The 108 shades of our 9 new color collections are perfect for ombre designs. Five shades from the Vibrant Violet Collection are used here with the new Crystal Border and Wildflower Stems set. Coordinated colors eliminate the guesswork and searching for the right shades. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an example of how easy it is to create an ombre-ed background or border with our new 6x6 color sets.
Cut white cardstock with the 7-¼" x 2-¼" Slim Basic Rectangle Layers die. Prep the Crystal Border by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help release the little pieces. Cut the rectangle with the Crystal Border - we're using just the white offcut here.
Cut the silver sheet from the Polished Foil Pad with the Crystal Border.
Cut 1-⅛" x 6" strips of 5 colors from the Vibrant Violet Collection. Tape them together to create a 5-⅝" strip. Cut a 1-½" wide strip of the taped colors. Attach it behind the white offcut. A few of the sections have two colors. You could re-cut those pieces with one color...but why?
Insert and attach the silver foil Crystal Border - I used a skewer to place tiny dots of Tacky Glue at the corners, intersections and at several spots along the long straight edge.
Cut a ¾" x 6" long strip matching the 4th color from the top of the ombre strip. Attach the rectangle and strip to a white slimline card (3-½" x 8-½").
Cut the top of the large Wildflower Stems blossom from the pale pink/lavender Graceful Garden Glitter Pad sheet. Cut 3 of the smaller blossom - remove the 4th (right) section from one of them to create a smaller bud. Cut the stem from the green sheet in the Lush Green Collection.
Attach the stem to the rectangle then layer the glittered blossom sections over the top of the stems. Add ¼" dots punched from the green sheet in the Graceful Garden Glitter Pad.
Hope you like this 'inkless ombre' idea! Thanks for visiting...see you again this weekend...
Wow! This is gorgeous! Love that sparkly flower!
