Watercolor Hearts
by Laura Fulcher

Greetings friends.  Today I felt like working with watercolors and some of the new Memory Box dies.  First, I took some 140lb watercolor paper and gently used a pencil to mark where my hearts were going to go.  I wanted to have some idea of where to color some dark orange paint.

Next, I used some Zig Clean Color brush markers to add some orange and yellow color around the hearts:

I used my brush markers because I wanted to have some control of where the color would go on the card.  I then needed to soften the colors and have them fade out to white, so I used a waterbrush and some light yellow watercolor paint to soften all of my edges.

For the hearts, I diecut the outlines out of black cardstock and the centers of the hearts using more of the watercolor paper.  I colored the hearts with another Zig marker and a waterbrush and then glued the hearts and outlines to the cards.  As a finishing touch, I splattered some dark pink watercolor paint onto the card.  The final step was to emboss my sentiment in white and to pop it up onto the card with some foam tape.  Here is a closeup:

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Gorgeous! I love the soft watercoloring- and you could use any sentiment and make a great gift set of cards!

So beautiful - love love that background TFS

I think this is sooo pretty! Love the yellows, pinks & orange together.

Pretty color combo! Love the heart dies!

I like the vibrant background for these cute hearts.

More great dies!! Heart dies are almost as much of a weakness with me as snowflake dies... and I can never get enough of those. :) :)

Thanks for the watercolor directions.

Straight forward and effective with a lovely combination of colors.

Que lindo el color naranja combina con el suave color amarillo está linda la tarjeta.

Unique, beautiful & artsy!
