Sunflower Best Wishes
by Anne Thompson

I chose to work with sunflowers this week.  This card features the MAGNIFICENT SUNFLOWER 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER EF1008 from the Spring Collection.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this embossing folder!

I embossed the image on a piece of 6X6 paper from the SPRINGTIME BOUQUET paper pad PP1006.  I used a sanding block over the image to highlight it even more by exposing some of the white underneath.  I trimmed it to 5 1/4 X 4, mounted it on a piece of white cardstock just a tiny bit larger, and then placed that panel on a Meadow notecard.

I added BEST WISHES BANNER SCRIPT 94394 cut from a piece of Meadow notecard.

On the inside I used a striped paper also from the Springtime Bouquet paper pad.  I stamped the single sunflower and two leaves from the SUNFLOWER WREATH clear stamp and die set CL5253-D on more of the Meadow notecard scraps using VersaFine Clair Rain Forest green ink.  I die cut the sunflower using the coordinating die but fussy cut the leaves.  Using the same ink I stamped the sentiment "you are the sunshine in my life" from the same stamp/die set directly onto the striped paper before adding the flower/leaves cluster.

I made another card using the same sentiments on the front and on the inside, this time using the FLORAL CORNER 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER EF1007 for the cover design.  Again I distressed the image using a sanding block before layering it on white cardstock and then the Meadow notecard.  The papers I used for this card are from the GARDEN FOLLY 6X6 paper pad PP1005.

As I was making each card I was thinking birthday, but these cards could also work for other occasions as well.

Happy Crafting!

Anne, I'm partial to sunflowers and that embossing folder and what you did with it are super!

It's so traditional to think of sunflowers only in terms of yellow, they are fetching in this palette. The sanding is fab to add dimension to these.
