Glittery Small Clutch of Eggs in a Glittery Twiggy Nest on Floral Papers
by Anne Thompson

The last few days we have seen warm weather, sunshine, a polar vortex snowstorm, and heavy winds.  In spite of these extremes, there has been a lot of activity at the bird feeders and in the house.  Dad (97) built and painted two more birdhouses and Mom (91) has been watching the orange marmalade feeder for the return of the Baltimore orioles who always show up on Mother's Day or a few days before.  I've been leaving nesting materials outside--bits of twine and the snippings from giving Mom a haircut.  So with all three of us focusing on birds I thought it appropriate to make a spring card featuring a nest with a clutch of eggs.

I used a nice pink cardstock to make the card base and papered the front and the two inside panels with prints from the COTTAGE MEADOW PP1003 6X6 paper pad.

I chose pink and pale green glitter papers from the DELICATE PASTEL GLITTER PAD GP1001 for die cutting the TWIGGY NEST 94424 and the SMALL CLUTCH OF EGGS 94456.

I placed the nest on the card front using glue dots to secure it and the eggs in place.

I added a white cardstock panel over the darker printed paper on the inside and put three more eggs in the lower right corner.

The only thing left to do is to stamp an appropriate sentiment once I know where the card is going and for what occasion.

I love the way the die cut nest and its eggs work against the floral paper.

It won't be long before our birdhouses all have residents sitting on nests filled with eggs.  Happy spring!

As businesses begin to reopen, wear your mask, practice social distancing, and stay safe.  I'm still planning to stay home as much as possible, avoid the big box stores, and wait for my online orders to arrive.

Happy Crafting!
