Halloween Easel
by Trina Pham

3BDE9DBA-771C-44E8-9C6A-72601451F0CF

Hello there.  I can’t get enough of these adorable ghosts, so I had to use them again but this time for a Halloween easel card.

Started by die cutting a moon mask with a Circle Basics die and attached it to an A2 size Bristol panel.  Using blender brushes, ink blended Speckled Egg, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress inks for the sky.  Splattered with diluted black and white gouache paints for some texture.

2D79E8ED-12C5-4CEC-84A5-1049E25F8152

The Fancy Gate Globe was then die cut twice from black cardstock.  Trimmed off the arches on both; on one of them, cut in half and cut away the gate details.  Adhered them together like so to create a fence with the gate.  Great way to stretch your supplies. 😉

Next, die cut the Woodgrain Tree Trunk from black cardstock and the ghosts from white.  Added shading to the moon and ghosts with Copic Sketch markers, then assemble the scene onto the panel.  The right ghost was popped up with foam adhesive for dimension.  Spritz the entire panel with a shimmer spray for some sparkle (sorry couldn’t capture it in the photos).

To create the easel base, scored the front of an A2 size top folding card base at 2.75” and adhered the panel to the bottom half below the scored line.  The Happy Halloween Posh Script sentiment with shadow was then die cut from white and navy cardstock to be used as the stopper.  Here’s a side view of it all propped up.

And here’s the view from the front.

And that is it for my card.  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful day.

Ghostly Garden Greetings by Jean Okimoto

P1019032

Transition from late summer to fall - and Halloween - with ghosts and the new Creepy Cabin.  The floral background from the Garland 6x6 set is perfect for summer, fall and winter projects.  Hi, happy weekend - Jean Okimoto here with another idea featuring a die from our Fall '22 Collection.

Cut the Garland 6x6 floral print with the largest Nested Globe die.

Cut the Creepy Cabin die from Kraft Woodgrain Paper - leave an extra ⅓" above and below the bottom of the design.  Cut it with a portion of the 3" wide Nested Globe die.  Attach a scrap of the yellow Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad sheet behind the house to illuminate the windows and double-door.

The ghosts and bats are from the popular Haunted Entrance Dome Layer set - a favorite for Halloween cards.  Cut them from heavy white cardstock and Black Glossy Paper (it's very sturdy cardstock that's great for scored and embossed designs).

P1019038

Attach the diecuts to a top-folded green A2 card.  Add the large Clear Fairy Drops.  Cut an A2-sized rectangle of cardstock to protect the Fairy Drops and card for mailing.

Thanks for visiting the blog...have a great weekend!

Boo to You
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_2404

Hello everyone!  Today I have a clean and simple Halloween card for you featuring new products from the fall release.

I die cut the ghosts from white cardstock and randomly glued them to a black cardstock panel.

IMG_2369

IMG_2370 (1)

Once the glue was dry, I trimmed the overhanging ghosts from the background and glued it to to a orange cardstock mat.  I used foam tape to adhere the panel to a white card base.

I die cut the shadow from the "Boo to You" die from orange cardstock and the words from white cardstock.  I glued the words to the orange shadow die cut, then glued it to a vellum die cut circle.  Next, I glued this to my card and that's it!  Cutting all the ghosts was probably the most time consuming part of the card.

Flying Witch on a Golden Broom by Jean Okimoto

P1018922 2

Traditional holiday colors and designs are nice...but Halloween gives us a great excuse to play with colors and design elements.  Like a Black Glossy cardstock witch with a pink cape riding a shimmery golden broom.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a mix-and-match Halloween idea, just for fun.

P1018924 2

Cut Exquisite Leaf Frame from the dark orange sheet in the Sunny Orange Collection.

Cut Flying Witch from Black Glossy Paper (it's  cardstock).  Cut the cape section from the pink sheet in the Berry Red Collection. Cut the broom from a gold sheet in the Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad.  Trim it and attach it over the Black Glossy broom.

Cut the 1-¼" moon from the white Polished Foil Pad sheet using the Circle Basics die.

Cut 2 bats - from the Haunted Entrance Dome Layer set - from Black Glossy cardstock.

