un-glued to add the leaves. Add the leaves and a colorful mix of big and little blossoms.

Attach Gentle Bunny. Tape the chocolate inside the tote - Ghiradelli squares are a perfect fit. Close the tote and adhere the back half of the tab. Optional - you can also add a sparkly Fairy Crystal, Dewdrop or Gemstone to the tab to dress it up a bit - more handbag, less tote.

Mother's Day will be here soon...replace Gentle Bunny with more flowers or a heart if you're hosting Mother's Day Brunch. The design also works for bridal showers or wedding favors. Or anytime you want to share a bit of chocolate! The Rectangle Basics set includes 16 sizes - there's a rectangle for any treat!
