Last week I gave you three polar bears sledding in the snow. This week it's penguins from the other pole!
materials used
- white notecard
- blue glitter paper from FROSTED GLITTER PAD GP1004
- white glitter paper from HOLIDAY GLITTER PAD GP1005
- red striped paper from GARLAND STRIPES AND DOTS PP1011
- black cardstock scrap for the sentiment
- WATERCOLOR PAPER WP101
- orange and black Tombow markers
- very thin twine
- penguin from SNOWGLOBE BACKER 94491
- STITCHED BURST 94406
- VINTAGE SLED 94495
- SPECIAL MERRY CHRISTMAS 94499
how I made this card
- First I cut the blue glitter paper to 4 X 5 1/4 and die cut the Stitched Burst into it before adhering this to the front of a side-folded white notecard. This for me represented the South Pole.
- I chose one of the white glitter papers for snow, trimmed it to 4" and fussy cut the top to look hilly and attached it to the bottom of the blue glitter panel under the burst.
- I assembled the sled from the red striped paper, gluing the narrow strips onto the sled slats, and I tied on a piece of thin twine as a tow rope.
- I cut three penguins from the Watercolor Paper and colored them with the orange and black Tombow pens. I popped the body pieces back into the die and put Scor-Tape on their backs to hold them together and then used glue to attach their feet. I placed two penguins on the sled with foam dots behind their heads. The third one standing on the hill holds the tow rope attached with a glue dot and he has two layers of foam tape behind his body.
- Lastly I added the Special Merry Christmas cut from black cardstock and adhered it with glue.
I love the Vintage Sled and have made several from the striped papers to use on future cards. I keep them tucked in the envelope with the dies so I will know where to find them when I need them.
Happy Crafting!
Love those penguins!
