Add extra leaves to the center of the Exquisite Leaf Frame and create a botanical background for flowers from our latest releases.  The diecuts from the Exquisite Leaf Set fill the frame and surround the layered blossoms.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with another easy way to get more from your Memory Box dies.

Cut Exquisite Leaf Frame from white cardstock and attach it to a side-folded white A2 card.

Cut additional leaves from Exquisite Leaf Set - cut 2 of the single leaf.  Trim the bottom right leaf from the 4-leaf diecut.  Attach the extra leaves to the background - the violet asterisks in the photo mark the locations for the added diecuts.

Cut the flowers from three shades of Vibrant Violet 6x6 pack with the Layered Cosmos and Poppystamps Petite Blooms Flower Set.    Mix and match the layers and centers.

Stamp the greeting - from the Signature Greetings Clear Stamp and Die Set - on white cardstock with Purple Delight VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Cut the cardstock with the 2" x 3-¼" Rectangle Basics die.  Attach it to the card.  Add the flowers and green Christmas Fairy Jewels.

Happy Thoughts
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1016

Hello everyone!  Today's card features a great way to use those leftover scraps of paper we all have.

I started by die cutting the Jumbled Line Collage die from a piece of white cardstock.  Next, I trimmed it down to a mini slimline card size and cut strips of paper to weave in between the lines.

I mounted this to a kraft cardstock panel and then glued it to a white card base.

IMG_1014

The flower was die cut 3 times from white cardstock, and glued together to give it more dimension.  I used foam tape to adhere it in place on the card.

Next, I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment on another strip of scrap paper.  Using foam tape I adhered it to the card front.

That's it for today!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friend
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1583

Good morning everyone!  Today I have another spring themed card for you which features some bright colored flowers and foliage.

IMG_1584

I die cut the flowers and leaves from white cardstock, and used Distress Oxide Inks to add color to them.  I used Gold and Black Nuvo Drops for the centers of the flowers.

IMG_1587 (2)

Next, I used a blending brush to lightly apply Squeezed Lemonade Ink to a watercolor panel.  I spattered it with gold and black inks.  Once the paper was dry, I used foam tape to adhere my flowers to the card and then glued the leaves in place.

I die cut the words "Hello Friend" from Glossy Black cardstock and the shadow from vellum.  Then I adhered my card front to a white card base.

Recycled Background Earth Day Greetings by Jean Okimoto

P1015244

Let's build a background of recycled scraps and create a card to celebrate Earth Day.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here using Lush Green Collection scraps from my stash to fill the Jumbled Line Collage.  It made just a teeny tiny dent in my big stack of scraps - but I feel so resourceful and earth-friendly.

P1015198

Attach a strip of doublestick tape to printer paper.  Cut assorted 3/4" strips of the Lush Green Collection 6x6's.  Attach them to the paper - we're using paper so it won't be too bulky.

Cut white cardstock with the largest Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut the rectangle with Jumbled Line Collage.  Lay the collage over the strips before adding any adhesive.  Trim the edges of the paper to fit behind the collage, then attach it behind the collage.  Attach the rectangle to a slimline card (3-5/8" x 8-1/2").

P1015282

Cut different shades of yellow 6x6's from the Sunny Orange Collection with the Gentle Blossom Watercolor Floral and Layered Fresh Flowers dies.  Assemble the flowers -  mix and match the blossoms and the centers. Use a center from the Layered Fresh Flowers set for the Gentle Blossom Watercolor Floral.

Cut the solid leaves - from the Gentle Blossom Watercolor Floral set - from a sheet Lush Green sheet.  Press a scrap of the same green onto a VersaMark inkpad.  Heat-emboss the inked area with detail clear powder.  Cut the detailed leaves from the embossed cardstock.  They'll be slightly darker and glossy to contrast with the solid background leaves.

Stamp the greeting from the Signature Greetings Clear Stamps and Dies Set on a yellow 6x6 with Onyx Black VersaFine.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Trim one end with the second-smallest Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die - then just cut the other end with a paper trimmer.

