Faux Cover Die by Trina Pham
Hello there! I am sharing a quick and easy card today inspired by cover dies. I wanted to create the look of a cover die using regular dies. I chose the Verdant Leaf die for my card, but many of the Memory Box dies (or even dies in your stash) would work beautifully.
Started off by die cutting a whole bunch of the leaf from Bristol paper and adhering them to a vellum panel. A frame was then die cut with rectangle dies from Bristol paper and affixed on top, hence, completing the faux cover die.
To complete the card, the Hello Banner Script was die cut from Bristol paper and ombré coloured with Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky distress oxide inks using blender brushes. For some sparkle (love my sparkle), it was inked with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder. To make it stand out even more, hello was die cut from black cardstock and offset slightly. Finished by white heat embossing the sentiment from Friendship Floral Heart stamp set on a black strip.
Well, that does it for today. So glad you dropped by. Have a wonderful weekend.

Such a great idea to create your own cover die! I must try that! Love the leaves you used and the use of vellum. I'm glad you let it stand alone with just the sentiment so that the work of creating it takes centre stage!
