The new Small Pine Tree Collage, Tall Fir Collage and Evergreen Sky Collage are designed for dimensional layering like Trina's card - and they're great individually for window cards too. Here's a holiday idea featuring the Tall Fir Collage and the sweet little deer from the new Snowglobe Backer dies set. Hi, Jean Okimoto here with a mix of dies, papers and techniques.
Score, cut and fold a white A6 card (4-½" x 6-¼"). Prep the Tall Fir Collage by rubbing it briskly with scrunched wax paper to help release the delicate trees.
Here's an easy way to align an oval die when cutting the card itself. The pair of "push-out" holes on the die are aligned vertically - so attach the die with both holes 2-⅞" from the right edge of the card front. Cut the collage and remove the offcuts by gently wiggling the pieces and pulling the offcuts away from the collage instead of tugging on the delicate trees
Cut the Garland green and red 6x6 print with the small inner oval from the Poppystamps Oval Fold Frame set. Attach it so it shows through the collage. It's slightly smaller than the collage for an extra layer of dimension.
Prep the Special Merry Christmas die with waxed paper and cut the greeting from the green glittered sheet in the Holiday Glitter Pad.
Cut one antler set and two Snowglobe Backer deer from Kraft cardstock. Color the antlers with a marker. Define one eye with a paper piercing tool. Attach a scrap of black cardstock behind the eye. Attach the two deer diecuts - with the antlers between the layers. Cut a scarf from the red glittered sheet in the Holiday Glitter Pad. Highlight the nose and hoofs/hooves with a black pen. Add tiny dots of white gel pen to the tail and side.
Thanks for visiting...have fun creating holiday cards!
