Garden Party Birthday
by Trina Pham

Hello there.  Today is not just the last day in May, it‘s also my birthday.  And with that, I have an easy monochromatic birthday card to share using products from the newest Garden Party release.

The Birthday Cursive Script Circle was die cut three times from scraps of Bristol paper and stacked for dimension.  Used scissors to snip away the circle.  The solid candles from Tall Birthday Candles were then die cut from regular white cardstock and various aqua/teal pattern papers in the Garden Folly paper pack.  Trimmed off the flame on the pattern paper candles and pieced on top of the white candles.

Next, ombre blended Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans distress inks with blender brushes onto a Bristol rectangle panel.  Splattered with water and lifted with a paper towel to give it texture.  Dried the panel completely with my heat tool then heat embossed “wishes” from Poppy Stamps Birthday Blowout stamp set with white embossing powder.

Mounted the panel onto a white card base with fun foam and and assembled the card.  Spritz the entire card with a sparkle spray for some shimmer to finish.   Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and week.

Happy Saturday - here's a sharing-kindness card for weekend crafting. Combine the lacy new Clementine Border and bold Poppystamps Rounded Blooms Flowers for a fresh look.  Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a delayed post caused by a (senior moment) glitch today.

I've always loved tall, skinny cards - even before "slimline" became trendy. The tall/skinny idea is just wishful thinking!  They fit #9 or #10 business envelopes -   surprise someone with a boring business envelope that contains a special card you've created for them.

Enjoy Michelle's pretty slimline card here.

Scrunch waxed paper and rub it briskly over the Clementine Border and Kindness Cursive Script dies to prep them for an easy release.  Cut 2 Clementines from white cardstock.  Cut kindness from Navaho cardstock.  (leave the little dot over the "i" in the die to attach later)

Cut Poppystamps Rounded Bloom Flowers from Patina and Coral Cream cardstock.  Cut 1" circles of the white glittered cardstock from the Delicate Pastels 6x6 glitter pack and color them with markers.  Attach them behind the flowers.

Stamp and trim the greeting - from the new Peony Garden Corner Clear Stamps and Die Set - with Melon Fresh Ink.  Heat emboss it with detail clear powder.  It's my first Fresh Ink card - I love their pretty colors!  It looks darker in the group photo above, but it's a soft summer-y coral that complements turquoise, gray, kraft, charcoal and lime.  And the container is pretty classy too!

Score and fold a 3 ½" x 8 ½" white card.  Make it easy on yourself...attach the flowers to the Clementine Border first, add adhesive behind the flowers and some of the ovals along the edges - then attach it to the card.  Attach the greetings - use foam dots for the stamped words.

Copic Peony
by Laura Fulcher

IMG_2544

Greetings friends.  Do you have a favorite flower?  For me, it is the peony.  I think they are absolutely stunning.  Therefore, I was really excited to see the new Memory Box stamp sets.  I don't know if I have ever seen a peony in the orange color I used, but I decided to color my flower to match the washi tape.

To make the card, I used both the wide and 1" version of the Cornelia Aqua washi tape. I took a piece of white cardstock and then placed a strip of the wide and a strip of the narrow onto the paper at an angle.  I then cut the piece down to layer onto a blue card.  I also cut out my "celebrate" in the same color of blue.

For my flower, I used the following Copic colors:

My favorite paper to use with Copic markers is the XPress It Blending Cardstock.  It is a bit slicker than other cardstocks, and I find it easier than others to blend the markers.  I stamped the flower and leaves with black Memento ink and die cut out all of my pieces.  I started with the lightest color of ink and then added each of the darker colors.  Here is a close up of the coloring:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Bubble Circles, Garden Folly and Flora Blooms by Jean Okimoto

P1150715

Add a happy note to cards with the new Bubble Circles - a trio of circles within circles surrounded by dots.  Add the large Flora Blooms from Poppystamps for a big pop of brightness.  Hello, Jean Okimoto here with a card designed to acknowledge special acts of kindness.

