Thank You
by Michelle Bala

42

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a card that focuses on the simple, but beautiful Eucalyptus Collage Craft Die.  I combined it with the Wrapped

Stitch Rectangles Die and the Thank You Posh Script Die.

41

I made my card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 from kraft cardstock. I trimmed a second piece of kraft cardstock slightly larger than the card base. Secured the Wrapped Stitched Rectangles Die and die cut. Next, secure the Eucalyptus Collage Die in the center. Die cut the image.  I used Prismacolor Pencils to color the branch. I die cut the sentiment from the same kraft cardstock and used the same color pencils to add color. I adhered the top die cut panel to the card base with foam tape. Adhere the sentiment with glue. For a finishing touch I added some Bright Jewels gems.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Flower Bouquet Thank You Card
by Sara Cook

Hi everyone.  I have a monochromatic bouquet Thank You card for today.  I have seen so many beautiful cards like this and wanted to try one with some fall colors and the spring released flower dies.  I used cream and light orange to create a late summer/early fall feeling.

Woodgrain Background:

Die cut the Wood Grain Planks, twice, from the cream color Woodgrain card stock.  Paint each plank with Ranger Vintage Collage Medium and let dry.  Then paint with Gansai Tambi Champagne Gold to create a glitter effect.  Let dry.  Glue the planks lengthwise on a side folded A2 size card base.  Make sure to stager the planks so the seams do not line up.

Flower Bouquet:

Die cut the following flowers from the light orange oar from Sunny Orange paper pack; Lavender Stems, Daisy Stems, Wildflower Stems, and Seed Stems.  I was able to arrange all dies on 1 sheet of paper and die cut it at one time to save time.  Splatter the die cuts with the Gansai Tambi Champagne Gold to add some of the same glitter to the focal point.  Let dry.  Arrange the bouquet until you get a good arrangement and tie with twine.  Add glue to the back of the twine and stem and glue 1 string and trim. Take the other end, add more glue to the back of the knot and wind the twine.  Trim an hold in place until the glue dries.

Sentiment:

Die cut the Thank You Streamlined Script die from the same light orange paper as the flowers from the Sunny Orange paper pack.

Assembly:

Cut 3 strips of clothe strips slightly smaller then the length of the card.  Fray the edges of each strip.  Glue on to the lower half of the card.  Fray and trim the clothe until it looks organic.  Glue on the bouquet of flowers to the left side of the card.  Arrange flowers and foliage and then glue some in place and leave some floating.  Glue the Thank You die cut on top of the clothe.

Add color and dimension to your designs with colorful stamped diecuts of the Memory Box 6x6 cardstock collections.  Chose from 108 great colors of 110# cardstock designed to coordinate with our plaids and prints.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an easy way to create quick, colorful collage-y cards.

The 6x6 Collections were introduced this Spring and quickly became a favorite source of great coordinating colors for stamping and diecutting.  They're the perfect match for our prints, washi tapes and glittered cardstock from previous collections too.  They are colored on both sides for versatility.

Refuse to Sink
by Angie Cimbalo

Hello and welcome, it's Angie here today with a really fun mini slimline encouragement card.

All of the many die cut pieces came from these dies, including the little circles I used for bubbles.

Deepwater Collage Die
Coral and Kelp Ribbon Dies
Kelp Collage Dies
Bubble Coral Collage Die
School of Fish Die
You Anchor Me Stamp Set

Here's a closer look at my card:

The kept and coral were all cut from watercolor card that had been colored with Distress Inks and Lindy's Magicals and so were the fish.

The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder on black card stock, then trimmed with scissors.  Some of the fish were popped up on foam tape and others were adhered with glue.
Here's a few more views:

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Haunting

IMG_3559

Happy Friday everyone!  For today's card I used the castle stamp and turned it into a Haunted House.  It's a great way to get the most out of your everyday stamps.

Let's make the card:

  • Create a blended background on white cardstock using Distress Oxide inks.

