Celebrate the end of the year - and the promise of a better year ahead - with hearts, glitter and happy colors  Hello, Jean Okimoto here with the last project of 2020 as we look forward to new designs, ideas and inspiration in 2021.

Cut light gray cardstock with the 4-¼" Circle Basics Die.  Prep the Stitched Circle die by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help remove the tiny dots.  Cut the circle with Stitched Circle.

Stitch narrow points with pink floss.

Cut light gray cardstock with Pinpoint Burst Plate - then trim it to a 4-¼" square.

Cut the pink glittered cardstock from the Delicate Pastels Glitter Pad with the two smallest Scallop Pinpoint Loving Heart Cut Outs.

Attach the diecuts to a side-folded 5-⅝" square card - attach the smaller heart, slightly offset, with foamtape.  Add ¼" punched dots of the pink glittered cardstock.

Square cards require extra postage - but this card can deliver a message of love and hope to the special people in your life.

Thank you very much for all of your thoughtful comments here  -  and on Instagram, Pinterest and the Impress Insiders page.  I'm motivated by the hope that my projects, classes and class kits will inspire you to discover new (and unexpected!) ways to use our products and share your creativity with others.

Wishing you a Happy New Year...more than ever!

Let it Snow
by Michelle Bala

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a winter scene. I used a few dies to create this scene: Wooded Glen Collage Die, Snowglobe Backer Die, Wrapped Stitch Rectangles Die, and Spirit of Christmas Stamp Set.

4

These are the steps I followed:

Trim card base to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and ink up the base with broken china, salty ocean and blue print sketch distress oxide inks.

Next, secure the stitch rectangle die to a piece of white cardstock.  Place the wooded glen collage die in the center of the stitch rectangle die and secure. Run through your die cutting machine. Die cut the tree tops seperately. Die cut the deer.

I used Copic Markers to color the trees and deer. I used shades E41, E42, E43, E44, E49; G40, G43, G46, G99.

I adhered the tree tops to the tree trunks.  Stamp the sentiment with black ink. Than adhere the die cut stitch rectangle panel to the card base with foam tape.

I splattered some white paint over the card base. Allow to dry than adhere the deer. For a finishing touch I scattered some sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

Peace and Joy
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_3011

Greetings friends. Today I was going to make another quick and easy thank you card for after Christmas thank you notes. However, 2020 has been such a harsh year for all of us, and I was really inspired by the "peace and joy" sentiment. It truly is what I wish for all of us in the new year....perhaps add in a little health as well.

To make the card, it was as simple as die cutting two layers of trees to make my forest. I chose silver glitter for the inside/smaller layer and plain white for the outer. Just as I said- very quick and easy! You could definitely crank out a lot in a short amount of time.

Here is a close up of the sparkle:

I wish you all the very best for the new year!

Shiny Foil Pinpoint Burst and Bubble Circles to Celebrate the New Year
by Anne Thompson

I spent some time going through my Memory Box supplies to find dies I could use to create some cards for the New Year, something that looked celebratory.  I decided to use the PINPOINT BURST PLATE 94514 cut from foil paper as the background for some BUBBLE CIRCLES 94439.

Card One

IMG_2963-ink

I used silvery foil from the POLISHED FOIL PACK FP1001 and used the full size of the Pinpoint Burst Plate to cover the front of a white A2 notecard.  I added Bubble Circles cut from a green plaid from the CHRISTMAS PLAID  6X6 pad PP1009.  I'm still looking for my CELEBRATE CURSIVE SCRIPT die 94393 which I know is here somewhere and will be the perfect sentiment to add to the front of this card.

Card Two

IMG_2965-ink

For this one I trimmed a little bit off each edge of the blue foil Pinpoint Burst design to expose a border of the white notecard.  I added silver foil Bubble Circles.  I also put a single silver foil candle in the center of the Burst using the TALL BIRTHDAY CANDLES 94395 die.

I made two more similar cards and found a discontinued clear stamp set from Poppystamps that I cut apart to make the two sentiments.

Happy New Year!  I'm sure we are all looking forward to whatever 2021 has in store for us!

Happy Crafting!

Embossed Thank You Card
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_3008

Greetings friends. I don't know about you, but I am in the process of making and sending thank you cards. If 2020 taught me anything, it is to be grateful for the wonderful people around me and to tell them how thankful I am for all they do for me.

For today's card, I used one of the Memory Box 3-D embossing folders. Sometimes I use the embossed paper "as is" and don't color it, but today I felt like a splash of color.

To make the design, I ran my folder through my die cut machine to emboss the paper. Remember to spritz the cardstock lightly with water before embossing it to help the details of the folder really become noticeable.

Once I ran my paper through the machine, I turned the paper over so that I was using the flat "de-bossed" side of the paper ranter than the bumpy side of the paper.

First, I sponged on some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink:

Next, I added some Stormy Sky Distress Ink to the top and sides of the card:

Finally, a little Bundled Sage to color the trees:

To finish the card, I added my sentiment to the center. I am also thinking about using this design for winter birthdays.

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!

  5. Trim a piece of pattern paper, same size as base.
  6. Secure the star die to the center of the pattern paper with washi tape. I used the largest star die from the Shining Star Set.
  7. Run the die through a die cutting machine.
  8. Adhere the die cut panel over the embossed foil base.
  9. Splatter with white paint.
  10. Stamp the sentiment onto solid cardstock and trim to desired length. I used the stamp set Harvest Love and Kindness.

