Friends Become Family
by Angie Cimbalo

Close use

Hello and welcome! It's Angie here today with this light and pretty card for a dear friend.

Here's a close up look of my card:

Close use

Here are the steps to make this card:

1) Emboss A2 panel of watercolor card stock with the "Blooming Sweet Pea" 3D embossing folder

2) Use one of the smaller "Stitched Rectangle Layers" dies and cut out of the center of the embossed panel

3) Add "Rose Gold Metallic Gilding Paste" from Cosmic Shimmer to the raised areas of the small embossed white rectangle

4) Cut a little larger rectangle with same die set from "White Woodgrain Card Stock", then swiped it also with the same rose gold paste.

5) Stamp the sentiment from "Friends and Family" stamp set in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and heat emboss in clear on a piece of vellum.

6) Add the vellum to some double sided adhesive, then trim the edges and add to the small rectangle (You can see the rose gold enhanced embossing through and behind the vellum."

7) Add the vellum + embossed rectangle to the woodgrain rectangle and then to the main large A2 white embossed card front panel.

8) Cut the "Glade Butterfly" die from black card stock and added to top left side of card

9) Add pink "Pastel Fairy Jewels" to the butterfly middle and in the corners of vellum

Here's another look at my card: Close use

I really like how you can see the light rose gold raised areas of the dry embossing peeking through the vellum heat embossed sentiment. Even though sentiment on this card is the focal point, it's nice to see the embossed patterned on the white background continue through to behind the vellum.

Here's one last look:

The sentiments in this stamp set "Family and Friends" are so sweet and there are a lot of them in the set.
I hope you enjoyed my card for today, I really had fun creating it.

Please be sure to stop by the Memory Box often to see the wonderful inspiration from out design team.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rainbow Poppies
by Trina Pham

2CE1B7EC-49CB-4706-B1DD-E2E028662509

Hello everyone.  Looks like Spring officially arrives tomorrow here in the northern hemisphere, so I thought I would welcome it with a cute rainbow floral scene card featuring the Enchanting Poppy Stems die from the 2022 Spring release.

There are two size poppies in this die set.  I used the small one to die cut all parts from white alcohol marker-friendly cardstock, then coloured them with Copic Sketch markers.  Did the same for the Wild Grass Border used to help ground the poppies, but in hindsight, it would have been quicker to die cut it from the Lush Green paper.

D42A6311-19C4-4BFD-B48F-96ACB78F63AC

Mixed media paper was trimmed to A2 size (5.5”x4.25”) next, then Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass distress inks were blended on with blender brushes to create the ground and sky, respectively.  The Hello Friend Posh Script was die cut from black glossy paper.  Assembled the card onto a white card base then added clear shimmer to the poppies for a bit of sparkle to finish.

That does it for my spring rainbow poppy card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Hi - Jean Okimoto here with some March Challenge inspiration on a floral slimline design.  The new Winsome Rose and Leaves Contour Layers set from Birch Press Design makes it easy to build detailed, dimensional blossoms with the Berry Red 6x6 Collection.

Creating intricate layered flowers is simple with our 6x6 paper collections and the latest release.  It's like paint-by-number - with colorful cardstock instead of a paintbrush!

MemoryBoxVerdantArch, MemoryBoxHexHalfPinpoint, MemoryBoxPinpointLeafPlate, MemoryBoxSignatureGreetingsClearStampsandDieSet, MemoryBoxBerryRed6x6, MemoryBoxLushGreen6x6, MemoryBoxAutumnFairyCrystals, BirchPressDesignWinsomeRoseAndLeavesContourLayers, JeanOkimoto, FloralDiecuts, DiecutFlowers, SlimlineCards, 6x6Papers, DIYCards, PaperPiecedDiecuts, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, BirchPressDesign

Cut white cardstock with Hex Half Pinpoint.  Cut it with a portion of the Pinpoint Leaf Plate.

Cut Verdant Arch from a light green 6x6 in the Lush Green Collection.  Cut the solid leaf backgrounds in the Winsome Rose and Leaves Contour Layers set from the same green 6x6.  Cut the detailed leaf overlays and the flower center  from a darker green 6x6.  Assemble the layered leaves.