P1015209

Assemble the card - use foamdots for the greeting.  Add yellow Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the jewels and card front for mailing.

The coordinated colors of the Memory Box 6x6 Collections save time and simplify cardmaking with a 108 choices.  They match our 6x6 prints and plaids, glitter, foil and mirror cardstock too.

Thanks for visiting - have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1552

Hello everyone!  Today I have a fun Birthday card for you using more new products from the 2022 Spring release.

I began by die cutting one of the Nested Globes from white cardstock and stenciling on top of it with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink.  Next, I lightly inked around the edge of the die cut with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink.  I also used Hickory Smoke ink and a blending brush to add ink to a White Woodgrain cardstock panel.  This brings out the texture in the cardstock.  I glued my globe die cut to the paper and used foam tape to adhere it to a white card base.

IMG_1551 (1)

I die cut the large leaves from the Exquisite Leaf Set using white cardstock and inked them with Distress Oxide Inks.  I glued the leaves in place over the globe die cut and spattered the card with white and gray inks.

Next, I die cut the shadow from the Happy Birthday Posh Script die from Vellum and the words from gray cardstock.  I glued the words to the vellum, which I adhered to the card.

IMG_1550 (1)

To finish the card, I added some Clear Fairy Drops and that's it!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Friend
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_1398

Hello everyone!  Today I have a simple card with a spring theme.

I started by creating a ink blended background on white cardstock as my base.

IMG_1395

Allow background to dry completely before going on to stamping.  Once dry, I inked my stamp with Versa Mark Ink and white heat embossed the image.

Next, I inked a sentiment stamp with Versa Mark Ink and randomly stamped the background to give it some dimension.  I used Wilted Violet embossing glaze to heat emboss the random words.  I spattered the background with white ink.

I die cut the words "Hello Friend" from white cardstock and the shadow background from glossy black cardstock.  I glued the white words to the shadow background and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.  Next, I white heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and glued it to my card.

IMG_1399

I glued the background to a black cardstock mat and then adhered it to a white card card base.

To finish the card I added some clear fairy dots.  That's it for today's card!

Have a great and creative week!

Dimensional Diecut Stenciling by Jean Okimoto

P1013134

Create the look of a 3-layered blossom with just 2 layers - and a bit of offset diecutting.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an easy way to add dimension to the Gentle Blossom Watercolor Floral.

P1013128

Cut the blossom from smooth white cardstock - save the offcut too.  Color the blossom with a soft layer of Distress Oxide abandoned coral.  Use the offcut to stencil the ink onto another piece of smooth white cardstock, then dry the ink.  Cut it with the blossom die - offset to reveal uninked edges along the right side.  Instant layering!

Cut the lacy top layer from the pale peach Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad 6x6 sheet.  Cut the 2-piece layered center section from a sheet in the Lush Green Color Collection.  Assemble the blossom.

Cut and assemble the leaves from another Lush Green Collection sheet.

Cut Thank You Posh Script from light kraft cardstock - and another 6x6 sheet from the Lush Green Collection.  Pressure-emboss the background diecut with the detailed greeting.  It adds dimension and makes it easy to attach the top layer - just add tiny dots of adhesive and press it onto the embossed background.

Cut the dark floral Garland 6x6 sheet with the 2-¾" x 7-¾" Slim Basic Rectangle die - place the right edge of the die along the right edge of the 6x6 for a nice smooth diecut edge on the (more visible) solid edge of the background.

P1013240

Attach the diecuts to a light kraft slimline card - 3-½" x 8-½".  Add some pale peach Pastel Fairy Jewels to several of the flowers on the background.  Cut a slimline-sized rectangle of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Hope you like the look of dark florals as much as I do - it makes the Gentle Blossom Watercolor Floral stand out against the background and emphasizes the layers and details.

Thanks for visiting our blog - see you again on Friday!