Quiet Winter Wishes by Jean Okimoto

It's a very different Christmas this year - winter pastels and muted textures somehow seem so right for 2020.  Hi everyone - Jean Okimoto here with my last Christmas design of the season.  We're looking forward to sharing our Valentine 2021 designs with you soon! MemoryBoxCircleBasics, MemoryBoxStitchedBurst, StitchedCards, JeanOkimoto, HolidayDiecuts

Cut light gray cardstock with the 3" Circle Basics die.  Prep the Stitched Burst die by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help remove the tiny dots.  Cut the circle with Stitched Burst.  Use Scotch Transparent Tape to attach pink floss to the backside of the diecut.  Begin at an outer point, skip over 4 points and stitch through the 5th point.  Repeat around the circle.

MemoryBoxCircleBasics, MemoryBoxStitchedBurst, StitchedCards, MemoryBoxCo, JeanOkimoto, HandmadeHolidayCardsSew a stitch from the second hole to the bottom of each row of dots.  Tape the floss to the backside and trim off the excess.

Use pink sparkly yarn for the final stitching - from one outer point to the outer point on the opposite side.

Cut Knotted Diamond Background from light gray cardstock - leave everything in the die.  Attach strips of tape across the back of the diecut to keep the pieces intact.

Cut light gray cardstock with Pinpoint Snowflake Plate.  Trim it to 2-½" wide. Attach the background panels and Stitched Burst to a pink A-6 card - use foam tape to attach the Stitched Burst.

Prep pink cardstock with the embossing powder tool to eliminate stray specks of embossing powder.  Stamp the greeting - from the Spirit of Christmas Clear Stamp and Die set  -  with VersaMark.  Heat-emboss it with detail silver powder.  Trim it and attach it with foamdots.

Punch ¼" dots of the silver sheet in the Holiday Glitter Pad.

This design works for birthdays and other celebrations too - hope you'll try this stitched pattern.  Stitching can be very relaxing, productive and therapeutic...really!

Thanks for visiting - have a safe, healthy and happy holiday!

Christmas Pattern Random Embossing
by Michelle Bala

15

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a couple of embossed cards. I used the stamp set, Spirit of Christmas. For the red card I used the holly branch stamp. For the teal card I used the poinsettia stamp. I stamped the panels randomly and embossed the red card with white embossing powder, and the teal card with gold embossing powder.

16

I followed the same process on both cards.

After I embossed the patterns I die cut the panels with Wrapped Stitch Rectangles Die, the second largest die. From the same cardstock I also die cut a base panel with the largest die. I adhered the large die cut panel to the card base than adhered the embossed die cut panel with foam tape.

19

I die cut two sentiments, Peace Airy Script, and Merry Airy Script. I used the Holiday Glitter Pad. For a finishing touch I scattered some gems on both cards.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Merry Christmas with Collage Dies
by Angie Cimbalo

Main

Hello and welcome, it'a Angie here today with a "Merry Christmas" card using all dies from Memory Box.

For my card I stacked the "Special Christmas" sentiment die atop three layers of collage dies: "Evergreen Sky Collage", "Small Pine Tree Collage", and the "Tall Fir Collage".

L close shine

With blender brushes,  I inked the two green layers before die cutting them.  The ink colors I used were "Lucky Clover" and  "Pine Needles" Distress Inks.   The opening of the layered collage dies was backed with "Delicate Pastel Glitter" paper for a sparkly background to feature the trees and sky.  The top layer collage die was cut with the same glitter paper

The sentiment was cut from red and white and stacked slightly off-center to create dimension.  I trimmed down the collage panels and added them to a red background panel, then added white gel pen to the green trees for the look of snow.
Here's another look:

I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas card using dies and partially blended Distress Oxide inks.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Winter Scene Gift Tags
by Sara Cook

3 tags

Good morning everyone. I'm so excite to be a designer for Memory Box.  This is my first post and hope you try this simply and fast tag project.  This sure will make your presents standout.

Background wip

To make the sky background cut out 3 1/8" square from white card stock.  I used 80lb to keep the tag light weight.

Blend on the blue ink about 3/4 of the way down the square.  I like using Silicone Blue Fresh Ink as my snow cloud sky.  It has the perfect blend of blue and light grey to give the feel of snow in the air.

After ink is dry press a clear embossing ink pad on the upper portion of the sky. Lightly sprinkle on ultra thick white embossing powder for snowflakes and heat set.  The heat gun can blow away some of the powder so, keep the heat gun at a distance until the powder starts to melt.

Scene WIP

Use just the inside frame and cabin die of the Family Cabin Frame die and cut out of white 80lb card stock.  Keep the pieces for the side of the cabin and door.   Die cut the framed scene again but out of a red card stock. Fussy cut out the smoke and snowbank leaving the frame.

Mask off the chimney on the cabin. Use a blending tool to add a light grey color to the smoke. Make the pressure random as color is added so it give it depth. For the grey I used Morning Mist Versa Fine Clair ink.

Take the cabin walls and blend on a brown ink. I used Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Do the same thing for the door but with red ink.  I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to match my red frame. I took a scrap piece of paper and lightly colored it with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. Then lightly pencil marked the outline of the house on the yellow colored paper.  Fussy cut the paper out and glued it behind the house.  Glue in the cabin walls and door pieces.

In the lower left corner of the snowbank write To: and From: with a red pen to match the door and frame.  I used NO. 6 Brown Marvy pen with the fine point.

Now for final assembly.  Glue the framed scene on the sky background paper and then glue the red frame over the white frame.  Add a piece of double sided tape to the back leaving the backing on the tape to peel off when ready to add to a gift.

Change up the color scheme to match your wrapping paper.  I used red that matched my wrapping paper.