IMG_3526

  • Lightly spritz with plain water and blot with a dry paper towel.
  • Stamp the castle on white cardstock and color with colored pencils.  Ink the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink, and die cut the image with the coordinating die.
  • Die cut the ghosts and moon from white cardstock and lightly ink the edges with Black Soot Distress ink.  Add a little bit of Mustard Seed Distress ink to the moon.
  • Die cut the gates and tree branches from black cardstock.
  • Stamp and white heat emboss the Happy Haunting on a strip of black cardstock.

IMG_3560

  • Glue the moon and the branches to the card.
  • Next, adhere the ghosts and the railings to the back of the haunted house and glue it to the card.
  • Use foam tape to adhere the sentiment under the haunted house.
  • Glue the card front to a black cardstock mat and adhere it to a white card base.
  • Use a thin lined black marker to add cracks to the windows.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Balloon from a Cursive Script Circle by Jean Okimoto

P1007819

Cut Thanks Cursive Script Circle from the lime green Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad.  Wiggle and pull the offcut areas away from the diecut - that's easier than vice-versa.  Cut the bottom section of the large Balloon Bunch balloon from the lime green glittered 6x6 too. Cut the yellow-green 6x6 from the Lush Green Collection with the 2-¼" Circle Basics die.  Attach the solid circle behind the Thanks Cursive Script Circle.  Attach the glittered bottom piece behind the solid circle to form a thanks balloon.

Cut the two smaller balloons from 6x6 sheets in the Berry Red Collection.  Attach the thanks balloon to the smaller balloons with foamtape.  Tape white twine behind the balloons and tie them together near the bottom.

Cut the dark green 6x6 Lush Green sheet with a portion of the 2"x7" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cut the 6x6 Madras Plaid Coral and Green sheet with a portion of the 1.7" x 6.7 Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Cutting precise rectangles with the Slim dies - or portions of the dies - is easier than measuring and cutting rectangles with a paper trimmer.

Cut the pale orange 6x6 from the Sunny Orange Collection with the smallest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles die.

P1007836

Attach the diecuts to a vertially-grained slimline card of Cream Woodgrain cardstock - use a double layer of foamtape at the top of the thanks balloon.  The Woodgrain cardstock adds texture but doesn't overwhelm the other design elements.

Color Clear Jewels with pink and orange Sharpie or Copic Markers and attach them to the smaller balloons.  5 of them instead of my usual 3!

Special thanks to everyone who bought all of last week's BLOOMERS Card Kit from Impress - I appreciate your support!  Stamps and Memories in Hawaii ordered kits too. Hope you'll experiment with beautiful Memory Box colors and papers to create unique cards inspired by the cards.  Thanks for ordering the kits Ann and Roxy!

Thanks for visiting...see you again this weekend!

You Rule Layered Castle
by Michelle Bala

21

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a layered castle card. All Memory Box supplies are linked below.

21

The trick to getting the layers to line up is to trim the each paper the same size than secure the die to the direct center of each paper. When assembling the layers I line them up first than trim the excess from the side, if any. Assemble the layers with foam tape, except the first layer/ or base layer. Adhere that directly to the card base.
21

For the top panel, I framed the castle layeres with the Double Stitched Rectangles Die. I also used some elements from the Majestic Achievements stamp set. I added some Bright Jewels to give shimmer.

Thanks for stopping by!

White Focal Point Floral Chain Thinking of You Cards
by Anne Thompson

This month's challenge on the Outside the Box blog is to use a white focal point so I challenged myself to make three such cards using the FLORAL CHAIN die 94542 for that white focal point image.

IMG_3271-ink

materials used

IMG_3278-ink

Let's look at one card close up to see the steps I took to make it.

IMG_3277-ink

I started with a white notecard and added a piece of black/white checked paper from the Christmas Plaid pack trimmed 4 X 5.25.

