Mistletoe Swag
by Trina Pham

Hello there.  Today is going to be a quick post since the Christmas card I’m sharing is super easy.

Started by watercoloring the stripe background on watercolor paper alternating between Shaded Lilac and Salty Ocean distress inks.  Used a heat tool to speed up the drying process.  Spritz with a Sparkle spray for some shimmer, then splattered with white gouache paint.  Set aside to dry.

In the meantime, the mistletoe from Mistletoe Swag was white heat embossed on vellum then fussy cut out.  The Christmas sentiment from the same set was white heat embossed on black. The Wishes Jotted script sentiment was die cut from black foil paper and its shadow from white.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, and added clear glitter drops on the berries to finish.

Attaching the vellum mistletoe without the adhesive showing was a bit tricky, but a matte liquid glue applied behind the embossed lines worked just fine.  I think vellum is so pretty and makes it so easy to create beautiful cards. Instead of creating your own background you could use pattern paper.  And that's it from me.  Thank you for visiting.  Enjoy the rest of your week.

quite pretty!

LOVE it!!! Fabulous use of the Mistletoe stamp and the sparkling on the berries is a delight!! Love the colours blending and the big black&white sentiment!
Thanks so much for the trick about gluing!!!

Super card and great background!
I love the vellum mistletoe!

Gorgeous Trina, love the softness of the velum and your amazing fussy cutting :)

Your card is beautiful. Why is there no die?!?
Especially since there is an opportunity for layers?
So pretty💖

Trina this is such a beautiful card. The background colours are so pretty and the heat embossed mistletoe swag is stunning on the vellum.I love it x.

Love the way the background colours come through the vellum! Also the beautiful sparkle on the berries!

great background and love the work on this lovely card TFS

WOW! Gorgeous Christmas card using vellum, Trina. Great fussy cutting ... your mistletoe swag looks amazing over your watercoloured background.

What a beautiful way to use this stamp, Trina! I love the dreamy look of the embossed vellum and the contrast with using the black with the sentiments!

This is so beautiful, Trina! Watercolor stripes background is fresh and the shimmer from the sparkle spray must be prettier in the real life.
The vellum mistletoe is elegant and makes a perfect backdrop for the wonderful sentiments. The clear drop berries add even more shininess to the card.
