Peaceful Serene Bird
by Angie Cimbalo

Close left

Hello and welcome! I'm up on the Memory Box blog today with this lovely holiday card using lots of products from both the 2021 and 2020 Holiday releases on this one card. Here's a another look:

First I took the EF1021 Stunning Mandala 3D Embossing Folder and an through debased side using Versamark and clear embossing powder then melting it with heat gun for a glossy look. Then I ran and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink pad over the raised areas. That created the backdrop for my card.

I cut the 94482 Knotted Circle Wreaths craft die from black and white and pieced it together for a frame for my bird. The greenery behind the bird is a combination of 94481 Forest Pine Branch craft die and 94487 Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs craft die, all die cut and inked with different concentrations of the same Distress Ink. The bird die is from the 94620 Serene Bird and Branch craft die, cut from glitter paper from the GP1008 Majestic Hues Glitter Pad. The sentiment was stamped heat embossed in white and popped up on foam tape. It's from the CL5273D Festive Christmas Greetings clear stamp and die set.  Lastly I added some berries with some Christmas Fairy Crystals.

Here's a couple more views:

Hollyday Greetings
by Trina Pham

1139DC3B-13FE-452A-8D29-D9D9B21DE73C

Hello and happy Fri-YAY everyone!   This will be a quick post because I have a very easy clean and simple Christmas card to share today.

The Holly Branch was die cut from alcohol marker-friendly cardstock and the berries colored in with Copic markers R24, R46, R89.  The punny sentiment was die cut out of red Polished Foil paper using the Twiggy Alphabet die set.   “Greetings” from Festive Christmas Greetings stamp set was stamped on white cardstock with Barn Door distress oxide ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

745DA3C2-5D3F-4CEB-ABEF-5E2C89136A6C

The Fresh Aqua paper was then trimmed to 4”x5.25”.  Salvaged Patina distress ink was then applied to the top with a blender brush before lightly splattering it with white gouache paint.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

Easy-peasy… and that’s it for today!   Thank you for joining me.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Sparkling Nativity Scene by Jean Okimoto

P1010049

A strip of Madras Plaid updates a traditional holiday scene in shades of blue. Specks of gold and Winter Fantasy Fairy Gemstones balance the frosty colors and add some warmth.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with more holiday ideas from our newest release.

P1010116

Cut and assemble the new Nativity House Frame and truss from the blue 6x6 in the Frosted Glitter Pad. Cut the nativity figures from the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper.

I diecut an ink-blended scrap from my stash for the background and added specks of Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Dry the ink, then attach the background behind the frame.  Tie a gold cord at the top and curl the ends with the side of a bonefolder or the plastic flower burnishing tool.  For best results follow the natural curl of the cord.

Diecut a pale blue 6x6 from the Ocean Blue Collection with the smallest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle.  Cut a a ¾" x 5" strip of the Madras Plaid Blue and Violet sheet.

Cut the smallest Banner Sentiment Trio strip from a slightly darker blue 6x6.  Stamp the greeting -  from the Festive Christmas Greetings Clear Stamp and Die Set - with Paradise VersaFine Clair.

P1010166

Attach everything to an off-white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼") - use foam tape for the greeting.  Add Winter Fantasy Fairy Gemstones.  Cut an A6-sized sheet of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Hope you like this mix of a plaid and a nativity scene - it's the first time I've ever designed a card with a nativity scene.    Thanks for visiting -see you next week.

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing some of the fun Pine Cone dies and Pine Needle dies from Memory Box.

I used: Large Pine Cone Die, Smooth Pine Cones Die, Gentle Pine Needle Sprig, and Pine Needle Trio.

I die cut them using Copic friendly paper. I colored them with Copic Markers in shades G43 G46 G29 (pine needles), E23 E27 E29 (large pine cone),

W2 W3 W4 W5 W6 (small pine cones).

I used the Pinpoint Snowflake Plate Die to emboss a piece of water color paper. I assembled the card and layered the pine cones and pine needles. I added a red twine bow and some Fairy Sugar Glitter Glue in Dewdrop.30

Lastly, I added the Joy Posh Script Die. I used a piece of red glitter from the Glitzy Glitter Pad.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Holiday Sleigh Ride by Jean Okimoto

P1009901

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to cream felt and diecut the horse from the new Horse and Sleigh set.  The paper backing stabilizes and felt and keeps adhesives from saturating the fabric.  Wrap red crochet thread or floss around the horse's neck and tie a knot.  Tie another knot about 2" away - it'll be hidden by the front of the sleigh when the card is assembled.

