Glitter Spread the Cheer
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome!  I'm up on the Memory Box blog with this fun sparkly card using the "Curled Holly Branch Die", the "Stunning Mandala" 3D embossing folder, some fairy gems, heat embossing and some gorgeous blue glitter paper.  Here's a closer look:

Don't you just love the depth of that gorgeous Memory Box glitter paper?

To make my card

1)  I first inked the debossed side of the Mandala 3D embossing folder.

2)  I die cut a piece of dark blue card stock from the "Ocean Blue" paper pad with a "Wrapped Stitched" rectangle die.

3)  I die cut a piece of blue "Twinkling Jewel" glitter paper with a smaller "Wrapped Stitched" rectangle die.

4)  I added both rectangles to the embossed panel and then stamped the sentiment from "Festive Christmas Greetings" on white card stock with black ink and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder.

5)  I cut the sentiment into a thin strip and then I die cut the "Curled Holly Branch" die from white card and added it to the glitter paper.

6)  I added some Christmas Fairy Jewels to the berries and then added the sentiment strip to the bottom.

7)  I added the panel to a card base and my card was complete!

Here's one last look at my card:

I I hope you enjoy my card for today, it was one of my favorite Christmas card that I sent out this year!
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow for more design team inspiration.

Thank You Memory Box
by Michelle Bala

19

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing my last Memory Box blog post as part of their design team:( Thank you, Dave and Monica, for your generosity and the beautiful products you supplied to us!!!!  And a HUGE THANK YOU to all my crafty friends on this blog!!! I would like to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year!!!
19

Today's card is pretty basic. I used the Geometric Crystals 3D Embossing Folder and embossed a piece of white cardstock. Than I trimmed the cardstock to measure 4 x 5 2/4". The card base meausres 4 2/4 x 5 1/2. I adhered the embossed panel to the card base with foam tape.

Next, I used the Bennet Alphabet Dies. This set of dies has two dies per letter. The letter die and it's coordinating shadow. I die cut the words 'thank you' from the 6 x 6 pattern paper pack Woodsy Plaid. I took the shadow dies ( the larger die) and die cut the glitter background from the Majestic Hues Glitter Pad. I adhered the plaid pattern on top of the glitter. Than I adhered the whole letter to the embossed panel with foam tape.

That's all for me...God Bless you all!

Flower Die Fireworks New Years Card
by Sara Cook

I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend.  It is time for the New Years celebrations next.  I have a New Years card design using the Seed Stem die as fireworks.  Memory Box dies are so versatile, making them my favorite. The Bennet Alphabet die set makes it easy to create your own sentiment.

FDDF1158-CEEA-44BF-BFD4-0517D60D150C_1_201_a

Background:

Cut black card stock to 4"x51/4" and emboss using the Ringadings 3D embossing folder.  Center it in the folder and hold in place with temporary tape.  Splatter with metallic silver and blue paint.  I used Gansai Tambi Gem and Starry water color sets.

Fireworks:

Die cut the top of the Seed Stems die from silver and blue glitter paper from the Glitzy Glitter Pad.  Die cut 2 silver and 1 blue.  Trim off the stem.  Turn the die cut upside down and it looks like firework.

Sentiment:

Die cut "happy new year" from the same silver and blue glitter paper as the fireworks using the Banner Alphabet die set.

Assembly:

Cut a A2 panel from the same blue glitter paper and adhere to a A2 card base.  Adhere the embossed background panel in the center.  Adhere the fireworks, upside down Seed Stems, with just tape or glue in the center of the due cut, at the top center of the card.  Arrange the die cut letter in the lower half of the card to spell happy new year.

Woodgrain Heart Poinsettia Thank You Cards
by Anne Thompson

It's time to send out those after Christmas thank you notes, and mine are both a nod to Christmas and to the upcoming Valentine's Day.  When I was going through my supplies from the 2021 Valentine Collection thinking about valentines, I found the Woodgrain Heart that I thought would be the perfect background for a Layered Poinsettia thank-you-for-my-Christmas-gift card.

  • white cardstock
  • cardstock from the LUSH GREEN COLLECTION SP1003

to make this card design

IMG_3444-ink

  • Trim plaid paper or cardstock to 4X5.25 and adhere to the front of a white notecard.
  • Die cut the Woodgrain Heart from cardstock and add it to the front--I used Scor-Tape to anchor mine.  In the photo below you can see the beautiful detail in the heart.

IMG_3450-ink

  • Next die cut the Layered Poinsettia from a cardstock that coordinates with the plaid or cardstock background and heart.  I assembled mine using Glue Dots and another in the center back to hold it onto the heart.
  • Die cut the Thank You Streamlined Script from white cardstock and use glue to add it to either the heart or the background on the card.
  • The last step is to add Christmas Fairy Jewels and Christmas Fairy Crystals to the flower centers and the card background.

