Create a row of happy hearts for someone special with the Have a Heart Clear Stamps and Dies.  Add a greeting with Sending Jotted Script and Best Life Typewriter Sentiments, then bling it with a glittery red heart and pale gold sequins .

Hi there, Jean Okimoto here with another Valentine design for you.  Here's a basic design that works in other colors too - try pale pink, fuchsia, peach or coral.  Or a combination of those pretty colors!

MemoryBoxHaveAHeartClearStamps-MemoryBoxHaveAHeartCraftDies-MemoryBoxRectangleBasics-MemoryBoxSendingJottedScript-MemoryBoxBestLifeClearStamps-JeanOkimoto-VersaFineClair-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsAndCrafts-ValentineDiecuts-HeartDiecuts-HeartCards

Diecut two sets of the double-hearts from red cardstock.   Stamp the small solid heart from the Have a Heart set with Lightning Black Brilliance.  Stamp the small heavy-bordered heart with Nocturne VersaFine Clair.

Stamp the other hearts with Nocturne, dry the ink, then cut them with the coordinating Have a Heart dies.

Stamp "sending hugs" from the Best Life Typewriter Sentiments set with Nocturne.  Dry the ink, then diecut around the "hugs" section.  Cut a black cardstock heart with the slightly larger die.

Cut Sending Jotted Script from black and white cardstock.  Leave the tiny black dot over the "i" in the die till you're ready to attach it.  It has a tendency to vanish.

Cut a white cardstock background with the 5" x 3-¾" Rectangle Basics die.  Cut a heart from red glittered craft foam.

Attach the diecuts to a white 4-½" x 6-¼" card.  Add pale gold sequins.

Double Embossing with Dies
by Trina Pham

Hi there!  This is Trina and I am back to share another CAS card using the Bright Hearts die from the Valentine’s Collection and a die technique I’ve had on my to-try-list for probably over two years.  😂   Better late than never, right?  I’ve seen it done throughout blogland, but I believe it originated from Jennifer McGuire.  Here’s my card.

5CFB5E98-8E8C-406C-8E02-EA07C0D915AF

This is a super easy technique combining both dry and heat embossing with dies.  I found darker cardstock looked best.  Started by prepping the cardstock with an anti static bag and then setting it in my die cutting machine to be dry embossed.  Placed the die with the cutting edge facing up, then gently inked only the raised cutting edge with VersaMark.  Carefully picked up the die and flipped it onto the cardstock.  Ran it through the die cutting machine to dry emboss it, then added white embossing powder.

D4AC689E-D18E-4200-9A40-3D201E09C799

The embossing powder sticks to the VersaMark embossed lines.  Heat embossed to complete the technique.  Even after using the anti-static bag, I found the powder strayed quite a bit.  I simply used a small brush to remove them before applying the heat.

I wanted the image to stand out more, so I used a black Polychromos pencil to add some shading.  The sentiments from Best Life Typewriter stamp set were white heat embossed on hot pink cardstock and popped up with foam adhesive.  For some sparkle (wasn’t able to capture it in the photo), added clear shimmer to finish.

Essentially this is like “turning your dies into stamps” and is a great way to stretch your dies.  Thank you for stopping by.  Enjoy your day!

Love Card
by Isha Gupta

Hello and Welcome!  It's Isha today with a love card using the new release to share. This release has a fun mix of gorgeous dainty frame dies and words.  I used the Pantone 2019 color of the year: Coral for my card.

Isha_MB_Jan_Card3

I started by creating a white top fold square card. I then cut a white mat layer and sponged some distress oxide ink on it. Now I flicked some water and white paint for added dimension. Let this layer dry.

Die-cut the heart frame using white card stock and emboss it using gold glitter embossing powder. Die-cut a vellum circle of the same size as the heart frame and adhere it behind the frame. Adhere this piece to the mat layer.

Sponge the same distress oxide ink to a scrap piece of card stock and die-cut the outer layer of LOVE word. Die-cut the inner layer using white card stock and adhere this to the outer layer.