Floral Watercolor Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I am using the new Gentle Blossom Watercolor Bloom die set with a subtle mixed media background.

5BB98E76-55AF-4ED2-913E-4A26C354D16E_1_201_a

Mixed Background:

Use a gel pad and brayer to add a water based ink pad in light blue and roll on the ink across the full gel pad.  Then add light turquoise just to the bottom half of the gel pad, blending the inks together.  I used retired Colorbox ink pad but Wendy Vecchi or Distress Oxides inks work well for the gel press as well.  Add small splatter all over with water down Brush ink in blue.  Take a print using a white mixed media paper. Let dry.  Add leaves using the Leafy Rows stencil and clear glimmer embossing paste to the lower part of the paper.  I used Dreamworks paste.  The paste smeared in 1 area so I smeared it over the top to even it out.  One of those accidents you can turn into part of the design.  The best reason to do mixed media is for this reason.  Let dry and trim down to 4"x5 1/4".

Flowers and Leaves:

Die cut out all the Gentle Blossom Watercolor Bloom dies out of Open Studio Watercolor paper.  I used a wet on wet technique to watercolor the first lightest layer of pink for the flower and green for the leaves.  Dry to just damp and then add more thicker paint in the center and let the paint flow out to create depth.  The top layers I used a wet on dry so the color is more bold.  Drying and adding ink on top for a more intense color.  Let dry.  Adhere the die cuts together using the back the envelope as a guide.

182C1FE4-70D2-4F9F-9D28-FADB7595985D_1_201_a

Sentiment:

White emboss the "Time to Celebrate" sentiment from the Joyful Moments clear stamp set on a light pink from the Berry Reds paper pack.  Trim to a rectangle around the sentiment and cut a larger rectangle out of black to layer behind.  Add the pink paper to the black with foam squares.

Assembly:

Adhere the background to a A2 size black card base.  Add a white piece of thin paper to the  inside of the card to write a personal message.  Take a piece of tulle and wrap a piece of 1/4" double sided tape.  add to the top of the background right above the embossed leaves.  Add the flower to the center and adhere the leaves around the flower.  Add the sentiment to the bottom half of the card.

Hearts and Flowers
by Anne Thompson

I have a few more valentines today, and these use floral printed papers and glitter papers with the Sprinkle Heart Collage, a Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Cut Out, and the letters "love" from the Bennet Alphabet.

IMG_3497-ink

I used the same procedures for both cards but let's take a closer look at the one on the right with the red glitter paper.

IMG_3496-ink

To make this card...

  • I started with a white notecard.
  • I chose a floral paper from COTTAGE MEADOW PP1003 and cut into the left side with the SPRINKLE HEART COLLAGE 94548.  I discarded the small heart pieces and secured the floral paper to the front of the notecard.
  • I then chose a red glitter paper from the GLITZY GLITTER PAD GP1007, added some Scor-Tape to the back, and cut the Sprinkle Heart Collage again, this time taking the cut out heart pieces and inserting them into the open spaces of the Sprinkle Heart Collage on the card front.
  • Next I cut one of the larger SCALLOP PINPOINT LOVING HEARTS 94364 from more of the red glitter paper and added it to the card front with Scor-Tape.
  • I added Scor-Tape to the back of some red glitter paper scraps and cut the letters "l, o, v, e" using the dies from the BENNET ALPHABET 94582, and added this sentiment to the lower right on the card front.

IMG_3498-ink

For the pink card...

  • I used a floral paper from the SPRINGTIME BOUQUET PAPER PAD PP1006 and pink glitter paper from the DELICATE PASTEL GLITTER PAD GP 1001.
  • I followed the same procedures as outlined with the first card.

IMG_3500-ink

And...then I made two more cards using the ROSE BROCADE WIDE WASHI TAPE WT499 and cardstock from the BERRY RED COLLECTION SP1001 with more of the pink glitter papers.

IMG_3502-ink

One more week until Valentines Day...

Happy Crafting!
