Greetings friends. Today I want to share a stencil technique that I would like to share with you. It is a way to use a stencil to create a partial background that acts as a spotlight for your focal image. It involves using a stencil, some Versamark and some PanPastel chalks.
First, I started with white cardstock and sponged some dark and light green chalk (Chrom Oxide Green, Hansa Yellow Shade)
in the center:
Next, I placed a stencil over the chalk and sponged some Versamark ink on top using a cosmetic sponge. I covered the entire chalk area as well as some of the area around the chalked circle.
You can see some of the Versamark on the chalk once you removed the stencil:
Next, I sponged over the versamark using the same two colors of PanPastel chalk. You don't have to worry about being gentle when you do this step. You won't smudge the ink.
One of the reasons I use PanPastels is because if I make a mistake, you can use an eraser to clean up the smudged areas.
To finish the card, I added a peony that I had colored with Copic markers and added a little bit of glitter glue to the center of the flower for extra sparkle:
Copic markers used- Y13, Y17, YR04, YG13, G09
Thanks for stopping by!
