New Year’s Shaker
by Trina Pham

Hello and happy Boxing Day!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.   Now that Christmas is over, my card today focuses on the next big celebration.  And since the edge-to-edge or infinity or pocket or frameless or flat shaker card (yes, it is known by all these names!) is so popular right now, I thought they pair well together.

3 things come to mind when I think of new year’s - glitz, glam and gold! 😉  Started by creating a golden bokeh background on watercolor paper.  Using the wet-on-wet technique, applied clean water to the entire watercolor panel, then randomly dropped in various colours of yellow
from my Gansai Tambi" watercolor paints.  Once dried, used DIY circle stencils from my stash to add white pigment ink and white gouache paint with a sponge dauber through these stencils.   Trimmed the panel down to A2 size and spritz with a shimmer spray for some sparkle.

Next, a piece of clear plastic was trimmed to slightly larger than A2 size.   Added strong double-sided tape along the four sides on the back of the panel.   Remove the release paper from three sides and fold the plastic over and secure.  This will create a pocket with the opening on one end.  Add in the shaker bits , then close off the final side.

Mounted the shaker panel to a white card base.   Die cut the letters from gold glitter paper, then adhered on top of the plastic to finish.

Thank you for joining me today.  Have a safe and happy new year!  See you next year!

Beautiful and interesting shaker! Love the idea and the bokeh background!

Fun shaker card Trina, love that edge to edge design :)

WOW this is amazing and a celebration on a card Trina x.

Such a fun edge-to-edge shaker, Trina! Just love that Happy New Year you created from the alpha dies too!!

This is such a clever way to make a shaker card Trina! I am definitely going to give this a try. LOVE the design with the happy yellow background and those gorgeous gold glitter letters.
