Double Stitch Rectangle Floral Treat Wrappers by Jean Okimoto

Thoughtful departure treats add a special touch to any event - especially after social-distancing and hunkering-down for more than a year.  Create these with the Double Stitch Rectangle Cut Out dies and layered blossoms from the Spring Collection.

Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an alternative way to use this versatile die set.  A Double Stitch Rectangle Cut Out die cuts the basic folded shape - and pressure-embossing with the 2 smaller dies adds the details and scorelines for the bottom.  Cut 8-½" x 3" strips of white cardstock.  Score and fold them at 4-¼".  Place the 4.3" x 3.1" die (3rd largest) so the bottom inner cutting edge is about 1/16" below the folded edge.  Cut the folded cardstock.

Pressure-emboss the folded cardstock with the 2.6" x 3.8" and 2.1" x 3.3" (the next two smaller sizes) dies - tape the larger die along the fold and tape the smaller die inside and adjacent to the larger die.

Unfold the cardstock and reverse the original fold - changing it from a valley-fold to a mountain-fold.  Fold the left and right sides of the cardstock on the innermost scored lines to form a peak.  Fold both sides up against the peak.  Spritz the front side with Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Air-dry it for a few minutes, then heat-set it.

Diecut Layered Fresh Flowers and Layered Daisies from two shades of the Berry Red 6x6 Collection.  Cut the Dreamy Freesia, then cut the small 2-petal section again for paper-piecing.  Cut the flowers again from a light blue Stormy Blue 6x6 and a medium blue Ocean Blue 6x6.  Punch holes for the cord.

Mix, match and layer the flower diecuts.  Attach them to the treat wrappers.

Add ¼" dots punched from the red and gold Holiday Glitter Pad 6x6 sheets.  Use doublestick tape to attach packaged treats inside the wrappers.  Ghiradelli chocolate squares are used here.  Tie the wrapper with gold cord and use the edge of a bone folder or the flower burnishing tool to curl the cord.  For best results follow the curve of the cord and pull the curling tool quickly and firmly along the cord.

It's a lot easier than it sounds!  Vary the size of the treat packet by using different die sizes - there are 7 dies in the set.

Thanks for visiting...have a safe and Happy 4th if you're celebrating this weekend!
