All the Happiness Slimline Florals with Plaids Card
by Anne Thompson

I have been playing with the largest floral stamp and its coordinating die from the ALL THE HAPPINESS clear stamp set CL5265-D, stamping it on a variety of papers, coloring it (or not) in many different ways, and placing those images against various layered plaid backgrounds.  The card I'm showing you today is all about the purples!

Here are the materials I used.

Here is a closer look at the covers of the three paper pads I used.

  • To make this card I started with a sheet of white cardstock cut 8 1/2 X 7 and scored at 3 1/2.
  • I added a piece of paper from the Spring Plaid Slim pad trimmed to 8 1/4 X 6 3/4 to the front of the card base.
  • Next I cut the Slim Diagonal Collage from another plaid paper.
  • I used one of the smaller Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangles on a piece of solid purple cardstock from the Twilight Purple pad, placing the die on a diagonal to get the full length.
  • I wove that purple piece through the slits in the Slim Diagonal Collage, and then chose a larger Wrapped Stitched Slim Rectangle cut from another of the Spring Plaid Slim papers and attached the pieces together.
  • At this point I tried that assembly on top of the card and decided I needed a darker layer behind it so I added a plaid from the Madras Violet papers.

I stamped the large floral image on one of the Madras Violet papers using the black ink, cut it out with the coordinating die, and added tiny white pearls in all of the berry circles. I attached this with Scor-Tape to the card front.

I love all of those pretty purples!  There is so much texture and interest with the various background layers.  Some inspiration for this month's blog challenge--Beautiful Backgrounds.

Happy Crafting!
