Greetings friends. I am continuing my striped theme with my latest card. Once I glued my pink/red strips to another piece of cardstock, I ran the paper through my die cut machine with a heart die to cut out a heart window. The die has faux stitching around the edges that adds a nice embellished element to the card.
Next, I stamped my flower onto XPress It Copic paper using Black Memento ink. I colored the flower with several red markers (R22, R32, and R39) and the leaves with green markers (G14 and G19).
I don't know about you, but I am not very good about fussy cutting around an image, but I am not the best at it. Here is what my image looked like:
I definitely didn't want to cut deep into the leaf areas. Who has time for that? One of the things I like to do is color the white areas with a grey marker so that it isn't quite as noticeable. Here is a close up after I colored it with the grey marker:
It is a subtle difference, but it helps "cover" the areas that weren't cut out very well.
To finish the card, I popped up my flower and added a few rhinestones to the center.
Have a great weekend!
