Hello there! Happy Halloween to you!!! Michelle here, sharing a spooky cute card! I layered the Haunted Entrance Dome Layer Die over the Winter Tree Oval Frame Die. The sentiments are from the stamp set, Halloween Pumpkin.

I die cut both the Winter Tree and Haunted Entrance and colored the images with Copic Markers.

Grass: YG23 YG25 YG17 G28; Trees: E27 E29; Windy Sky: B63 B66 B69; Pumpkins: YR04 YR07 YR09 YG17; Bats and Gate: C5 C7 C8;

Oval Frame: B69; Dome Frame: C3.

I assembled the layers using foam adhesive. I added some Silver Lumina Glitter Glue to the bats and gates. I embossed the sentiments onto a piece of blue paper from the Ocean Blue Collection.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy your day with family and friends!

Two Cards with Contempo Holly Die
by Angie Cimbalo

Joy Holly 2
Hello and welcome!  I'm up on the Memory Box blog today with two cards featuring the Contempo Holly Die from Memory Box.  This die comes with a coordinating stencil but I didn't use that part for my cards today.  Here's another look at my first card:

Joy Holly 2

I cut the die from both white card stock and turquoise glitter paper from the "Festive Glitter Pad" and then used both of these to create my two cards.  I trimmed the branch and edges of the holly leaves from the main die cut and interchanged them with each other.  And I took a 2.25" of both turquoise and white card to complete the right sides of each card.  Then I paper pieced the leaves inside the holly leaf frames.

The sentiments are both from "Festive Christmas Greetings" stamp and die set, stamped in Versamark Ink, heat embossed in white and cut with the coordinating dies.

Lastly I added some Fairy Sugar drops in "Ruby Crystal" color.

Here's one last look at my first card:

Joy Holly 2

Here's a look at my second card:

Joy Holly 2

I decided to make this card a landscape version, unlike the portrait version on my first card.
I really like how these turned out because the glitter paper is so fantastic, you don't need a lot else on the cards!  Here's one last look at my 2nd and last card:

Joy Holly 2

Look at the depth of color of that glitter paper!  And that's just one of the colors in the pad, there are lots of gorgeous colors in the Memory Box of glitter papers.

I hope you like my cards for today!  I had so much fun making them!  Be sure to check out all of the wonderful new products in the 2021 Memory Box Holiday Release!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Boo Card
by Donna Sledzik

IMG_0087 (1)

Happy Friday everyone!  I had to make one more card for Halloween, since we're celebrating it this weekend!

To make the card, I applied Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks onto my craft mat, misted it with plain water, and dragged watercolor paper through the ink.  I used a heat tool to dry it and repeated the process until I was happy with the background.  When it was dry I spattered it with black ink.

I cut a 1" strip off of the long side of the paper and glued both pieces to a black cardstock mat.  Next, I glued the background to a white card base.

IMG_0088

I die cut the word "boo" and the bats from black cardstock and white heat embossed "to you" on a strip of black cardstock.

The pumpkin was cut once from orange cardstock and once from white cardstock.  The handle was cut from black cardstock.

I sponged the edges of the pumpkin with Vintage Photo Distress ink and glued it to the white die cut pumpkin, slightly shifting it to create a shadow.  I adhered a scrap of black cardstock behind the pumpkin.

IMG_0091

I glued the word "boo" to the left side of the card and used foam tape to adhere the pumpkin and word strip to the card.  I applied glue only to the bats body and adhered them to the card.

To finish, I added some Fairy Gemstones to the card.  That's it for today!

Have a Happy Halloween!

Emboss and Double-Ink the Stunning Mandala by Jean Okimoto

P1009441

Define and highlight the intricate design of the Stunning Mandala with layers of contemporary fall colors.  3D-embossing creates the details and Distress Oxides add soft, blended colors. Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a design to celebrate, congratulate or brighten a rainy fall day.

P1009409

Cut a 4-½" x 6" rectangle of smooth white cardstock.  Brush or sponge circular overlapping layers of Distress Oxides onto the cardstock.  Refer to the pattern on the smoother side of the Stunning Mandala 3D Embossing Folder. Start with a center circle of kitsch flamingo, surround it with dried marigold, finish it off with abandoned coral.  The ink names aren't capitalized on the labels, so I just follow their lead.

Apply bundled sage distress oxide to the smoother pattern of the embossing folder - skim the inkpad over the design to ink it thoroughly without inking the recessed areas.  Spritz the reverse side of the inked rectangle - 4 quick sprays, about 12" away.

Place the rectangle in the folder -inked cardstock facing the inked side of the folder.  Run it thru the diecut machine using the plate(s) required for your machine.  I use the thin embossing plate and 2 layers of heavy cardstock as a shim on my Spellbinders machine.

Heat-set the inks.  Trim it to about 2-¾" x 5"

Cut a ¾" x 3" strip of the pale orange sheet from the Sunny Orange Collection.  Cut a ¾" x 3-¼" strip of the light copper  Majestic Hues 6x6 sheet.  Cut a ¾" x 3-½" strip of the pink Berry Red Collection sheet.  Attach the strips to a cream slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").