Cut the tree layers - from the new Snowman House Frame - from the green 6x6 in the Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad.  Assemble the tree and create a trunk with a small section of a flat toothpick.

P1009966

Highlight the texture of the Kraft Woodgrain Paper (it's actually cardstock) with Pearlescent Chocolate Brilliance and an ink pod.  The pod skims the surface of the woodgrain cardstock and emphasizes the design.  Dry the ink and diecut the sleigh.

Cut the Garland 6x6 print with the largest Wrapped Stitch Rectangle die and attach it to a side-folded cream A2 card.

Attach the horse.  Adhere the knotted floss with a drop of glue.  Attach the tree and sleigh - use foamtape for the top tree layer.  Add the translucent white Christmas Fairy Dewdrops.

Cut an A2-sized layer of cardstock to protect the card front for mailing.

Christmas seems to arrive earlier and earlier each year!  Hope you're enjoying - and being inspired by - our Design Team's holiday projects.

Thanks for visiting!

Joy and Cheer Card with Serene Bird and Gentle Pine Needle Sprigs
by Anne Thompson

Today's card is one that can easily be made in multiples and varied by changing the papers used.

IMG_3359-ink

That's it!  To use an assembly line process, cut multiples of everything--circles, the two parts of the Joy and Cheer sentiment, pine needle sprigs, and birds--and have a stack of blank notecards and the sheet of jewels nearby.  The fun will be in arranging what you choose for each card from your stack of materials.

Nativity Pop Up Slider
by Trina Pham

FEB8162D-A877-4C06-B587-45444CB96E6B

Hello and happy Sunday.  I was playing with more goodies from the current Holiday release to create a fun interactive pop-up slider card.

To allow the nativity scene to fit nicely on the card, I  made my first A6 size (6.25”x4.5”) card.  To begin, two pieces of cardstock, one white and one black, were trimmed to A6 size.  The white is the front and the black is the back, essentially forming a closed pocket card.  On the front piece, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord and Black Soot distress inks (DI) were blended on.  Stars were added with a white gel pen.

3694E632-9A23-40A9-A76D-5DDE4B18C4AF

Next, used the 2.5”x7.5” Slim Basic Rectangle die and partial die cut the slider channel, leaving the top uncut across.

BC583CDF-1A92-41F4-B3B3-315AA087696B

Score between those two ends.

5A1BC3BA-9868-461A-A1DE-D2E8F59C5A9A

Took the open cut end next and fold in half up to the score line.  The arrow points to the area in which the pop-up element will adhere to.

2AE1A97B-CD2F-4DA2-A102-5D4EF70C0F6F

Next, traced the slider channel opening onto the back black piece so that the sentiment can be white heat embossed within that area and show when the tab is pulled.

5C2639E9-7764-4399-A447-FC39FA367A13

For the pull tab, a piece of white cardstock was trimmed to 3.5”x6.5” and scored at 0.5” on one end.  Used a pencil to mark 0.5” in from each side, then cut away the two outside squares with scissors.  Could have left it white, but in keeping with the design, ink blended the same colors on it.

066B6B1F-CA28-460B-85D0-6CE804E0C87B

All the pieces (except for the star) from The Nativity House Frame were die cut from black cardstock.  The star was die cut from white glitter paper then colored with a Y000 Copic marker.

CB21AA58-B91A-457C-BAD7-3716D63AD912

The House Frame Background piece was die cut from white cardstock, then Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw DI were blended on to give it that glow.  With all pieces ready now, the card was assembled to finish. The star was suspended above the house by a piece of acetate.

Build a Knotted Circle Wreath base for the new Florentina Wreath and add sprigs of holly, pine and glittered berries. Coordinate it and the greeting with a strip of Madras Plaid Coral and Green in matching shades of pink, peach, coral and green.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with another design from our 2021 Holiday Collection.

Cut Holly Bundle twice from the chartreuse 6x6 in Lush Green Collection.  We're using 2 large and 1 medium leaf here - save the extras for another project.