Cut Boo Posh Script from black cardstock and the orange cardstock used for the leaf frame.

P1018930

Attach the diecuts to a dark orange A2 card - use foam dots for the witch's cape and the bottom of the broom.

Have fun experimenting with this design - try it with different cape colors - like chartreuse, teal, coral or fuchsia. And post it as your entry in our September Falling for Fall Challenge!

Thanks for visiting our blog - see you on Friday!

Happy Halloween Scene
by Anne Thompson

The view from my window inspired today's card...cattails and trees border the pond in my yard.  To make it into a Halloween scene, I added a yellow full moon and the flying witch against a glittery night sky.

IMG_3866-ink

There are so many papers on this 6X6 card.

  • BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004 as the 6X6 background
  • WOODSY PLAID PP1018, one on top of the black glossy paper and five different plaids for trees and cattails
  • MAJESTIC HUES GLITTER PAD GP1008 black glitter paper for the inner night sky background
  • EARTH NEUTRALS COLLECTION SP1009 brown for a tree and two layers of black for the witch and the Happy Halloween background
  • SUNNY ORANGE COLLECTION SP1002 for the moon and Happy Halloween lettering

These are the five dies I used.

  • a circle die from the CIRCLE BASICS SET 30087
  • WOODGRAIN TREE TRUNK 94630
  • CATTAIL BORDER 94625
  • FLYING WITCH 94624
  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN POSH SCRIPT 94585

IMG_3869-ink

to make this card

  • start with a piece of Black Glossy Paper cut 6X6
  • add a layer of plaid just a scant bit smaller than the black glossy paper
  • make the inner panel next starting with a 5 7/8" square of black glitter paper
  • die cut a circle for the moon from yellow cardstock and add it to the upper right corner
  • cut out a bunch of trees--I ended up using only 4 with the darkest one in the back and the lightest one popped up with dimensional foam in the foreground
  • die cut the cattails and color the tips with a brown marker; add to the bottom of the trees; trim this panel as needed and add to the card
  • die cut two of the flying witch and her cape and glue them together for more dimension and add to the upper right corner with dimensional foam dots
  • cut two of the Happy Halloween background from black cardstock and glue together
  • cut one of the detailed Happy Halloween lettering from yellow cardstock and add to the background using a glue pen
  • add the sentiment to the lower left corner of the panel

Haunted House Halloween Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a halloween scene card using the Nested Globe die set to create a window to the Creepy Cabin with bats and ghosts flying around.

F424B828-495F-4280-A588-432D42413897_1_201_a

Windows:

Take the 3 grey/brown gradient Earth Neutral and trim down to A2 size.  Keep the scraps.  Take the matching sized Nested Globe die to the  and center of the darkest color card panel and die cut out the center.   Repeat on the other 2 panels with the next 2 size Nested Globe dies.  Cut the scrap pcs in to 1/2" strips and glue 2 pcs together. Glue the strips around the edge of each panel to create a little depth between the layers.

71F4C1D9-9CF2-4C43-A357-559C2DC63251

Die Cuts:

Die cut the Creepy Cabin and the fence from Rickety House die set from the same matching dark brown Earth Neutral paper. Die cut the bats from Haunted Entrance Globe Layered die set and Fancy Gate Globe die from Black Glossy paper. Die cut the ghosts from the Haunted Entrance Globe Layered die set from white paper.

Ink Blending:

To make the sky ink blend Distress Oxide Mustard Seed from the lower to center on a white card stock slightly bigger than the smallest opening.  Then ink blend Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon around the outside edges.  set aside.  Take another scrap white card stock and repeat same ink blending process.  Let dry and then die cut the top Happy Halloween Posh Scrip die and the pumpkins from Haunted Entrance Globe Layered die.

Assembly:

Fussy cut the trees from the Creepy Cabin.  Glue the Creepy Cabin to the bottom panel.  Glue the fence to to the back of the Creepy Cabin.  Trim off the fence behind the door and window.  Adhere the sky panel behind the Creepy Cabin.   Adhere 1 of the ghost to the front of the panel.  Take the middle panel and adhere the trees to the back. Adhere 1 ghost to the back of the middle panel and 1 ghost to the front of the panel. Adhere 1 smaller bat to the trees.  Trim the bottom off the Fancy Gate Globe die and adhere to the back of the panel.  Bend the gate so the open outward.  Adhere 1 ghost to the backside of the panel.  Adhere the sentiment, pumpkins, and 1 bat to the front panel.  Adhere to a A2 size card.

