Hello everyone. Have you joined in this month’s Birthday Cards challenge yet? Today I‘m sharing another birthday card created with products from the Garden Party release.
This was pretty simple. The part that took the longest was the coloring, so I started with the background first. The largest die from Rectangle Basics was used to die cut an A2 sized rectangle from Bristol paper. A DIY cover plate was then created next using the Diagonal Stripes Collage die. The two perimeter strips were die cut first...
Followed by the two middle strips and... done! Too funny... I just realized I have a discontinued stencil exactly like this. 😂
Next, light gray dye ink was blended directly onto a white card base with a blender brush. Adhered the DIY cover plate on top then splattered using Black Soot distress ink.
For some reason, no-line colouring intimidates me. So naturally, that was what I chose to do. 😂 I keep trying. Anyway, the images from Peony Garden Corner stamp set were stamped with Fadeout no line coloring detail ink by Ink on 3 on alcohol-friendly cardstock. They were no-line colored with Copic markers and final shading details were done with Polychromos pencils.
The images were die cut out with the coordinating dies. My alignment was a bit off and I also wanted a thinner white border, so I fussy cut to clean up the edges. The Celebrate Cursive Script sentiment was die cut twice from Bristol paper and once from black mirror cardstock and stacked for dimension. Clear shimmer added to the flowers for some sparkle completed the card.
And that is all. Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your day.

WOW! First, I love how you've created that fabulous striped background. Beautiful with the soft shade of gray and black splatters. But your no line watercolouring of the gorgeous blue and leaves really steal the show, Trina! You have done EXCELLENT work with this technique! The black mirror paper die-cut sentiment is just the perfect contrast. AMAZING design!
