Greetings. I have a beautiful coral reef scene card using the new release dies from Under the Sea. The dies and glitter paper makes it easy to recreate a coral reef scene. There are a lot of steps but they go fast. Check out the video tutorial, link below.
Layers:
Select 3 colors from the Fresh Aqua paper pack. Trim down to A2, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Die cut the Kelp Collage die from the lightest color paper and then Bubble Coral Collage die from the medium color and the Deepwater Collage die from the darkest color. Center the dies with the first die cut to align the scene. Trim off all the kelp, coral and seaweed pcs from the die cuts.
Coral:
Die cut coral dies from Coral and Kelp Ribbon and Bubble Coral Collage out of pinke paper from the Delicate Pastel Glitter pad and orange from the Frosted Glitter pad. I die cut all dies from each paper. Then choose 2 of the die cuts one from pink and one from orange paper and color with R32 Copic marker to create 2 coral colored glitter.
Kelp:
Die cut the kelp dies from the Coral and Kelp Ribbon and Kelp Collage out of aqua Polished Foil Pad pack twice.
Start gluing the coral and kelp die cuts on the collage die cuts. Change up colors and styles as you go. Always stock the collage die cuts together to make sure the coral and kelp is where you want it. Keep a spot open in the upper portion of the scene for the turtle. Add double sided foam tape to the back of the collage die cuts.
Turtle:
Die cut the turtle from the Sea Creatures out of 110lb white card stock. Color the turtle shell with Copic marker E23 and E27. Cover each square in the shell with E23 and then go back with E27, flicking the ink from top to bottom, not covering up the full area. Go back over the area with E23. Cover the area around the squares with YG03 and then YG63. Go around the outside of the shell with YG63. Brush Ranger Collage Medium Matte on the shell and let dry. Color the turtle with YG03 and then add YG63 on the under side of the body and color in the fee. Color the edge of the feet and eye with E37 and go over with YG63.
Fish:
Cut glossy, white, paper into 6, 2 inch squares. Appy Distress Oxide ink onto each square, Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feather, Cracked Pistachio and Ketch Flamingo. To secure the ink on the glossy paper, blend Distress Glaze on top of each paper and then wipe excess with a cloth. Die cut each color paper from the smaller School of Fish die.
Start to adhere in the fish in and around the coral and kelp collage die cuts, arranging the fish until you like it. Cut a thin piece of acetate to 1/2" x 5 1/2 ". Adhere the acetate strop on the backside of the Kelp Collage die cut centering it. Adhere the turtle to the top portion of the acetate strip, looking like the turtle is swimming up towards the surface. Remove the backing from the foam tape and adhere the largest to smallest collage die cuts on top of each other. Adhere the 3 layered collage dies to a A2 card base. The card base should be a dark color then the 3 layers.
