"sending oceans of love" with the Seashell Circle Frame
by Anne Thompson

It's me again this week with another card that uses alcohol pearl inks to create a background, this time for the Seashell Circle Frame.

materials used:

  • Key Lime  top-fold notecard
  • blue-dotted lime paper
  • white cardstock
  • Ranger Alcohol Ink cardstock
  • Ranger Alcohol Pearl Inks--Tranquil (blue) and Sublime (green)
  • Ranger Alcohol Blending Solution
  • SEASHELL CIRCLE FRAME 94225
  • "sending oceans of love" from the OCEANSIDE TYPEWRITER SENTIMENTS Clear Stamps Set CL5240
  • Hero Arts inks--Green Hills and Tide Pool
  • a plain circle die, straw, waterbrush, glue pen, Scor-Tape, pop dots, blue and green gemstones

  • On a piece of the Alcohol Ink Cardstock, add drops of the Alcohol Pearl inks and then drops of the Blending Solution.
  • Use the straw to blow the inks around.  Continue adding inks and blending solution, blowing the inks around, until you like what you've got.
  • Spatter the paper with a paintbrush soaked in Blending Solution.
  • Use a circle die a bit larger than the center of the Seashell Circle Frame to cut this inky paper once it's dry.

  • Die cut the SEASHELL CIRCLE FRAME 94225 from white cardstock.
  • Using a water brush, add some of the Green Hills ink to the seaweed fronds and the outer circle of the die cut.  Add more of the Green Hills ink to the outer circle using the ink pad directly onto the paper.
  • Edge the three shells with more of the Green Hills ink directly onto the paper.
  • Use a glue pen to anchor the inner circle of the frame to the circular inky piece.
  • Put Scor-Tape on the back of that inky circle and adhere the piece to the front of the notecard which has been covered with the dotted paper.
  • Pop the three shells up in the center of the circle and add a few blue and green gemstones.

That finishes the front of the notecard.  Let's look at what I did on the inside.

  • Die cut a smaller circle from the dotted paper.  Here I used a die from the WRAPPED CIRCLES set 30114.
  • Die cut the center shells from the Seashell Circle Frame using a scrap of white cardstock.
  • Edge the shells with the Green Hills ink, direct to the paper images.
  • Glue the two smallest shells onto the circle and add some blue gemstones.
  • Stamp "sending oceans of love" from the Oceanside Typewriter Sentiments stamps set using the Tide Pool ink.
  • Add the third shell just above that.

Such a fabulous background for this beautiful frame die. Love it!