Flying Witch with Creepy Cabin
by Angie Cimbalo

AngiesignatureNEW
Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a Halloween card featuring some of the newly released fall dies.  The new dies I used are:

1)  Flying Witch 94624
2)  Creepy Cabin 94634
3)  Boo to You Posh Script 94587

Here's a close up look at my card:

AngiesignatureNEW
To make my card I cut the witch and the cabin from both white card and glossy black card stock. This is very thick and nice black glossy card stock released earlier by Memory Box and it's such high quality!

In the picture below you can see both cabin cuts.  The one of the left was cut right out of white card and left alone.  The black one was trimmed out of the opening so I could layer it on top of the white one with liquid glue.  For the background behind the cabin inside the opening, I ink blended a piece of white card with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink on the top half, and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide on the bottom half.

Next I took the smaller die from the Circle Basics 30087 set from white card that I had ink blended with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink.  I glued that to the background for my night moon in the sky.

Below you can see me working on the cabins and the ink blending.

AngiesignatureNEW

After gluing the black cabin over the white one, I cut the whole panel with a Stitched Rectangle Layers die 30009, and then used the same die and then next size smaller to create a glossy black stitched frame for my image.  I mounted that whole panel on foam tape in the bottom right corner.

AngiesignatureNEW

Next I glued the white and black witches together slightly offset and then added them to the card.  I had to use foam tape on the left side since the top of the broom, her arm and leg are on the raised rectangle panel.  This made it all even.  I did the same thing with the sentiment, layered, raised up the part not on the rectangle with foam tape to make if all level on the card.

Lastly I added both Autumn Fairy Crystals and Autumn Fairy Jewels to the card.  Memory Box has lots and lots of gems, jewels and crystals to choose from including clear ones.  The are fall colors, winter colors, Christmas colors and clear ones that look like water droplets and the best part is the come in different sizes.  Here's on last look at my card:

AngiesignatureNEW

I had so much fun making this card.  I like to make Halloween cards for my grandkids, even though some are getting older, it's always fun to receive a card in the mail no matter how old you are!

Be sure to check out the newest Memory Box release goodies HERE.  There are lots of spooky and fun dies to help you create amazing cards!  Thanks so much for stopping by and see you next time.

Boo to You Tags for Halloween Goodie Bags
by Anne Thompson

Did you see Jean's post yesterday?  I hadn't looked at hers until after I had made these tags for my post today.

IMG_3855-ink

We both used these same three dies:

  •  WILD SPIRAL 94629
  • GHOSTS IN THE FOREST 94622
  • BOO POSH SCRIPT 94587

IMG_3858-ink

to make my tags

  • cut the Wild Spiral from BLACK GLOSSY PAPER SH44004
  • cut the ghosts with the two ghosts die in the Ghosts in the Forest set using a white glitter paper from MAJESTIC HUES GLITTER PAD GP1008
  • cut the background for the Boo Posh Script using a bright orange from the SUNNY ORANGE COLLECTION SP1002
  • cut the detailed letters for the Boo Posh Script from scraps of the Black Glossy Paper

IMG_3859-ink

  • Assemble the tags by securing the ghosts to the spiral with Glue Dots, making sure that their features line up with the black of the spiral.
  • Add the detailed lettering on top of the orange background using a Glue Pen and use Glue dots to add it to the spiral.
  • Punch a hole near the top of the spiral (I used the smallest setting on my Cropadile) and thread string/yarn/ribbon through the hole.

That's it!  Fun tags to add to bags of Halloween treats!

IMG_3855-ink

I'll be busy at my sewing machine soon creating costumes for my grandsons (and my son and his wife) who sent their requests on Sunday.  They always have a theme and dress up as a family.  This year looks like it will be Victorian vampires, so that should be challenging.  I will also sew some Halloween treat bags, fill them with goodies, and add these tags to send along with the costume pieces I make.

Happy Crafting!
