Hello everyone!

Today I have a card for you that follows this month's CAS challenge theme.  It also includes a fun technique!

I saw a technique on Jennifer McGuire's blog using embossing folders with alcohol inked background papers.  It is so much fun to make backgrounds to have on hand for future projects. (for the background I used for this card, I followed Jennifer McGuire's video using the Pearl Alcohol inks)

I used my die to dry emboss the alcohol ink background that was done on Yupo Paper.  You use your die with the embossing mat for your die cut machine, so instead of cutting the paper with the die, it embosses it.  Each machine is different so just follow the instructions for the embossing sandwich you will use. (there are many videos on YouTube on dry embossing with your dies).

Once I embossed my image, I took a sanding block and lightly sanded the raised image.  The ink stays on top of the Yupo Paper and can easily be sanded away revealing the white paper.  Tip: I did put the inked side of my paper facing upward when I ran it through my die cut machine because I wanted the flower outline to be raised.  I hand cut around the outside of the circle frame because the die only embossed the image, not cut it.

I die cut the image again from white cardstock and only used the circle frame portion of the die.  I glued that on top of my embossed piece.

Using the extra piece of alcohol inked paper that was left over from my embossed image I die cut the shadow piece from the Happy Jotted Script die.  The script was die cut from white cardstock and glued onto the shadow piece.

I spattered a white cardstock layer with gold ink and glued this to an orange cardstock mat.  This was adhered to a white cardbase using foam tape.

To finish the card I used foam tape to adhere the circle frame to the card front and glued the word happy to the circle.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Thank you for very clear instructions. The card is so beautiful, and artsy! Yupo, alcohol pearlized inks, beautiful die! Dynamite!
Thank you for the greeting today! I love it!