The pinpoint background matches the Verdant Arch - and the Half Hex creates a solid backdrop for the bold flower to stand out.

Cut the Winsome Rose from 3 shades of Berry Red 6x6 cardstock.  Assembling the rose is easy - the 2 bottom layers have lightly scored guidelines showing exactly where the layering pieces should be attached.  Assemble the rose and add the green center.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").

Stamp the greeting - from the Signature Greeting Clear Stamp and Die Set - on white cardstock with Shady Lane VeraFine Clair.   Dry the ink, then cut the greeting with the coordinating die.  Cut green cardstock with the greeting die and attach it - offset to the right - for dimension.

Add pink/coral Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

The 6x6 Color Collections make it easy to coordinate colors and build layered designs like leaves and flowers. Folllow the outlines on the layering pieces for accurate placement - or create your own unique designs.  Have fun mixing, matching and layering the beautiful flowers and leaves in our latest releases at Memory Box, Poppystamps and Birch Press Design!

Thanks for visiting our blog - have a great weekend!

Good Luck

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Today's card features a few new products from the Spring release.  I used the Layered Impatiens Craft Die and turned the flowers into shamrocks.

IMG_1261

I used white cardstock to cut my flowers and colored them with copic markers.

IMG_1260

Next, I die cut the Paisley Bloom Leaf Arch die from Gold Mirror cardstock and glued them to a white cardstock panel.

I used a label maker to create the sentiment and used foam tape to adhere it to the card front.

Next, I glued my shamrocks in place around the wreath.

The card front was glued to a black cardstock mat and then adhered to a white card base.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Vibrant Violet Wildflowers Slimline by Jean Okimoto

P1014083

Send big thanks with Vibrant Violet wildflowers on a white-on-white Twiggy Thank You background.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a slimline design with Memory Box garden greens and the Star Flowers Contour Layers from Birch Press Design.

The greeting creates a monochromatic background for the flowers - and the bright flowers balance the bold Twiggy Thank You.

P1014102

Cut white cardstock with the largest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle die.  Cut the rectangle with Twiggy Thank You.  Very intentionally angled, not just slightly wonky.  Don't remove the diecut or the offcuts yet.  Tape the letters into the rectangle on the reverse side,  them remove the die.

Attach the rectangle to a white slimline card - 3-⅝" x 8-⅝".

Cut the Birch Press Design Star Flowers Contour Layers from different shades of the Vibrant Violet 6x6 Collection.  Cut the overlays and dotted center again from the violet/red Glitzy Glitter Pad sheet.  Assemble the flowers.  The base flowers are lightly embossed with guidelines for attaching the accent layers.  Great idea, thanks Dave!

P1014067

Cut Tall Frilly Leaf Stems and the larger Fresh Cut Stems from different shades of green in the Lush Green Collection.  Trim the bottoms of the Tall Frilly Stems.  Attach the greenery and blossoms to the background.  Add green Bright Jewels.

Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.  I like using A-9 envelopes - instead of the standard A-10 business envelopes for slimline cards.  A-9's are slightly smaller -  about 3-⅞" x 8-⅞" - and great for slimline cards.

Thanks for visiting the blog - see you again on Friday!

Periwinkle Miss You Cards
by Anne Thompson

I love the new Layered Periwinkle die 94614 in the 2022 February/Spring Collection from Memory Box.  Once I started making these adorable flowers I just kept making more and more using a variety of Memory Box plaid and floral papers.  I finished four cards and have more flowers still for future projects.