P1009417

Stamp the greeting - from the Signature Greetings Clear Stamp and Die Set - on cream cardstock with Melon Impress Fresh Ink.  Heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.  Trim the cooled cardstock with the matching die from the set.  Cut a blank greeting background from a darker pink Berry Red sheet and layer the diecuts (offset) for dimension.  Attach the greeting with foamtape.

Cut accent dots from the glittered sheet using the Slim Confetti Plate.  It's a great plate for slimline backgrounds and card fronts - and it's even better for cutting glittered cardstock, felt and specialty papers for design elements.

3D Embossing Folders create great backgrounds and focal points - use the embossed design as is for subtle, textured backgrounds - or add multicolored layers of ink for a brighter look.

Sending Happy Retirement wishes to Roxanne, owner of Stamps and Memories in Hawaii for 21 years!  She and Anne shared their creativity and inspiration on great cards, layouts, mixed media designs, invitations and party favors.  Thanks for featuring Memory Box, Poppystamps and Birch Press Design in your store!

Thanks for visiting...have a safe and Happy Hallloween if you're celebrating this weekend!

Purple Birthday Wish Wreath Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a purple on purple leafy wreath birthday card.  The dark purple glitter paper from the Festive Glitter pad matched the new Distress Ink color had to create a card using both.  This card could easily be changed into a Halloween card as well.

F5044E1E-8A98-4505-BFA2-C6C9555BDB61_1_201_a

Wreath:

Spray Memory Box Watercolor paper with Distress Villainous Potion Oxide and normal sprays.  Spray another watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac and lightly with Distress Villainous Potion spay.  Dry.  Die cut the branch from the Serene Bird and Branch out of the sprayed papers and the dark purple glitter paper from the Festive Glitter pad 6 times each.  Take the 2nd and 3rd largest circle dies from the Circle Basics Set and die cut from black card stock to create a circle frame.  Glue the branch around the circle frame alternating the branches.

Background:

Take a 5" x5" heavy white card stock paper and ink blend with Distress Shady Lilac Oxide ink all over.  Then ink blend Distress Villainous Potion Oxide from the outside avoid the center.  Ink blend Distress Villainous Potion just around the outside.  Go back over with each color until you have a dark to light blend.  Ink blend Distress Black shoot just around the outside edge to frame the paper.

Sentiment:

Die the the letter WISH from the Twiggy Alphabet die set from the dark purple glitter paper from the Festive Glitter pad.

Nativity Scene Two Ways
by Michelle Bala

26

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing the new Nativity House Frame Die, Bennet Alphabet Die and Slim Pinpoint Burst Plate Die.  Whether you like to color your die cuts or keep them one basic shade, the Nativity House Frame is perfect for either.
26

For both cards I began with the Slim Pinpoint Burst Plate Die. I inked it up with tumbled glass and prize ribbon distress oxide inks. I die cut the Alphabet and colored the base with Copic Markers. I die cut the top layer using a piece of cardstock from the Ocean Blue 6x6 Pack. I die cut the star from the Majestic Hues Glitter Pad. I die cut the Nativity Frame using the Woodgrain Paper Pack in cream and kraft. I used Copic Markers to color the palm trees and Holy Family.

I followed the same process for the white card only used a silver glitter sheet to add depth.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Let It Snow and the Gilded Sleigh
by Anne Thompson

When I looked at the Gilded Sleigh 94609 I decided it was the perfect die to use with the beautiful Memory Box Glitter Pad papers.  These are the four cards I made.

IMG_3338-ink

They are all basically constructed in the same way, so let's look at one up close and the procedures I used.

IMG_3339-ink

  • Begin with a white notecard and cover the front with one of the plaid papers from PP1018 WOODSY PLAID.
  • Die cut the three pieces of the GILDED SLEIGH 94609 from various glitter papers.  I used ones from GP1007 GLITZY GLITTER PAD, GP1006 FESTIVE GLITTER PAD, and GP1008 MAJESTIC HUES GLITTER PAD.  For this first sleigh I used the same gold for the three pieces but mixed colors on the other sleigh cards.
  • Adhere the sleigh to the front of the card.  I used a glue pen and Scor-Tape.
  • Die cut the HOLLY BUNDLE 94610 from glitter paper.  I used gold and greens.  Stick them together with Glue Dots and add to the sleigh with Scor-Tape.  I find that Scor-Tape works well when bonding anything to glitter paper.
  • Add three red berries from either CRY102 CHRISTMAS FAIRY CRYSTALS or DDP101 CHRISTMAS FAIRY DEWDROPS.
  • For this card I used just the fine lettering from LET IT SNOW POSH SCRIPT 94583 cut from the same gold glitter paper.  On the other cards I also used the backing outline die cut in the same glitter paper as the sleigh and the fine lettering in either gold or red to coordinate with each card.
  • For the inside of the card I cut the HORSE AND SLEIGH 94596 from glitter paper scraps.

Add glitter, dimension and a wide washi tape backdrop to the new Layered Poinsettia on a crisp white slimline card.  Sections of the beautiful Watercolor Forest Greenery 4-½" wide washi tape create a natural setting for a great new holiday item.  Happy weekend, Jean Okimoto here with a simple way to highlight our newest release.

