Alcohol Ink Scraps and Diecutting
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends.  I hope you have been enjoying the blog blitz so far.  For today's card, I wanted talk about using up your scrap paper by diecutting with them.  In particular, I like to diecut backgrounds that didn't turn out exactly as planned.

For this particular card, I started with an alcohol ink background:

To create the background, I dropped some Copic ink refills onto some Yupo synthetic paper and spritzed the whole thing with some alcohol ink to blend the colors.  The background itself isn't bad, but I wasn't really happy with how much all of the different colors blended into each other.  It ended up being practically one color of blue (even though I used about four different colors).  It didn't turn out how I wanted, but it is a perfect background to choose my favorite bits and diecut them for cards.

After I diecut my background, I assembled it with the rest of the Daisy Flower Frame:

I love your colourful card Laura, thanks for the chance to win this wonderful frame : )

Beautiful palette on this card. It's always great when we can repurpose our creations. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

I like the contrast between the dark background and the lightness of the Daisy Frame, so pretty.

Lovely Card!

This is so sweet! I love the colors!!! Thanks so much for the chance to win.

Beautifully created card with all that wonderful inky background!!

Lovely card using the unique daisy frame die. I think I need to have one!

Great idea to use the bits you like best or scraps. Not everything turns out quite as we want, especially with new techniques. Love the die and what you've done with it.

Love this Daisy Flower Frame! Beautiful card!

Laura what a cheerful daisy hello! Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Beautiful background Laura - you always have something nice to share - Thank you

Love the card. Beautiful die. A must have.

Beautiful card with another gorgeous product!!! Love the daisy frame and your fun background!!

Your inky blue background looks perfect on your card. The lovely daisy die really stands out against it.

So glad you didn't "scrap" this background to the garbage, it fits perfectly with your collage and the daisies really pop!

This is such a pretty, delicate frame! Love the background too!

Me encanta como luce la tarjeta.

A wonderful cheery card sure to brighten someone's day.

So pretty! Love the blue & yellow color combo. Such a lovely flower frame.

I love trying new techniques and one of the best things I've done is start a folder for those projects. Now, when I want to make a card, I often go right to my "backgrounds" folder. In fact, it was getting so full that I finally divided the contents into scraps, and pieces that would cover an A2 card.

This daisy frame would go with so many of my pieces. Thanks for a fun card.

Oh, I love the card and daisy frame. Both winners!

Darn cute, love alcohol BG, Breathtaking!

Love the Daisy Flower Frame die!! And I can't stop buying word dies like the "hello" - even if I already have several of the same word! Must have all styles and sizes!! :) :)

Great use of a background that didnt turn out quite how you wanted! The daisy frame die is very pretty.

Blue and yellow are my favorite colors of fabric for making a quilt. Your card design is beautiful with the same colors.
