Slim Pinpoint Heart Balloons by Jean Okimoto

P1012554

Send special hugs with glittered pinpoint heart balloons on a Kraft Woodgrain slimline card.  It can be a Valentine - or a friendship card just to say hello.  Hi, Jean Okimoto  here with a basic design that could work for birthdays too.  Or Mother's Day.P1012525

Cut the textured side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper with the top portion of the
Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate.  Use a sponge or blending brush to color it with picked raspberry, abandoned coral and kitsch flamingo Distress Oxides.  Spritz it with a light mist of water to create some shadowy areas.  Heat-set the inks.

Spritz it lightly with Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Air-dry it for a few minutes then heat-set it.

Diecut it with Balloon Bunch - place the die so there's a complete heart in the center balloon.  Leave the pieces in the die and tape them together on the backside.  It'll be a lot easier* to remove and attach the balloons and delicate outlines if they're intact.

Use dies from the Have a Heart set to cut a medium and 2 small hearts from a pink 6x6 in Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.

Tape white crochet thread or twine behind the balloon - cut the strands longer than necessary - it'll be easier* to trim them later.

Cut the BIG Hugs background from Kraft Woodgrain Paper (cardstock).  Pressure-emboss it with the delicate greeting to add dimension and make it easier* to attach the top layer.  Ink a scrap of watercolor paper with inks used for the balloons and diecut the top layer.

(*always looking for easier ways to do things!)

Attach the diecuts to a Kraft Woodgrain slimline card (3-½" x 8-½") - use doublestick tape to attach the greeting (not glue) and balloon strings.  Add the orange/copper Treasure Chest Fairy Gemstones.  Trim the ends of the crochet thread.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front if it'll be mailed.

Thanks for visiting  our blog - hope you'll have time to create a few cards this weekend!
