Celebrate a special birthday with the bold, industrial look of the new Toolshed 3D Embossing Folder. The silver Polished Foil Pad captures the dimensional details of the folder - trimmed to a narrow strip - and sanded to highlight the tools. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an easy way to add extra contrast to an embossed design.
Attach a strip of adhesive label paper (or a sticker sheet) to the silver Polished Foil Pad sheet for extra thickness. Place the strip near the right edge of the Toolshed 3D Embossing Folder and emboss it using the plate(s) and embossing mat required for your machine. Trim it to 2 x 5-¾".
Place the embossed strip on a hard, smooth surface and carefully sand just the embossed tools with a sanding block. Use long, level vertical strokes first, then short, level horizontal strokes. Sanding the raised areas creates a contrast between the shiny background and matte, sanded areas.
Cut the dark orange and teal 6x6 sheets from the Sunny Orange and Fresh Aqua Collections with the 3rd smallest Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.
Stamp the greetings - from the Big and Little Reverse Words Clear Stamp and Die Set - on the light orange Sunny Orange Collection sheet with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair. Heat-set the ink. Trim the greetings with the die from the stamp set - shorten the "happy" strip by diecutting the extra space at the ends.
Attach everything to a slimline card (3-½ x 8-½") of the new White Woodgrain cardstock to coordinate with the card's toolbox theme - use foamtape for the greeing.
Add the orange Fairy Jewels from the Bright Jewels set.
Hope you'll try the sanding technique with other Polished Foil Pad colors and Memory Box 3D Embossing Folders - the Waves and Underwater embossing folder designs would be great on the blue foils.
Thanks for visiting...see you again this weekend!
