3D Poinsettia Embossing on Vellum
by Angie Cimbalo

Close WM

Hello and welcome! I have a Christmas card for you today using a vellum dry embossed poinsettia from Memory Box. I used the 3D Magnificent Poinsettia embossing folder on a piece of vellum and then rubbed Fire Brick Distress Ink directly onto the embossed vellum. After drying it with my heat tool, I fussy cut it out and adhered it to a rectangle die.

I matted the white rectangle on red card stock and then onto a white card base. The sentiment is from Memory Box Signature Greetings, stamped and heat embossed in white and the die cut with the coordinating die. Here's one last look at my card:

I hope you like my card for today. I really love how the vellum poinsettia turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Male Birthday Mail
by Anne Thompson

Today I made more guy cards, this time specifically for birthdays...Male Birthday Mail!

IMG_3188-ink

Materials Used

to make this card

  • cut the plaid paper to cover the front of the notecard
  • cut a smaller piece of red cardstock to use as a mat and add it to the front of the card
  • emboss the Toolshed image onto the cream woodgrain paper
  • lightly drag the ink pad over the top of the embossed image to add a bit of color to highlight the tools
  • trim this embossed image down to fit on the mat, leaving a narrow edge of the red exposed
  • cut the Birthday Mail background from a scrap of the red cardstock and the detailed letters from a scrap of the plaid...I found it helpful to add Scor-Tape on the back of the plaid paper to make it easier to place those letters on the background piece.
  • adhere the sentiment to the card front and add a tiny gem to dot the i

Here are the three cards I made...one using the cream woodgrain paper (shown above), one using the KRAFT WOODGRAIN PAPER SH44003, and one using the WHITE WOODGRAIN PAPER SH44002.

IMG_3186-ink

For the kraft paper card I used a larger piece of the woodgrain paper to cover the card front as well as embossing another piece with the toolshed folder.  I also used a brown cardstock from the EARTH NEUTRAL COLLECTION SP1009 as a mat for the embossed image and for the Birthday Mail background.

IMG_3192-ink

I love the texture of the woodgrain papers and the way the woodgrain highlights embossed images especially when I use ink direct-to-paper on the embossing.  Cool!

Happy Crafting!

Tropical Centerpiece
by Michelle Bala

19

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a card I created inspired by some images I googled. I was looking for a giant shell with flowers in the center as a centerpiece. I found some great inspiration! The Grand Tulip Shell was the perfect base. Memory Box has an abundance of flower dies and the newest Under the Sea Release has coral and sea grass!!

17

I die cut all the images using Open Studio Watercolor Paper and inked them up with distress oxide inks.

Grand Tulip Shell Die/ tattered rose, dried marigold, victorian velvet, worn lipstick

Layered Fresh Flowers Die/ pink- picked raspberry and spun sugar, orange- rusty hinge and fossilized amber/ centers- evergreen bough

Forest Pine Branch Die/ crushed olive and evergreen bough

Coral and Kelp Ribbon Die/ coral- salvaged patina and peacock feathers; kelp- twisted citron and rustic wilderness

Thank You Posh Script Die/ salvaged patina and peacock feathers

The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps, Whittle Sealife Sentiments

18

After I assembled the seashell and florals I added some white paint splatter. Both cream and kraft paper are the newest Woodgrain Paper Packs. I die cut the top panel using Wrapped Stitch Rectangles Die. For a finishing touch I scattered some Bright Jewels Gems.

Thanks for stopping by!

Be Mine
by Michelle Bala

36

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a simple design for Valentine's Day that can be given to a male or female.

I used the Crystal Heart Die, Double Stitch Loving Heart Cut Out Die, Big and Little Valentines Clear Stamp, Holiday Glitter Pad and Polished Foil Pad.

31

I die cut the Crystal Heart two times. Once each using glitter and foil paper in the champagne shade. I glued the foil heart on top of the glitter heart.
31

I adhered the layered Crystal Heart onto a piece of foam tape. I used a foam sheet for this step.  I added the geometric shapes back into the Crystal Heart, alternating between glitter and foil. Than I trimmed the excess foam sheet.

33
33
33

The next steps are shown above. I trimmed a piece of gray cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I die cut the window using the Double Stitch Loving Heart Die. Stamp the sentiment. Turn the panel over and add foam adhesive. Adhere the gray panel onto a white card base.

37

Last, peel off the back of the foam sheet from the Crystal Heart and adhere the heart in the center of the heart window.

What do you think? I hope you liked it!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Big Hugs Slimline Valentine Card
by Michelle Bala

21

Hello! Michelle here. Welcome back to Day 5 of our Valentine Blitz and giveaway! I'm sure you have been enjoying the newest Valentine supplies!!! Toady I am showcasing a mix of new and old.

First, I used the new Slim Pinpoint Heart Plate to emboss and die cut the long panel.  I used a light pink cardstock. I adhered the panel to my card base.