IMG_3550-ink

materials for each card

IMG_3537-ink
IMG_3537-ink
IMG_3537-ink
IMG_3537-ink

to make these cards

  • trim a plaid or patterned paper 5 1/4 X 4 and add to the front of a white notecard
  • trim White Woodgrain paper or white cardstock 4 1/4 X 3 and add to the center of the notecard
  • die cut and assemble a variety of blooms using the Layered Periwinkle die set and plaids/florals/printed papers; add a Fairy Drop/Gemstone/pearl to the center of each flower; make at least three for the front of each card and another for the inside
  • die cut multiples of the medium-sized leaf and the smaller one using the Exquisite Leaf Set and plaid or printed papers that coordinate with both the background paper and the periwinkles
  • add three of the leafy stems to the white mat on the card front letting some of the stems and leaves fall over the edge onto the background colored paper
  • use foam dots to pop on three periwinkle blooms
  • die cut the background from the Miss You Posh Script from one of the plaids or prints used on the front of the card; die cut the detailed Miss You from White Woodgrain or white cardstock and add it to the background (I found it worked well to use Scor-Tape on the back of the paper before die cutting, making it much easier to add the more intricate lettering); add the assembled greeting to the card front and then add more of the gems used in the flower centers as accents
  • on the inside of the card add one of the smaller leaf sprays and a single periwinkle

Pretty cards to send to someone you haven't seen in awhile!  This design would also work well for any occasion by just changing the sentiment.

Happy Crafting!

Mirror Card Birthday Greetings
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_3480

Greetings friends. I was in need of a birthday card, so I thought I would break out some of the new mirror paper. Nothing says birthday to me quite like vibrant and shiny cardstock! To make the card, I cut 1/2" strips of mirror paper from the same 6" x 6" paper pack. I like using paper from the same pack because you know the papers will coordinate well with each other.

I placed the strips of paper onto a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" cardstock so that I had two directions of diagonal stripes. For my flower, I cut out a gold flowers using paper from the same paper pack. The floral die comes with three layers, but I chose to only use two. Here is a close up of the flower. I love the detail you get from the dies:

IMG_3484

To attach the flower, I glued the bottom layer of petals to the card and popped up the second layer of petals with foam tape for some dimension. I finished by adding a leaf and my birthday greeting.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you aren't too tired after losing an hour, but the extra sunlight is always welcome.

Miss You Challenge Reminder
by Trina Pham

CC46C48B-0821-4B9B-9E5A-55CD12606C57

Hello everyone.  I’m back to colouring die-cuts today, but this time I am focusing on the beautiful Verdant Arch foliage die from the 2022 Spring release.

Started by die cutting the Verdant Arch from alcohol marker-friendly cardstock.  Cut them in half then colored with blue Copic Sketch markers (B39, B37, B34 and B32).  I was about to color them in their natural green color, but thought colouring them blue would be more fun… plus, it’s my favorite color after all. 😉

A16A1E3D-6616-4139-B9F8-9D5EF4CB93B4

The leaves were then arranged and glued onto an A2 size panel cut from Bristol paper.  For some texture, splattered with diluted Prize Ribbon distress ink and white gouache paint.  Finished with the Miss You posh script sentiment that was die cut from yellow (which looks like gold) Rainbow Reflections Mirror paper and adhered onto its white shadow.

This is a reminder that the Miss You/Thinking of You challenge is open until March 30 11:59 pm EST.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Create a spring-ish thank you card with ruffled, layered blossoms and rainbow colors peeking through the Slim Diagonal Collage.  Hi and Happy Friday - Jean Okimoto here with 3 of my favorite design elements - slimline cards, inky collage backgrounds and flowers.

Cut smooth white cardstock with the largest Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut the rectangle with Slim Diagonal Collage - run it through your machine lengthwise.

Blend wilted violet, salvaged patina and twisted citron Distress Oxides on a strip of smooth white cardstock.  Dry the inks, then spritz it with Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Airdry it for a few minutes, then heat-set it.  Trim it and tape it behind the diecut collage.  Attach it to a white slimline card (8-⅝" x 3-⅝").

Cut two of the (slim-petaled) Riverbank Large Layered Blooms from a 6x6 sheet in the Twilight Purple Collection.  Cut the round center section from a light yellow-green sheet in the Lush Green Collection.

Cut Ruffled Blooms from two shades of purple in the Twilight Purple Collection.  Assemble all of the flowers.

Cut 2 large and 1 small leafy stems from the Layered Star Flowers set from sheets in the Lush Green Collection.

Stamp the greeting - from the Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamps - on the light  yellow-green 6x6 with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair.  Dry the ink.  Cut it with the greeting strip die included in the stamp set.

Attach the diecuts to the card.  Attach the leafy stems with foamtape microdots on the top 3 leaves of each stem.