Cut Pine Needle Trio from the chartreuse 6x6 too.  Trim the largest piece - it'll be the bottom sprig on the completed card.

Cut the berries from a peachy pink 6x6 in the Berry Red Collection.  Shake Sunlit Gold Glitter Glue vigorously, then squirt some onto an acrylic stamp block - a solid, washable surface that's always handy for inky or gluey tasks.  Spread the glitter glue onto 3 berries and set them aside to dry.

Prep the Florentina Wreath and the big Knotted Circle by rubbing them briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the detailed diecuts.  Cut the wreath and circle with two shades of green from the Lush Green 6x6 Collection.  Attach the circle behind the wreath.

Cut a lighter green 6x6 with the 2-¾" x 4" Wrapped Stitch Rectangle die.  Cut a vertical 2" x 6-⅜" strip of the Madras Plaid Coral and Green sheet - there's a bit of extra paper at the top for that  additional ⅜".

Stamp the greeting from the new Yuletide Moments Clear Stamp Set - with Shady Lane VersaFine Clair - on a coral sheet from the Berry Red Collection.  Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.

Attach everything to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-½") - use foamtape for the greeting.

Designing and color selection is easy with the coordinating options available in the 6x6 solids, prints, plaids, polished foils and glittered cardstock.  Hope you're taking advantage of these great papers as you're designing and creating your holiday cards!

Thanks for visiting - see you next week...

Red and Green Holiday Cheer Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have another card using the Pine Needle Trio die set with the white and silver embossing powder.  This time I use the pine needle die cuts as the border framing the Joy and Cheer sentiment die cut.

Sentiment:

Die cut the top  Joy and Cheer die from a dark green glitter paper from the Glitzy Flitter pad.

122AB7C4-0290-4B6C-8B01-E1594C12FCF2

Background:

Ink blend a A2 heavy weight card stock with Distress Oxide Ink. First add Candied Apple all over, then blend around the outside with Festive Berries and then just the outside edge with Aged Mahogany.   Add white splatters with Distress Picket Fence reindeer. Add a few water splatters as well.

Assembly:

Glue the sentiment to the center of the card panel.  Glue the Pine Needles around the outside edge to frame the sentiment.  Trim off the excess.  Adhere the card panel to a heavy weight A2 size card.  Cut a reddish brown from the Earth Neutral pad to A2 size.  Use the 2nd largest die from the Rectangle Basics set to cut a frame.  Adhere the frame to the front of the card.

Thank you and Happy Veterans Day to everyone celebrating today!

The new Gilded Sleigh is now a whitewashed wooden sleigh ready to deliver a DIY Christmas tree.  Felt Resting Birds and Christmas Fairy Jewels add soft texture and sparkle to the Garland 6x6 print.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a holiday mix of classic favorites and designs from our newest release.

Use a large brayer - or an ink pod - to apply a layer of Brilliance Starlite Black ink to White Woodgrain Paper.  Ink pods resemble freeze-dried marshmallows - and skim the surface of textured and/or embossed designs to apply ink to the raised areas.  Dry the ink, then cut the Woodgrain Paper (it's actually cardstock) with the main Gilded Sleigh die.

Sand the silver Polished Foil 6x6 sheet with a medium sanding block or sandpaper to give it a weathered, worn look to match the wooden sleigh.  Cut the runner and top trim from the distressed foil paper.  Assemble the sleigh.

Cut two big branches of the Pine Needle Trio from the green Festive Glitter Pad sheet.  Layer them - slightly offset - and trim the branches to create a Christmas tree.  Tape the tree behind the sleigh.

Attach adhesive label paper or a sticker sheet to red felt and diecut Resting Birds.  The paper backing stabilizes the felt and keeps adhesives from saturating it.

Cut the Garland 6x6 print with the largest Wrapped Stitch Rectangle die.  Attach it to a side-folded red A-2 card.  The bright red card emphasizes the wrapped stitches.  Assemble the card and attach green Christmas Fairy Jewels.

Cut the Joy and Cheer background from a sheet in the Lush Green Collection.  Cut the delicate words from the red Polished Foil Pack sheet.

Add texture to diecuts and give them a bright new look - or as we did here, a weathered, vintage appearance.  Trim pine branches and create a Christmas tree too. It's easy to add special details and a unique look to your Memory Box designs!

Thanks for visiting...see you again this weekend -