20

Next, I used the new Woodgrain Heart Die and die cut a heart from kraft paper.  I used two previously released dies, Bountiful Wreath Die and Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs Die, and die cut some branches as a filler behind the heart. I used aqua and lime green cardstock and Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad to die cut the branches.  I adhered the heart and branches to the card base with foam tape.

22

Last, I die cut the new sentiment, Big Hugs Posh Script. I used Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad for the script die and black cardstock for the shadow die.  I layered a piece of silver thread between the heart and sentiment before adhering.  For a finishing touch I splattered some white paint and I scattered some gems.

Would you like a chance to win the new WOODGRAIN HEART DIE? Just leave a comment here before 11:59 PM EST on Sunday, January 10th for a chance to win. One comment will be selected at random to win the die, and all winners will be posted on the blog  Monday, January 11th at 5pm EST.

Let it Snow
by Michelle Bala

5

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a winter scene. I used a few dies to create this scene: Wooded Glen Collage Die, Snowglobe Backer Die, Wrapped Stitch Rectangles Die, and Spirit of Christmas Stamp Set.

4

These are the steps I followed:

Trim card base to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and ink up the base with broken china, salty ocean and blue print sketch distress oxide inks.

Next, secure the stitch rectangle die to a piece of white cardstock.  Place the wooded glen collage die in the center of the stitch rectangle die and secure. Run through your die cutting machine. Die cut the tree tops seperately. Die cut the deer.

I used Copic Markers to color the trees and deer. I used shades E41, E42, E43, E44, E49; G40, G43, G46, G99.

I adhered the tree tops to the tree trunks.  Stamp the sentiment with black ink. Than adhere the die cut stitch rectangle panel to the card base with foam tape.

I splattered some white paint over the card base. Allow to dry than adhere the deer. For a finishing touch I scattered some sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

Quiet Winter Wishes by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxPinpointSnowflakePlate, MemoryBoxKnottedDiamondBackground, MemoryBoxCircleBasics, MemoryBoxHolidayGlitterPad, MemoryBoxStitchedBurst, MemoryBoxSpiritOfChristmasClearStampAndDieSet, JeanOkimoto, StitchedCards, HolidayCards, HolidayDiecuts, ImpressCardsAndCrafts, StampsAndMemoriesHawaii

It's a very different Christmas this year - winter pastels and muted textures somehow seem so right for 2020.  Hi everyone - Jean Okimoto here with my last Christmas design of the season.  We're looking forward to sharing our Valentine 2021 designs with you soon! MemoryBoxCircleBasics, MemoryBoxStitchedBurst, StitchedCards, JeanOkimoto, HolidayDiecuts

Cut light gray cardstock with the 3" Circle Basics die.  Prep the Stitched Burst die by rubbing it briskly with scrunched waxed paper to help remove the tiny dots.  Cut the circle with Stitched Burst.  Use Scotch Transparent Tape to attach pink floss to the backside of the diecut.  Begin at an outer point, skip over 4 points and stitch through the 5th point.  Repeat around the circle.

MemoryBoxCircleBasics, MemoryBoxStitchedBurst, StitchedCards, MemoryBoxCo, JeanOkimoto, HandmadeHolidayCardsSew a stitch from the second hole to the bottom of each row of dots.  Tape the floss to the backside and trim off the excess.

Use pink sparkly yarn for the final stitching - from one outer point to the outer point on the opposite side.

Cut Knotted Diamond Background from light gray cardstock - leave everything in the die.  Attach strips of tape across the back of the diecut to keep the pieces intact.

Cut light gray cardstock with Pinpoint Snowflake Plate.  Trim it to 2-½" wide. Attach the background panels and Stitched Burst to a pink A-6 card - use foam tape to attach the Stitched Burst.

Prep pink cardstock with the embossing powder tool to eliminate stray specks of embossing powder.  Stamp the greeting - from the Spirit of Christmas Clear Stamp and Die set  -  with VersaMark.  Heat-emboss it with detail silver powder.  Trim it and attach it with foamdots.

Punch ¼" dots of the silver sheet in the Holiday Glitter Pad.

This design works for birthdays and other celebrations too - hope you'll try this stitched pattern.  Stitching can be very relaxing, productive and therapeutic...really!

Thanks for visiting - have a safe, healthy and happy holiday!

Christmas Pattern Random Embossing
by Michelle Bala

15

Hello there! Michelle here, sharing a couple of embossed cards. I used the stamp set, Spirit of Christmas. For the red card I used the holly branch stamp. For the teal card I used the poinsettia stamp. I stamped the panels randomly and embossed the red card with white embossing powder, and the teal card with gold embossing powder.

16

I followed the same process on both cards.

After I embossed the patterns I die cut the panels with Wrapped Stitch Rectangles Die, the second largest die. From the same cardstock I also die cut a base panel with the largest die. I adhered the large die cut panel to the card base than adhered the embossed die cut panel with foam tape.

19

I die cut two sentiments, Peace Airy Script, and Merry Airy Script. I used the Holiday Glitter Pad. For a finishing touch I scattered some gems on both cards.

Thanks for taking a peek!
