3-D Embossed Chrysanthemum Field Slimline Card by Jean Okimoto

P1170146

Creating a colorful card is easy with our 3-D Embossing Folders - here's the Chrysanthemum Field on a simple fall card.  Hi, Jean Okimoto here with an easy way to add color and texture to any project.  It's also a nice way to use that stash of watercolored paper - like I did for today's card. Brighter colors are great for this process.

Trim watercolored cardstock (or watercolor paper) to fit into the Chrysanthemum Field folder.  Spray it with a light mist of water to soften the paper a bit, then pressure-emboss it using the plates recommended by the manufacturer.  Trim it with the 3-¾" x 2-½" Rectangle Basics die.

Place it on a smooth, hard surface and scruff it with sandpaper or a sanding block to remove the color of the raised patterns.  Use short, upward strokes.  Remove the residue with a tissue.

Cut the delicate white frame with the medium-sized Stylish Rectangle Trio die.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Berry Wreath Clear Stamps and Dies Set - with coral ink.  I used Impress' Melon Fresh Ink.

Cut a ¾" strip of the pink glitter paper from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pack.

Attach everything to a white slimline card - I trimmed mine to 3-⅝" x 8-¾".

Cut gold metallic accent dots from the new 6x6 Polished Foil Pad.  The Poppystamps Big Dot Border die is perfect for this!

Add color to your projects with simple techniques like these.  Use your stash of watercolored papers - or create a bunch of them while hunkering-down at home.  Pressure-emboss them with a 3-D folder and make the design the central point of your card.

Thanks for visiting!
