Happy Birthday
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1106 (1)

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm back with another card featuring new products from the 2022 Spring release.

I started by using a Gel Plate to create the background for my card.  I sprinkled some Ken Oliver Color Burst Powders onto the Gel Plate and misted it with plain water.  Next I pressed watercolor color paper onto the Gel Plate to pick up the color.  I dried the paper and pressed it again onto the plate to deepen the color.  When the background was dry, I placed a stencil over the paper and used a baby wipe to remove some of the color.  It's a very subtle look because the watercolor paper absorbs the ink.  Next, I spattered the paper with gold ink.

IMG_1073

Next, I die cut the Exquisite Leaf frame from white cardstock and used a blending brush to add a little gold metallic ink the the frame.  I glued the frame to the background and adhered it to a kraft card base.

I die cut the shadow from the Happy Birthday die from foil paper and the words from white cardstock.  I used foam tape to adhere it to the card front.

To finish the card, I added some Fairy Drops to the card front.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week!

You Deserve Happiness
by Angie Cimbalo

Main

Hello and welcome! It's Angie here today with a mini slimline card made with new stamps and dies from the 2022 Memory Box Spring Release!

Here's another look at my card:

1

To make my card I started with a piece of watercolor card stock and smooshed and splattered lots of Distress Inks in pinks, yellow and oranges with lots of water too. Once it dried, I cut the "Memory Box Riverbank Large Layered Blooms" die from it and layered the flower together adhering it with liquid glue.

I stamped the sentiment from the new "Memory Box Friends and Family" Open Studio stamp set in black ink then covered the sentiment with post it notes and splattered black Karin marker watercolor ink on it. Once that dried I added the flower to the top of the card.

The center of the flower was cut from the newly released black glossy card stock and really helps tie the splatters and black ink from the sentiment all together. Lastly I added some Fairy Crystals to the card in two sizes. Here's one last look:

I hope you like my card for today! Please stop by the Memory Box blog each day to see more inspiration from the brand new 2022 Memory Box Spring Release!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stem Silhouettes
by Trina Pham

C460BFAA-F154-4E41-ACCA-F4370208CD3A

Hello and happy Saturday everyone.  I’m playing with more products from the 2022 spring release.  Unlike last time when I colored the die-cuts, I used them as silhouettes here.  This, of course, made the process quick and easy.

Started by die cutting Fresh Cut Stems and Tall Frilly Leaf Stems from black glossy paper… giving them instant shine!  Then on an A2 size Bristol panel, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire distress inks (DI) were blended on with blender brushes for an ombre look.  Spritz with water then dabbed with a paper towel for texture.  Set aside to dry.

Next, the Miss You Posh Script was die cut 3x from Bristol paper and stacked for dimension.   Arranged and assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

This turned out darker than I wanted and since it was so easy to make, I created another card with more spring-like colors and white silhouettes.

The distress inks used here are Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Scattered Straw.  I made sure to keep a light hand when blending to keep the colours soft.

Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Pinks and greens - and a favorite felt Bunny Face - create a friendship card with great new dies from our Spring 2022 Collection.  Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a layered, monochromatic design - and a lot of textured details.

The Memory Box 6x6 Collections make it easy to find the perfect coordinating colors for any project.  Three shades of pink from the Berry Red Collection create the Layered Periwinkles here.

Cut Exquisite Leaf Frame from a 6x6 in the Lush Green Collection.  Attach it to a green A2 card.  (Or attach it to another Lush Green 6x6 cut with the largest Rectangle Basics die.  Attach them to a white or natural notecard to create a custom-colored notecard.)

Cut the background of the Miss You Posh Script from the offcut of the frame.  Cut the top layer from a pink 6x6.  Assemble the greeting.

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to tan and pink wool blend felt and cut Bunny Face and the ears.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it.  Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eyes.

Cut the additional face section from Madras Plaid Coral and Green 6x6.  We're making a facemask here, even if pandemic rules are changing daily.   Cut 2 pieces of peach crochet thread or floss. Tape them - crossed - behind the plaid piece.  Attach the mask to the face and tape the thread/floss ends behind the face.