It's a very simple card - and it can be a template for similar combos of Bubble Circles, Garden Folly and the new floral dies at Poppystamps, a division of Memory Box.

P1150749

Scrunch a sheet of waxed paper and rub it briskly over the largest Bubble Circle die to prep the detailed die and help release delicate diecuts.  Cut the green and white floral print from the Garden Folly 6x6 print.  We're using both the diecut and the solid circle offcut.

Cut the large Flora Bloom from Marshmallow Chick cardstock.  Cut a  circle of green Twinkling Jewel glitter cardstock using the just the center section of the Flora Blooms die.  Cut a scrap of black cardstock to fit behind the circles in the center of the diecut.

Stamp the greeting - from the new Peony Garden Corner Clear Stamps and Dies Set - on white cardstock with Verdant VersaFine Clair.

Attach everything to a side-folded A2 card of Intense Kiwi cardstock - attach the flower with foam dots.

P1150735

Bright, upbeat greetings are sure to be appreciated - more than ever -  right now.  Mix and match the great 6x6 prints and glitter cardstock with the new dies and stamps from the Garden Party Collection.  They're perfect for thank-yous, hellos and thoughtful thinking-of-you cards.

Thanks for visiting...see you again this weekend!

Celebrate with Embossed Flowers
by Michelle Bala

22

Hello there! Michelle here. Today I wanted to make a slim line card using the newest stamp set, Peony Garden Corner clear stamp. I trimmed a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock slightly smaller than 3 1/2 x 8 1/2. I inked it up with tattered rose, worn lipstick and picked raspberry distress oxide inks.  Allow to inks to set/dry. I dusted the inked panel with some anti static powder than embossed the flowers with gold embossing powder.
22

These are the supplies I used, Peony Garden Corner Border stamp set and Celebrate Cursive Script Word Die and strawberry ice glitter glue.
22

Adhere the panel to the card base measuring 3 1/2 by 8 1/2. I added some white and gold paint splatters to the panel.  All to dry.
22

Using a piece of the same cardstock, I inked it up with worn lipstick and picked raspberry inks. Die cut the sentiment Celebrate. Die cut the word a few more from white cardstock and adhere them stacked together. Adhere the sentiment to the embossed panel and add a layer of  strawberry ice glitter glue. I embossed the sentiment onto gray cardstock than adhered that under the die cut word with foam tape. Lastly, I added some scattered sequins.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!!!

Best Wishes

IMG_0951

Hello everyone! Today I have another card using products from the new 2020 Garden Party Release.

To make this card I placed a piece of patterned paper into the new Gracious Leaves 3D embossing folder and ran it through my die cut machine.  Next I lightly sanded the embossed areas so that the design shows up.

I die cut the outside frame from the Tulip Trio die set from white cardstock and glued it to the embossed panel. I also die cut the words from white cardstock and glued them to the card front.

I stamped, watercolored and die cut the flower and leaves from the Peony Garden Stamp set and adhered them to the card.

IMG_0952

To finish the card I used foam tape to adhere the card front to a white card base.

That's it for today!  I hope you have a great week!

Garden Party Pocket Card
by Anne Thompson

Here's a pocket card with a panel insert that uses several coordinating papers from the new Garden Folly 6X6 paper pack PP1005 and stamps and their coordinating dies from the Peony Garden Corner clear stamps and dies set  CL5255-D.

IMG_2493-ink

To construct the pocket:

  • Start with a basic notecard 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.
  • On the front mark 1" in from the top left and up 1" from the bottom right.  Open the card flat and cut the diagonal line between the two points.

IMG_2480-ink
IMG_2480-ink

  • Discard the triangle slice.
  • The next step is to paper the inside of the notecard with a piece of decorative paper 4 X 5 1/4.
  • Then you can add adhesive to the inside of the card front on the 1" piece at the top, along the bottom edge, and up the other 1" side.  I used really narrow Scor-Tape.

