Celebrate a special birthday with Tall Birthday Candles and Poppystamps' Flora Blooms Solid Set. Balance the bold diecuts with the delicate Celebrate Cursive Script and a pretty floral print from the Garden Folly 6x6 prints.

Hello, Jean Okimoto here sharing a design idea for the June Birthdays Challenge. Everyone deserves a special birthday card and now - more than ever - your handcrafted card will brighten their day.

The 5-piece Poppystamps Flora Bloom Solids Set nests together and cuts bold blossoms for spring and summer greetings. It's a great set for stenciling, pressure-embossing and cutting inlaid designs too. Tape the dies (excluding the largest die) together and cut Flamingo cardstock. Leave the pieces in the die and tape the nesting diecuts in two or three spots to keep them intact. Attach foam tape to four of the five outer petals.

Cut two Scribble Leafy Branch Backgrounds from green cardstock. Cut a 1-½" x 3-½" strip of the striped floral print from the new 6x6 Garden Folly Paper Pack. Cut Celebrate Cursive Script from Flamingo cardstock.

Cut three of the Tall Birthday Candles from one of the white glittered cardstock from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad. They're actually 2-¾" tall and but trimmed to various heights here. Color them with Zebra MildLiner, Copic or Sharpie Markers and set them aside to dry.

Attach everything to a 3-½" x 8-½" white slimline card - place the petal without foam tape where it'll be under the tip of the "C." Slimline cards fit into #9 and #10 business envelopes. The Garden Folly print strip extends beyond the top of the card to add a point of interest.