This may also give you an idea for those valentines you will need to start making soon.  Just change up the flowers and the sentiment for a lovely valentine!  Need some supplies?  Check out the 2021 Valentine Collection here.

Happy Crafting!  See you again in 2022!

New Year’s Shaker
by Trina Pham

DB8250CD-6CD4-44E1-BAE3-1C190FB4A755

Hello and happy Boxing Day!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.   Now that Christmas is over, my card today focuses on the next big celebration.  And since the edge-to-edge or infinity or pocket or frameless or flat shaker card (yes, it is known by all these names!) is so popular right now, I thought they pair well together.

3 things come to mind when I think of new year’s - glitz, glam and gold! 😉  Started by creating a golden bokeh background on watercolor paper.  Using the wet-on-wet technique, applied clean water to the entire watercolor panel, then randomly dropped in various colours of yellow
from my Gansai Tambi" watercolor paints.  Once dried, used DIY circle stencils from my stash to add white pigment ink and white gouache paint with a sponge dauber through these stencils.   Trimmed the panel down to A2 size and spritz with a shimmer spray for some sparkle.

B0614BD0-81FA-45C4-B1F3-89328EDAF2C4

Next, a piece of clear plastic was trimmed to slightly larger than A2 size.   Added strong double-sided tape along the four sides on the back of the panel.   Remove the release paper from three sides and fold the plastic over and secure.  This will create a pocket with the opening on one end.  Add in the shaker bits , then close off the final side.

850F03AC-C850-4013-A2DB-9C4DD34C5A1D

Mounted the shaker panel to a white card base.   Die cut the letters from gold glitter paper, then adhered on top of the plastic to finish.

Thank you for joining me today.  Have a safe and happy new year!  See you next year!

Spread Cheer Snowman
by Michelle Bala

21

Merry Christmas my crafty friends!!!! I hope you and family are safe and blessed this holiday season!!!
21

Today's card is a mix of new and older releases. I used two patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad, Dashing Holiday, as the base. Attach the ribbon and create the bow. The bow is made from a separate piece of ribbon and adhered later. Die cut the snowman and use the mid sized Double Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a frame around the snowman. I used the largest Double Stitched Rectangle Die to create the frame.
21

After I assembled the card, I embossed the sentiments from the stamp set, Festive Christmas Greetings. I adhered the die cut elements and sentiment strips with foam adhesive. I added some clear fairy drops. I embellished the bow with some bakers twine and bells. Adhere the bow with a glue gun.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas-y dies are great for holiday thank you cards too!  Layer a traditional snowman  over a frosty Flurries Wide Washi Tape background and add pretty pink accessories to create a sweet snowgal to say thanks for holiday gifts and thoughtfulness.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here...Cheers to everyone celebrating tomorrow!

MemoryBoxOvalSnowmanCollage, MemoryBoxThankYouPoshScript, MemoryBoxDelicatePastelGlitterPad, MemoryBoxEarthNeutral6x6, MemoryBoxWrappedStitchRectangles, MemoryBoxBrightJewels, PoppystampsFlurriesWideWashiTape, JeanOkimoto, HandmadeChristmasCards, SnowmanCards, SnowflakeCards, DiecutCards, MakeCards, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut white cardstock with the largest Wrapped Stitch Rectangles die.  Cut the rectangle with the Oval Snowman Collage.  Mask the adjacent areas with strips of Post-It notes and color the carrot nose and twiggy arms with markers.

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to pink wool-blend felt and cut the scarf from the collage die set.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives fron saturating it.

The collage set includes a tophat die for a snowman - but we're DIY-ing a poufy, glittery pink hat for the snowgal.  Cut the delicate Thank You Posh Script layer from the pink Delicate Pastel glitter pad sheet - save the offcuts from the O and U.  Attach them behind the snowgal's head - she now has a hat!

Adhere Poppystamps' Flurries Wide Washi Tape to black paper or lightweight cardstock.  Cut a 3-½" x 4" piece of it and run it through a diecut machine to eliminate any air pockets and smooth it out.

Attach the Flurries background the diecut rectangle.  Attach the rectangle to a side-folded white A2 card.

Cut the greeting background from a gray 6x6 sheet in the Earth Neutrals Collection.  Attach it behind the pink greeting.  Attach the greeting to the card.  Add orange jewels.

As always, thank you for your loyal and continuing support of Memory Box throughout the years.  We appreciate your selection of our products for your creative projects! Adding my personal thanks too - for your thoughtful comments here and on social media.

Thanks for visiting - Happy Holidays if you're celebrating tomorrow!

Joy Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_0628 (1)

Good morning everyone!

Today I have one final Christmas card for you.  I left this design fairly simple because I realized I needed a few more cards.