Attach the diecuts to the card.  Add pink Pastel Jewels.

A simple change of greetings could make this a get well card - or a hello card for someone you haven't seen in a while.  Add a few pastel egg or jellybean diecuts - and it's an Easter card!

Thanks for visiting - have a great weekend.  See you next week!

Miss You
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1084

Hello everyone!  Today's card features new products from the 2022 Memory Box Spring Release.  I love the new Exquisite Leaf die set, so I decided to die cut it from fun foam to make a stamp.

IMG_1069

I inked the stamp with green dye ink and stamped it on white cardstock.  I stamped the leaf image another time and filled it in with the single leaf stamp.

I used a blender brush to add some soft color to the background.  It was the same green ink I used to stamp the leaves.

Next, I added some gold and black ink spatters to the card.

I die cut the shadow from the Miss You die from vellum, and the word from black cardstock.  I glued the word to the vellum and adhered it to my card.

The card front was glued to a black cardstock mat and adhered to a white card base.

IMG_1085

To finish the card, I added some clear fairy drops around the card.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Miss You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone!  I am back with another pretty floral card today using the Fresh Cut Stems die set.  The flowers in this set remind me of my mom and I do miss her.  She loved smaller blue flowers.  This is a quick card beautiful card to recreate for someone you miss.  You can change up the colors to the recipient favorite.

Bouquet:

Die cut the Tall Frilly Leaf Stems from a dark green paper from the Lush Green Pad to get 3 stems.  Die cut the Fresh Cut Stems dies, the ones without the flowers attached, from a lighter shade of green from the Lush Green paper pad.  (I love these paper pads with the different shade for die cutting.  It makes layering so much easier). Die due the flowers from the lightest aqua from the Fresh Aqua Pad.  Shade the bottom of the flowers with Distress Salvage Patina Ink.  Add a little yellow/bronw to the center of the flower with a water color marker, dabbing lightly. Glue the flowers on the stems. Arrange the Tall Frilly Stems in the background gluing them towards the bottom where the overlap.  Then adhere the Fresh Cut Stems on top.  Cut bakers twine and tie a simple not around the area that was glues. Trim off excess.

Background:

Cut a sheet of Open Studio Watercolor Paper to A2 size.  in the center wet with water and do a quick water color wash with Distress Salvage Patina ink spray. I spay a little on the table and pick up with a soaked brush.  Jut added a light color to the center of the paper.  Then dry off the brush and plater the background with the Salvage Patina.  Blot off with a paper towel to mute the splatters into the background.  Heat dry.  Die cut the Hex Half Pinpoint from Open Studio Watercolor Paper, twice.  Adhere to the background.

Assembly:

Adhere the background panel to a A2 cream colored card.  Adhere the Miss You Posh Script sentiment, die cut from the matching paper as the flowers, to the bottom right hand corner of the card.  Glue the bouquet in the center of the card.

Riverbank Large Layered Blooms on Floral Backgrounds
by Anne Thompson

I decided to work on cards for this post using the new RIVERBANK LARGE LAYERED BLOOMS 94649 to create some flowers.  I wanted floral paper backgrounds and realized very quickly when looking through my papers that I didn't have much left from any of the Memory Box floral 6X6 paper pads.  But I still had the covers!  So...I trimmed off the white edge on each cover and cut each one up the middle to remove the black strip and circle that  label each paper pad. This left a nice half circle cut-out on a multi-floral strip, the perfect spot to pop on a coordinating flower.

IMG_3514-ink

dies

  • RIVERBANK LARGE LAYERED BLOOMS 94649
  • EXQUISITE LEAF SET 94664 (the larger leaf branch that has four leaves attached and a single leaf)

papers

  • GARDEN FOLLY 6X6 PP1005 (cover; large white flower print)
  • SUNNY ORANGE COLLECTION 6X6 CARDSTOCK SP1002 (orange; gold)
  • RAINBOW REFLECTIONS MIRROR PAD 6X6 FP1003 (lime-y green)