Cut Layered Poinsettia from a bright red 6x6 in the Berry Red Collection.  Vigorously shake the bottle of Ruby Crystal Glitter Glue.  Squirt a blob of glitter glue onto each section and spread the glue with your finger to add a sparkly, glossy layer and highlight the texture.  Set the pieces aside to dry.

Punch or cut a 1" circle of the red cardstock to use as a base.  Crease the petals along the center.  Attach them to the circle base. Cut the center portion from a yellow 6x6 in the Sunny Orange Collection. Attach the tiny yellow center pieces.

Cut the Merry Christmas Posh Script background twice from white cardstock.  Pressure-emboss one white diecut with the delicate Merry Christmas die and the plate(s) and rubber embossing mat required for your machine.  Cut the delicate section from a dark green 6x6 in the Lush Green Collection. Attach the pressure embossed white diecut over the un-embossed diecut.  Attach the green diecut. Pressure embossing the background adds dimension and simplifies attaching the delicate green layer. Attach Watercolor Forest Greenery Wide Washi Tape to white cardstock. Cut it with the medium-sized die from the Stylish Rectangle Trio.  Remove the narrow triangle offcuts - leave everything else in the die.  Attach narrow strips of lined double-stick tape to the diecuts.  Remove the tape liners and press the diecuts firmly onto a white slimline card (8-½" x 3-½").  Use a paper piercing tool to help release it.

Attach the poinsettia and greeting.  Add red Christmas Fairy Crystals.

Cover the card front with a slimline-sized layer of cardstock to protect the card for mailing.

Hope you'll have a chance to create some holiday cards this weekend...see you again tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting...

Oval Snowman Tunnel Card
by Trina Pham

79459407-A48D-49FF-8A66-1DE290A1E936

Hello there.  I have a fun Christmas card to share today.  When I saw the Oval Snowman Collage die from the Holiday release, I thought it would make a great tunnel card, or now commonly known as a center picture window card.

A3B6BD33-7405-4459-A07A-7C65250D0179

As you can see, I kept the front of the card super simple.  For a bit of dimension and texture, an A2 sized piece of white cardstock was dry embossed with the new Ringadings 3D embossing folder.  To keep the card shut when closed, a belly band was created using Circle Basics dies, the new Let It Snow Posh Script die, the new Woodsy Plaid 6x6 paper and black cardstock.  The script sentiment was die cut from Bristol paper 3x and stacked.  A 1.25”Wx8.5”L strip was then trimmed from black cardstock and wrapped around the card (not too tightly) and the ends hidden and sandwiched in between the plaid and black circles.  When the belly band is slid off, the fun begins!  *lol*😂

0961128A-943F-4826-8922-609C5AD947E0

The snowman layer is Bristol paper cut to the same size (5.5”x8.5”) as the card base.  Ink blended Tumbled Glass and Blueprint Sketch distress inks (DI) on the top portion, splattered with water and blot with a paper towel.  Score down along the long side at 2.25”, 4.25” and 6.25”, then use these scored lines as guides to die cut the Oval Snowman Collage in the middle.  Next, valley fold, mountain fold and valley fold the score lines to get this.

523E6887-2B14-43C4-96AD-211CA3262C95

A quick note… after taking the process photo above, more ink was added to the top portion in the final card.  Now onto the second layer beneath.  Started with a piece of Bristol paper measuring 5.5”H x4”W.  Scored vertically on each side at 0.25” and down the middle at 2”.  Used these scored lines as guides to partial die cut the Evergreen Sky Collage that was released last year.  The opening of this die is larger than the snowman one, so partial diecutting was needed to bring the trees closer together behind the snowman.

E209CC61-F015-4FE1-845F-D71739DB8FFD

Used scissors next to cut out at the top.  It doesn’t matter what this looks like because it’s going to be hidden behind the snowman layer anyway.

7D35F039-923D-497B-99D3-8892A59E9947

On the white card base, ink blended Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass DI, then splattered with white gouache paint.  This is what will show through the “tunnel” when completed.

3C69DEF9-2C89-4B5D-9D1E-5D9BCAF5C3E8

Began assembling the card, starting with the back layer.  The middle score lines make it super easy to line up.

96213192-279B-4491-A0CF-58EC1940A613

The deer is from last year’s Snowglobe Backer die and was a leftover piece in my stash.  I should mention that all colouring/shading were done with Copic markers.  Drew in the snowman’s eyes and mouth with a fine black marker.

E36EE9D9-24C5-4EA1-9749-8F011255F288

The Oval Snowman Collage die does come with a top hat/scarf combo die.  I just thought a plaid beanie/toque would look cuter and more suitable, so I used the second smallest circle die in the Circle Basics set to partial die cut his hat from the plaid paper.

0BEAA1CC-4F36-4B21-A883-7E73607A155A

I’ve been fighting a cold, so I hope I made sense. *lol*😂  If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comment section below.  And that does it for me.  Thank you for joining me today.  Enjoy your weekend.
