Adding Dimension to your Embossing Folders
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends. Today I want to share a card made with the other new embossing folder.  This time I ran the folder through the machine twice so that I had a base of the entire poinsettia and then a second piece that allowed me to cut out the flower petal section by hand.  I wanted to add this step so that the poinsettia could have some extra dimension.  I also really like the look of the petals hanging over the edges of the frame.  If you were making lots of holiday cards, you might want to cut out this part to make the card making process much faster.

I placed my poinsettia piece over some of the new Memory Box patterned paper.  One of the 6" x 6" packs is filled with holiday plaids and the other has holiday florals.  The best part is the two sets of patterns coordinate with each other, so it is easy to play with matching patterns that you might not normally pair with each other.  I really liked how the flowers looked with the plaid.

Once again, I added my sentiment with some of the new foil paper.

Do you have any questions about using the 3-D embossing folders?  I would be happy to help...just leave a comment in the post.

Very nice card, but oh, my...5 layers on the base card?? Way too many for me, even though it looks great! Love the new embossing folders...

Beautiful card! Love all the layers and that flower has so much fantastic dimension!

Love the look of the 3 d folders and great idea of adding even more dimension!
