Memory Box Happy Heart Dies & Floral Bouquet Heart
by Vicki Finger

Hello Everyone!  Vicki here with you today! Thanks so much for stopping by to see my project.  The last few weeks have been wild and wacky around here so I needed some creative time pretty badly! We lost my Mother in law unexpectedly last week and had to return to Kansas after we'd just gotten home from Christmas there.  In less than two weeks, we drove 2200+ miles so I just wanted to sit down and make something pretty.  I needed a special card for one of our nieces who sang a solo for her grandmother's funeral and so I got to use pretty pinks and golds to pull this card together.

In the most recent Valentine's Collection from last month, there are two styles of hearts that coordinate with the other hearts in this collection.  There are Happy Hearts, which is taller and more elongated while Loving Hearts are shorter and squattier and adds a pretty scalloped detail around the opening.  The choice of hearts for the exterior depends on which heart you choose for the interior.

In this case, I die cut the Happy Heart largest die which leaves a cutout with stitching all the way around.  I cut the same heart from a scrap of Cream, White and Gold Striped paper to go behind the focal image heart, Floral Bouquet Heart which I die cut from Gold Foiled Cardstock. The gold in the focal image matches the background paper perfectly.

I am pretty frugal with my scraps and keep them if they are big enough to cut anything out of such as a shape or letter or what have you.  This is one of those scraps.

This card is really straightforward, clean in style and easy to replicate.  I don't always have time to do something elaborate.  I felt like the die-cut Love Airy Script needed a little sprucing up, so I attached some Gold Foiled Hearts around the image to tie it all together.  Before then, it just kind of faded into the background.  I made a card very similar to this for my niece, but I forgot to photograph it.

I have some amazing planned projects for you in the weeks to come now that the pace of my life is getting back to normal.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Don't forget to tag us on Social Media (#memoryboxco) if you try something in a similar design. We enjoy seeing your projects!

I am so sorry to hear your news. I can't imagine how you made anything after that but I am so glad you did. I hope you and your family can find some peace, rest and recovery now. Grief is so very painful but it does ease with care.

So sorry for your loss, it's never easy to deal with the passing of loved ones.

So sorry to hear your sad news!
The card for your niece is beautiful
and, no doubt, needed therapy.

That floral heart is gorgeous. Beautiful card. Hugz

So sorry for your loss. It is so good that your family was able to have a nice Christmas visit even though you had to make a long trip soon after.

Your card is lovely!