I stamped and white heat embossed my image onto red cardstock.  Next, I inked the edges of the cardstock with Aged Mahogany and Black Soot Distress Inks.  I used gold ink to add some ink splatters to the card.

IMG_0629 (1)

Next, I adhered the card front to a white and black cardstock mat and used foam tape to glue it to a white card base.

I stamped the word "JOY" with Versa Mark Ink on white cardstock, gold heat embossed it, and then die cut it.

I stamped Holiday Greetings and white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock.

Using foam tape I adhered the word "JOY" to the card and glued the black sentiment strip underneath it.

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

Last Minute Merry Christmas Cards
by Anne Thompson

On Sunday evening I realized that I needed eight more Merry Christmas cards for Monday morning.  What to do?!  Watercolor Forest Washi Tape, two dies, and some pearls to the rescue!

IMG_3437-ink

materials used

  • white notecards
  • WT500 WATERCOLOR FOREST GREENERY WIDE WASHI TAPE, 4.5 inches wide by 11 yards roll
  • MERRY CHRISTMAS POSH SCRIPT 94584
  • PP1018 WOODSY PLAID 6X6 PACK
  • white cardstock
  • CURLED HOLLY BRANCH 94599
  • small white pearls

IMG_3432-ink
to make these cards

IMG_3435-ink

  • Cover white notecards with the Washi Tape, smoothing out the tape as you go so there are no wrinkles. Because the tape is wider than an A2 notecard, trim the extra.
  • Die cut the background for the Merry Christmas Posh Script from one of the brown plaid papers.  Because of the length of this sentiment, I reoriented the cards with the fold at the top edge before adhering it to the card front.  I used a glue pen for this.
  • Die cut the detailed words from white cardstock and glue them to the background piece.
  • Die cut the Curled Holly Branch from one of the green plaid papers and use Glue Dots behind some of the leaves to add one to each card.
  • Add the white pearls on the berry circles on the holly branches.

IMG_3437-ink

Phew!  All my cards are made and on their way, including some Winter Solstice cards to celebrate the turning of the seasons.  I am so looking forward to the returning of the light as the days grow longer little bit by little bit.

May the New Year bring you joy.

Happy Crafting!

Holiday Highlights with Gold, Glitter and Gems by Jean Okimoto

Gold Polished Foil adds a jeweled, faceted look to the Large Pine Cone diecuts on a holiday slimline card.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with my last Christmas card of the year - and some tips for assembling pinecones and poinsettias.

MemoryBoxLargePineCone, MemoryBoxHollyBundle, MemoryBoxLayeredPoinsettia, MemoryBoxDiagonalStripeCollage, MemoryBoxPineNeedleTrio, MemoryBoxSlimBasicRactangleLayers, MemoryBoxPolishedFoilPack, MemoryBoxGlitzyGlitterPad, MemoryBoxBerryRed6x6, MemolryBoxLushGreen6x6, MemoryBoxAutumnFairyCrystals, MemoryBoxGarland6x6, JeanOkimoto, HandmadeChristmasCards, Papercrafts, HolidayDiecuts, SlimlineCards, PoinsettiaCards, DiecutCards, 6x6Papers, ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Cut white cardstock with the largest Slim Basic Rectangles die.  Cut the rectangle with the Diagonal Stripe Collage.  Attach a strip of the dark green Garland 6x6 floral strip behind the cutout.  Attach the rectangle to a slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-⅝").

Cut Large Pine Cone from the gold Polished Foil sheet - leave the diecuts in the die to keep them in sequence for assembly.  Here's a tip - attach doublestick tape to a narrow strip of scrap cardstock (about ⅜" x 3-½") - then attach the diecut pieces to the adhesive-covered strip beginning at the bottom.  That's easier than attaching the pieces to each other - a lot easier!  I attached the pieces closer than they are on the envelope illustration for a more compact look. Cut Layered Poinsettia from a dark pink sheet in the Berry Red Collection.  Cut two of the tiny 3-pointed center sections from a gold sheet in the Glitzy Glitter Pad.  Another tip - cut or punch a 1 or 1-¼" circle of scrap cardstock.  Cover it with adhesive and use it as a base to assemble the poinsettia.

Cut Pine Needle Trio from a light green sheet in the Lush Green Collection.  Cut Holly Bundle from a slightly darker Lush Green sheet - we're using just 2 of the leaves here.

Assemble the card and add 3 of the pinkish Autumn Fairy Crystals.  Cut a slimline-sized piece of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Hope you've enjoyed the holiday ideas from our Design Team!  I've used each new die and stamp set at least once in the past few weeks.  Some - like Layered Poinsettia, Holly Bundle and Pine Needle Trio have quickly become new favorites!

Thanks for visiting...see you again on December 24th!