IMG_2482-ink

  • Remove the adhesive tape backing and press it against the inside of the card to seal it and create the pocket.
  • Add a coordinating piece of decorative paper to the front.  I began with a piece 4 X 5 1/4, measured in 3/4" from the top left edge and up 3/4" from the bottom right corner, then cut the diagonal line between the two points.

IMG_2484-ink

To create the panel that tucks into the pocket:

  • Start with a piece of white cardstock cut 3 X 4 1/2.
  • Add another coordinating decorative paper piece cut 2 3/4 X 4 1/4.

IMG_2485-ink

Stamping and die cutting:

  • I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne (black) ink and stamped directly onto the insert panel, a butterfly and three blossoms and "THANK YOU" from the Peony Garden Corner set.
  • I also stamped another butterfly and three blossoms on white cardstock and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
  • I used glue dots to adhere the die cuts to the front of the card pocket.

IMG_2493-ink

Once the panel is tucked into the pocket, only the butterfly is visible.  There is plenty of room on the back of the panel to add a note.

When I'm stamping on a card, I often use the same images on the envelope to hint at the contents within.  So I did that as well.

IMG_2496-ink

I hope you are getting some crafting time in and have been able to secure some of the newest goodies.  This Garden Party Collection is absolutely lovely!

Happy Crafting!

Layer a trio of Rose Blossoms on a Diagonal Strip Collage background of blended inks.  Add a thoughtful greeting from the Peony Garden Corner Clear Stamps and Dies set to remind someone how wonderful they are.  Hello and happy weekend - Jean Okimoto here with a flowery Garden Party Collection card for you.

An ink-blended strip of cardstock from my stash peeks through the new Diagonal Stripe Collage.  It's a great die for backgrounds throughout the year - beachy blues for the summer, warm earthtones for fall and icy winter pastels for the holidays.  Use it for pressure-embossing - or to diecut a cool stencil too.

Cut white cardstock with the 4-¼" x 5-½" Rectangle Basics die.  Cut it with the Diagonal Stripe Collage.  Stamp the greeting - from the Peony Garden Corner Clear Stamps and Dies set - with Verdant VersaFine Clair.  Quickly heat-emboss it with detail clear powder.

Attach the inked strip behind the cutout.  Attach the rectangle to a top-folded white A2 card.

Spritz the smoother side of Open Studio Watercolor Paper with a very light mist of water.  Ink it with blended, overlapping layers of worn lipstick and picked raspberry Distress Oxides.  Dry the inks, then cut three 3 each of the Rose Blossom backgrounds and detailed overlay.  Assemble the blossoms and highlight the centers with squeezed lemonade Distress Oxide.

Cut two Scribble Leafy Branch Backgrounds from green cardstock.  Assemble the card and accent the blossoms with Orange Sherbert Open Studio Glitter Glue.  Add ¼" punched circles of the light pink glitter cardstock from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad.

Working on another class cards kit - GARDEN PARTY GREETINGS.  Flowery, pretty, layered designs in fresh pastels and bright summer hues featuring my new favorite designs from the Garden Party 2020 Collection of Memory Box and Poppystamps.

Thanks for stopping by...have a safe and happy weekend!

Birthday Hugs
by Michelle Bala

20

Hello crafters! Michelle here, sharing a birthday card I created using some of the newest dies from the 2020 Garden Party Release.  The Tall Birthday Candles are amazing and so much fun to play with! Think of the possibilities...mixing colors and pattern papers! For my candles, I used the Delicate Pastel Glitter Paper Pad and inked up some cardstock with distress oxide inks. I used shades squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry, cracked pistachio and dried marigold.

58

These are the supplies used. All links will be at the bottom of the post.

20

I inked up my background card base with squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink than added some white paint splatters.  I die cut the Clementine Border two times and adhered them to the card base.  Next, I die cut Birthday Cursive Script Die three times and adhered them together, layered. Die cutting the birthday sentiment once is sufficient, but I used a cardstock that was not too sturdy so I chose to layer it a few times.  I embossed the 'hugs' sentiment from the stamp set Sunflower Wreath Clear Stamp.

The final step was assembling the card. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy your weekend!!!
