Backlit Under the Sea Birthday Card by Sara Cook

Hello. I have a card using the Pinpoint Burst Plate die cut over a acetate card so it shows the light through the back to create rays of light showing in the water scene. Such a easy way to create this effect.

Background:

Die cut the Pinpoint Burst Plate from 110 card stock. Ink blend from the center of the Burts with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade and then Salty Ocean. Randomly add Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough with Salty Ocean and lightly blend together. Then add Chipped Sapphire to the bottom and half way up the side of the panel. Spray with water and let sit then damped off with a towel. In the center add white Pan-pastel to mute out the yellow a little. Try to keep the backside of the card clean as it will show.

Plants:

For the coral ink bland Distress Oxide Abandon Coral than Squeezed Lemonade on white card stock. Die cut the coral from the Coral and Kelp Ribbon and Bubble Coral Collage. For the kelp ink bland Distress Oxide Forest Moss √. Die cut the kelp from the Coral and Kelp Ribbon and Kelp Collage. For other plants ink bland Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio than Evergreen Bough on white card stock. Die cut the plants from from the Deepwater Collage. Glue them in plant round the bottom and halfway up the side with the plants pointing towards the center point.

Mermaid:

Die cut the mermaid from Mermaid Wonder Frame from dark brown card stock and then just the tail from a aqua paper from Polished Foil pack. Fussy cut the tail and glue over the body. Color the hair with a red alcohol marker and color the cuts in the hair with a black alcohol marker. Glue a shell sequin for the top to the mermaid. Glue the mermaid to the center of the card.

Sentiment

Ink bland Distress Oxide Forest Moss on white card stock and die cut the base die from the Birthday Mail Posh Script die. Die cut the top die out of the same aqua Polished Foil paper. Glue the top die cut on the bottom die cut. Add mounting tape to the back of the sentiment die cut.

Assembly:

Create an A2 size card out of heavy acetate. Add a thin line of glue on the around the edge on the backside of the card base and adhere to the front of the acetate card. Hold firm in place until dry. For the inside die cut the larger die from Stitched Rectangle Trimmings set from white card stock. Add glue and adhere on the inside of the card to cover up the glue from the front panel. To create to write a personal message, cut 2 small pieces of white, light weight ,card stock. Adhere 1 to the inside of the card and the other to the back side to cover the adhesive that shows. Adhere the sentiment to the front panel, center top.
