Sleigh Ride Winter Scene Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a winter card today featuring the Horse and Sleigh die set.  I love making winter scenes and this die set is perfect for the wintery feel.

Horse and Sleigh:

Die cut the horse from heavy white card stock.  Ink blend from the outside in first time Distress Tea Dye, Gathered Twigs, and then just a little Walnut stain around the outside only.  Take a fine tip black marker and add an eye and color in the hooves.  Take a light charcoal pencil and add additional shading to define the horse features.  Die but the sleigh out of black card stock.  Die cut out the bottom blade from silver paper from the Polished Foil pad and trim off any excess to leave just the blade.  Die cut the top of the sleigh from heavy white card stock and trim off the bottom.  Ink blanket the sleigh from the outside in Distress Oxide ink first with Festive Berry and then Age Mahogany around the outside.  Glue the blade and top of the sleigh on the black sleigh.

Die cut the 2 pcs of the smallest and 1 pc of 2nd smallest Square Basics set die out of heavy white card stock.  Ink blend from the outside in with Distress Oxides, Blue Print Sketch, Mustard Seed, and Rustic Forrest.  Die cut the bows from the Crisp Bows from red, yellows and green paper from the Glitzy Glitter pad.  Glue the bows on the square die cuts.  Trim off the end of the ribbon and use it to make a horizontal ribbon.  Glue the presents into the Sleigh.

Die cut the Pine Needle Trio from the darkest green in the Lush Green paper pad. I used the full sheet only cutting the largest pine needle die 3 times.  Add dries white glue to the tips off the pine needles and cover with white and silver mixed embossing power.  Heat set.  Repeat for all pine needles "trees"

Ink blend a 4" x 5 1/4" white card panel with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass ink lengthwise.  Don't over blend and leaving the ink blotchy.  Add Snowspeckle Wide Washi tape over the top to create the perfect snow fall sky.

Snow Banks:

Cut a 5 1/4"x2.5" strip of white heavy card stock.  Trim off the top to create a snow bank.  Add dries white glue to the top and cover with the embossing powder used no the pine needles.  Heat set.  Add foam tape to the bottom of the snow bank.  Cut a 51/4" x 3/4" strip of white heavy card stock.  Trim off the top leaving a little wavy look.  Stamp Spread and Cheer from the Festive Christmas Greeting stamp set.  Add the same embossing power to the top of the paper strip and heat set.  Glue 2 smaller strips to the bottom portion of the snow bank.

Use a A2 card base and adhere an A2 size card panel out of silver Polished Foil paper.  Adhere the snowy sky panel to the center.  Adhere the larger snow bank to the bottom and then the smaller snow bank on top.  Add a piece of foam tape to the top of the sleigh and glue to the bottom of the blade and adhere to the top snow bank.  For the horse add 2 pieces of card stock to the back of the body and glue to the hooves and adhere to the top snow bank.  Add the. Pine Needle die cuts to the background around the sleigh and horse.

Adore this card! Love the horse and sleigh.

Great winter theme card!

Really pretty design. Clever to use the boughs as trees!