I cut the Floral Chain twice, once from white cardstock and once from a dark gray from the Earth Neutrals pack.  I used Glue Dots on the gray flower centers and adhered the white flowers on top set off just a bit for a gray shadow.  I used more Glue Dots to attach the chain to the card front at an angle.

I cut two of the medium-sized banners, one from white cardstock and one from the dark gray.  I used the VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the "Thinking of You" sentiment on the white banner before adding it on top of the dark gray one and attached the finished banner with Glue Dots to the notecard.

I added some large black gems to the flower centers and one to the sentiment banner to finish the card.

The other two cards are made in the same way but with red plaids, red cardstock, and red or green Fairy Jewels.

Do you have people that you send cards to regularly?  I have a list and mail cards usually every Wednesday to three friends who have moved into assisted living or rehabilitation facilities.  I hope these three cards this week will help to brighten their days.

And if you haven't entered our monthly challenge on the blog I encourage you to do so--with a white focal point.

Happy Crafting?

Floral Chain Wreath Birthday
by Trina Pham

A2B1B7C3-052D-41F8-BCEA-73083510B8BF

Hello everyone.  I decided to deconstruct the Floral Chain from the Sumner Daydreams release to create a colourful rainbow wreath birthday card for a friend’s birthday next month.

The Floral Chain was die cut from Bristol paper then cut apart with scissors.   Kept a few of the fuller flowers then die cut out more individual flowers with one end of the die to complete the wreath.  Used finger brushes to apply distress inks (DI) to the centers and edges of the petals in rainbow colours.  Curled and shaped the petals with my fingers, then lightly spritz with water from behind since DI reacts with water.  Set aside to dry.

35D8850D-1EF2-4914-9D79-53CFA4DDF01B

The background panel is cream woodgrain paper trimmed to A2 size (4.25”x5.5”) and scored horizontally in 1” increments using a scoring tool.  The sentiment from Signature Greetings was heat embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock then die cut out with the coordinating die.  Next, a circle frame was die cut from more of the cream woodgrain paper using dies from Circle Basics.  This frame is what the flowers were attached to and ensured the circular wreath shape.

216F9F7E-19F7-45D0-853A-FF4F70827F95

Assembled the card onto a white card base, popping the sentiment up with mounting tape.  Clear shimmer on the flowers and coordinating color jewels to the flower centers finished off the card.

And that’s it!  Thank you for joining me today.  Have a wonderful week.

Flowering Cactus, Vellum and Watercolors by Jean Okimoto

Remember vellum?  It's great stamped and layered for light, airy butterflies from the Flowering Cactus Clear Stamp and Die Set.  Pair it with the bold cactus and a quick greeting - these design elements are all included in the versatile set.  The vellum cactus highlights some of the background color variations.

Hi...Jean Okimoto here with a quick-stamped and diecut card for a busy weekend.  Stamp the cactus and butterflies on colored vellum with Onyx Black VersaFine Clair.  Emboss them with detail clear powder - take a few extra steps to protect the vellum.  Begin by briefly pre-heating the back of the image - hold the heat-tool about 4" away.  Finish the embossing from the front, with the heat tool about 4" away again.  Pre-heating from the backside helps prevent overheating and scorching the image.  It also seems to offset the curling caused by the heat.

Cover the entire reverse side of stamped cactus with lined doublestick tape and diecut it.  Attach ¼" strips of lined doublestick tape just behind the center of the wide butterflies and cut it.  Attach a ¼" strip behind the left edge of the narrow butterfly and cut it.  The ¼" strips will adhere just portions of the butterflies.

Cut a strip of inked or watercolored paper  with the approximately  1-½" x 6-½" Wrapped Stitch Slim Rectangle die.

Attach the diecuts to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").

Stamp the greeting on the light teal 6x6 from the Fresh Aqua Collection with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair.  Attach it with foamdots.

Color Clear Jewels with a turquoise Sharpie of Copic Marker and add them to the card.
