Hello Friend Blue Bird Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have an any occasion card using the new Cottage Flower Stem and the Hello Friend Posh Script dies.  I used a blue color scheme but you can use any color you or the recipient of the card like.  Using the new flower die and the colored paper packs make it easier to create the color you want.

Flowers:

Die cut the base of the Cottage Flower Stem die from white card stock 3 times.  Trim the stem off the flower. Die cut the 2nd layer from a light tone blue from the Ocean Blue paper pad 3 times.  Die cut the center of the flower out of a light yellow from the Sunny Orange paper pad. Glue the 3 pieces together using the picture on the front of the packaging.  Shape the flowers with your fingers.

Leaves:

Die cut the leaves from Gentle Blossom Watercolor Floral. The solid leaf from a dark tone green and die cut the other leaf die out of a light green from the Lush Green paper pad. I ran out of a dark tone green so I used the med tone and colored with Distress Rustic Wilderness ink.

Bird:

Die cut the bird base from a dark blue from the Ocean Blue paper pad.  Die cut the wing 2 time one with the med tone blue than the same light tone blue from the Ocean Blue paper pad.  Die cut the beak out of orange from the Sunny Orange paper pad. Fussy cut the light blue die cut wing, cutting just the top of the wing.  Glue the pieces together.

Sentiment:

Die cut the bottom of the Hello Friend Posh Scrip from the same dark blue from the Ocean Blue paper pad as the bird.  Die cut the top die from white card stock.  Glue together.

Tree Branch:

Die cut, Forest Pine Branch, 2 times, a med tone brown from the Earth Neutral paper pad.  Trim off the pine needles from both die cuts.  Adhere 1 branch just after the second brach, curving the branch downward.  Trim off the access from the first branch.

Background:

Use Open Studio Watercolor paper and spray inks to create a deep blue background.  I used Distress Oxide Broken China, Dylusions Periwinkle Blue and White Linen.  Heat dry.  Emboss using the Geometric Crystals 3D Embossing folder.  Trim down to 4"x5 1/4" panel.

Assembly:

Adhere the background to the center of a A2 card base.  Adhere the branches to the upper half of the card.  Adhere the bird right above the branch to make it looks like it is sitting.  Adhere the flowers to the branch and then tuck in the leaves.  Adhere the sentiment to the bottom right hand side.

This is a super card and so very pretty. Love all the texture and the mix of blues. Very well done.
