Sunflowers are happy flowers...and a glittered beautifully-detailed Brilliant Sunflower sparkles on a watercolored background. Add a color-matched greeting from the Rose Bouquet Clear Stamps Set - and brighten someone's day.
Hello and Happy Friday - Jean Okimoto here with some August Challenge inspiration. The new Challenge theme is "Some Like It Hot" - featuring warm reds, oranges and/or yellows on your entry.
Spritz a 5" square of watercolor paper with a light mist of water. Roll a 4" soft rubber brayer over a Melon Melody Kaleidacolor inkpad to ink it completely - lift and roll it about 15-20 times for good coverage. Spritz the inked brayer with water, then roll the colors onto the moist watercolor paper. Set it aside to air-dry for a few minutes.
Spritz it again to create some ink variations. Dry it with a heat-tool. Cut it with the 3-¼" Circle Basics die.
Cut Brilliant Sunflower and two leaves from green cardstock. Attach Scor-Tape to yellow cardstock. Cut it - with the tape on the top - with the solid sunflower die.
Attach the adhesive-topped yellow sunflower behind the detailed green sunflower. Brush iridescent glitter over the exposed adhesive. I like to use Impress Sparkle Glitter - it makes everything look pretty.
Cut three ¾" circles from scraps of the watercolored paper.
Stamp the greeting - from the Rose Bouquet Clear Stamp Set - on smooth white cardstock with VersaMark. Emboss it with detail clear powder. Here's a tip I've shared in classes - start the embossing process by heating the backside of the cardstock for a few seconds, then finish it from the front for a nice glossy finish. Set it aside to cool.
Sponge it with the 2nd green ink of the Melon Melody inkpad. Gently buff the excess ink from the embossing with a soft tissue. Trim it to resemble a label-maker greeting.
Attach everything to a side-folded white textured A-2 card - use foam dots for the greeting. Attach yellow gem stickers.
Enjoy the sun...but save some time to make a few summer-y cards with the flowers and butterflies from Memory Box. They play well together...and the details are amazing!
Thanks for visiting...see you again on Saturday!

The colors in his card are wonderful and such a nice change from the different shades I’ve been using lately for Christmas cards. Thank you for the technique and the inspiration, Jean! See you soon.
