Put It In Gear Birthday Slimline by Jean Okimoto

Switch gears from flowers and prettiness to a slimline design for your special guy's birthday.  Slimlines provide plenty of space for bold designs, strong colors and a bit of sparkle.  Hi, happy weekend, Jean Okimoto here with a birthday design featuring the new Put It In Gear 3D Embossing Folder.

Trim the brown 6x6 from the Earth Neutral Collection to about 4-½ x 6".  Spritz both sides lightly with water, then emboss it with the Put It In Gear folder.  Cut it using part of the 3-⅛ x 8-⅛" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers Die.  Trim it to 5-½" wide.

Cut the dark orange 6x6x from the Sunny Orange Collection with the 6-¾ x 1-¾" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die.  Trim the cardstock to 3-¾" wide.  Spritz it with a generous amount of Imagine's Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Let it airdry for a few minutes, then heat-set.  Add rich highlights to any of the 6x6 Collection sheets with Imagine's spritzes for customized metallic cardstock to match your designs.

Cut Birthday Mail Posh Script from the green 6x6 Lush Green Collection sheet and the dark brown Earth Neutral sheet.  It's a perfectly-sized mix of two great fonts that are easy to diecut and attach.  An added bonus - the tiny dot over the "i" is diecut from the background instead of the delicate script.  Just glue a scrap of brown cardstock behind the dot instead of saving and attaching that tiny dot.

Cut three of Tall Birthday Candles overlay from the dark teal 6x6 in the Fresh Aqua Collection.  Cut three solid backgrounds from the light orange Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad.  Assemble the candles starting at the flame and working towards the bottom.  Attach the candle flame with foamtape.

Attach everything to a white slimline card (3-½ x 8-½").  Slim Basic Rectangle Layers create perfectly proportioned layering pieces for slimline cards.  The die set also eliminates measuring and cutting (and re-cutting!) layers that might otherwise be noticeably wonky on such slim  cards.

Add turquoise jewels from the Bright Jewels set.

Thanks for visiting...have a great weekend!

clever and a great masculine card
