Non Traditional Valentine's Day Card by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. I don't know about you, but I love to send cards for Valentine's Day to my friends to let them know how much I care. I don't often like to use hearts and cupids, so a nice solution is to use Valentine colors and flowers to make my cards. I often use other items such as butterflies and animals for my cards. I think it is all about reminding people how much they mean to you.

To make my card, I cut out my flowers using light pink and red cardstock to create my layers. For the leaves, I used two shades of green.

The background uses one of Memory Box's 3-D embossing folders. The amount of detail you get from one of these folders is absolutely incredible. I always try to remind people to lightly mist your cardstock with water before putting it in the folder. It helps prevent your paper from cracking and also accentuates the pattern of your folder.

Here is a close up of the background:

To finish the card, I popped up the largest flower with some foam tape to add a bit of extra dimension. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

beautiful, great for any occasion!
