Surprise someone you haven't seen recently with a Floral Chain friendship card. The Jumbled Line Collage creates a crisp Spring Plaid Slim background for the soft lavender blossoms. Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a simple slimline that's easy to create in a variety of colors and plaids from our latest collections.
Cut white cardstock with the largest Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle die.
Here's a tip that's mildly obsessive - but it's an easy way to cut straight borders and avoid wonky collage cutouts. Use a scoreboard's straight edges to align cardstock and dies that require even spacing and straight lines. Add a straight-edged acrylic or wood block as a spacer and place the die up against the spacer - then tape the die to the cardstock.
(My scoreboard has barely-visible gray-on-gray measurements lightly debossed along the left and top edges. I've attached 12" of ruler-print washi tape for a measuring guide when I'm scoring cardstock.)
Prep the Jumbled Line Collage by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the little strips. Cut the rectangle with the collage die. Attach a strip of the Spring Plaid Slim print behind the collage. The delicate gold lines add a nice bright accent. Attach the collage and plaid print to a white slimline card (3-⅝" x 8-⅝").
Cut Floral Chain from a pale lavender 6x6 from the Vibrant Violet Pack. Punch or cut a ⅜" circle stencil from scrap paper. Daub Pearlescent Purple Brilliance ink through the stencil. Heat-set the ink.
Stamp the greeting - from the Signature Greetings Clear Stamp and Die Set - on white cardstock with Purple Delight VersaFine Clair. Heat-set the ink. Diecut the greeting. Diecut a scrap of slightly darker lavender from the Vibrant Violet set. Attach it - offset as a shadow - behind the stamped greeting.
Attach the Floral Chain with foamtape. Attach the greeting.
Color 5 Clear Jewels with a violet marker, dry the ink, then attach them to the card.
Hope these ideas and techniques inspire you to create and send a caring card to someone this weekend.
See you again on Thursday...

Another beauty! The flower chain over the jumbled line die is such a terrific idea! Wonderful color scheme, as always, and the message is so appropriate for our times. All of us should be sending "miss you" cards!