IMG_3519-ink

glitz

  • CHRISTMAS FAIRY CRYSTALS CRY102 (green)
  • AUTUMN FAIRY JEWELS JWL004 (orange)

to make the cards

IMG_3515-ink

  • trim off the white edge on the paper pad cover
  • cut up the middle to remove the black strip and circle that label the paper pad; this will leave two pieces, one mostly greens and one mostly oranges
  • adhere the paper strips to the fronts of two white notecards; trim off the extra on each one

IMG_3517-ink

  • for the mostly greens card, cut the Riverbank Large Layered Blooms from the floral paper that has the large white flowers
  • assemble the layers with glue; roll the petals over a stylus to add some dimension to them; add a green Christmas Fairy Crystal to the center circle; attach to the card with Scor-Tape
  • cut the leaves from the lime-y green mirror paper in the Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad; tuck the branch under the top of the flower with some glue under each leaf and add the single leaf under the flower at the bottom

IMG_3516-ink

  • for the mostly oranges card, cut the Riverbank Large Layered Blooms from one of the orange cardstock papers in the Sunny Orange Collection
  • assemble the layers with glue; add three orange Autumn Fairy Jewels to the round center; attach to the card with Scor-Tape
  • cut the leaves from one of the gold cardstock papers in the Sunny Orange Collection; tuck the branch under the bottom edge of the flower with some glue under each leaf and add the single leaf under the flower near the top left

I have cut up all of the covers from the used up paper pads in my stash and have enough to make at least six more cards like these.  I think I will add sentiments on the inside once I decide the occasion and the recipient since these cards can be used for many different themes.

Miss You with Exquisite Leaf Frame
by Angie Cimbalo

Feb 20th MB leafy cover

Hello and welcome! It's Angie here today with these newly released "Exquisite Leaf Frame" and "Miss You Posh Script" dies.  The new 2022 Spring Release is full of gorgeous dies, papers, and stamps!

Here's a closer look at my card for today:

Feb 20th MB close

For the background you can see that I used a 3D embossing folder on the watercolor card stock. I love using thick watercolor card stock with 3D embossing folders because you get such a deep and lovely impression. The word die also has a shadow die with it, but I decided not to use it as I wanted a thin black sentiment in the center and didn't want to draw any attention away from the lovely frame die.

Here's another look:

Feb 20th 2

The frame die was cut twice, once from alcohol inked Yupo paper and a second time from watercolor card stock that was smooshed with the same colors of ink and popped on top with very thin foam tape.

You can see the bottom layer of the leaf frame has more shine to it as it is the Yupo paper with alcohol inks. The top layer is more matte looking and it was turned around so that the leaf layers did not match up. I wanted a layered leaf look, so I decided to not line them up but instead reverse the top layer. I think it gives a really nice look to the card and especially like the contrast of shiny versus matte for the leaves.

Lastly I added some gems from Memory Box around the card front.

Here's one last look:

Feb 20th 3

I hope you like my card for today! Be sure to check out all the new release items in the Memory Box 2022 Spring Release. There are lots of gorgeous products including dies, new mirror papers, and stamps! You can find it all right HERE!

Just a Note of Daisies
by Trina Pham

3349DE7B-E885-4840-BB93-6E7845605459

Hello everyone.  Since daisies are one of my favorite flowers (I have many 😁), I used the Daisy Blossom Stem die along with the Hex Half Pinpoint die and the Friends and Family stamp set from the new 2022 Spring release to create an all-occasion card.

To start, the daisies and leaves/foliage were die cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic Sketch markers.

Yellows: Y11, Y15, YR24, YR27
Greens: YG03, YG07, YG17, YG67
Greys: C00, C1, 0 (for shading the white petals)

03175127-744A-45E0-B28C-C4AA1608CFED

The hexagon window layer was created by joining two white woodgrain Hex Half Pinpoint pieces together.  For the background, Peacock Feathers distress ink was watercolored onto a scrap of mixed media paper.  Once it was dry, it was attached to the card base then the flowers/foliage were arranged and adhered to it before mounting the hexagon window layer over top with foam tape for dimension.  Finished with some clear shimmer on the daisy yellow centers.

With so many beautiful products, the 2022 spring release will not disappoint.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.
