Hello everyone! Today's card features a technique that I saw on Gina K Designs, Youtube channel called Carved Wood Technique.
I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". On the 4" side I scored my paper every 1/2".
Next, I took 3 brown ink pads and starting with the lightest, I dragged the inkpad down the front of the paper (my scored lines are recessed). I repeated this step with all 3 colors. This gives the paper a wood grained look.
Next, I placed the inked paper into the Stunning Mandala 3D embossing folder. I made sure to place it in the folder so the embossing would be raised on the inked side of the cardstock.
Once it was embossed, I rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the embossed areas to make them stand out.
Next, I die cut the sleigh and horse from black cardstock.
The trees where die cut from green cardstock, glued together and a white gel pen was used to add snow to them.
The word Joy was die cut from red foil cardstock and the shadow from vellum. I glued the foil word on top of the vellum shadow.
I stamped the sentiment on a white strip of cardstock, inked the edges lightly with brown ink and mounted it on a strip of black cardstock.
I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment strip to the card. Next, I used foam tape to glue the sleigh and horse on top of the sentiment strip.
The trees were glued in place behind the sleigh, and the word Joy was adhered to the top right corner of the card.
To finish the card I added some fairy crystals and gemstones to the top of the trees.
Thanks for stopping by today!

This is a WOW card. Everything about it invokes feelings of the holidays. What a clever way to incorporate several of the MB dies; the Mandala embossing folder background really gives this card a very unique look.