Stamp sentiment onto a stripe and assemble everything together.

Hope you got inspired by this card. Have a wonderful crafty day!

Snow Much Love
by Trina Pham

Hello there!  This is Trina.  Before I begin, I want to thank everyone who took the time to leave such encouraging comments here, on my blog and on my IG account for my first DT post.  Not sure if you could tell, but I was a little nervous and those comments brought a smile to my face!  So my card today honoured that.

Last year in September, I purchased the Snow Much Fun stamp set.  I think it’s just that - so much fun!  For some reason, it takes at least a month for my orders to arrive in Canada from this one US company.  This time, though, the waiting dragged to almost two months and then I received notification that my order had been returned because I had moved!  Huh, what?!?  (I may or may not have used more animated language here... just saying).  😂

0BAA0A26-A09C-4C6D-B708-2A6E401B3E70

Major postal service error since I never moved!  I ended up re-ordering it from a different US company, but that meant it would not arrive in time for the holiday season.  And rather than waiting till the end of this year, I used it to create this.

6819029B-F75F-428F-8765-0E01EEB45C29

Love must be in the air because these two are no longer throwing snowballs at each other and are quite smitten.  😉   Started off by stamping the bunny images on X-press It cardstock with Copic friendly black ink.  Coloured them with Copics then die cut out with the matching dies.  The heart framed fence from Neighborhoid Heart Frame was then die cut three times from white cardstock and stacked for dimension.  Adhered the bunnies behind the frame and trimmed off the overhangs.

ECA3D45B-7B46-4D92-9D3B-B6CC18955A5A

On a 4”x5.25”panel cut from mixed media paper, the sentiment from Best Life Typewriter was heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Next, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide inks were blended on with a mini blending tool.  The embossed sentiment resisted the ink.  Spritz it with a DIY shimmer spray created by mixing water with Perfect Pearls (couldn’t capture the shimmer in the photo).  Adhered the panel to a white card base and added a few sparkly clear sequins to finish.

I love stretching my supplies whever possible.  And the Neighborhoid Heart Frame set made this possible today.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful week.

Heart Board, Love Jotted Script and Bright Hearts by Jean Okimoto

MemoryBoxHeartBoard-MemoryBoxBrightHearts-MemoryBoxLoveJottedScript-MemoryBoxPinpointRectangleLayers-MemoryBox CozyMugs-JeanOkimoto-HeartDiecuts-ValentineCards-DiecutValentines-HeartDiecuts-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Watercolor a Pinpoint Rectangle Layer, add a light mist of gold spritz - then emboss it with Heart Board.  Add a Cozy Mug, glittered hearts and a bit of love with the layered Love Jotted Script.  Hi and happy weekend - Jean Okimoto here with a bright design to warm a cold winter day.

MemoryBoxHeartBoard-MemoryBoxBrightHearts-MemoryBoxLoveJottedScript-MemoryBoxPinpointRectangleLayers-MemoryBox CozyMugs-JeanOkimoto-HeartDiecuts-ValentineCards-DiecutValentines-HeartDiecuts-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsAndCrafts

Press the Berry Blaze Kaleidacolor inkpad onto a large acrylic block.  Paint watercolor paper with random, diluted layers of the vibrant inks.  Air-dry it, then spritz it with water.  Spritz it again with a light mist of Imagine Crafts Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Heat-set it - heat it from both sides to  minimize curling.

Cut it with the 3-⅛" x 2-⅛" Pinpoint Rectangle Layer

Pressure-emboss it with the new Heart Board - use the plates and mats recommended by your machine's manufacturer.  Here's the sequence I used on my Platinum - platform, die face-up, watercolor paper face-down, tan rubber embossing mat, purple embossing plate.

Cut pink glittered cardstock with a large heart from Bright Hearts and one each of the hearts from the Heart Board.

Cut a Cozy Mug from printed paper.  I used a bright contemporary leaf pattern from Shizen Design.

Cut Love Jotted Script from a double layer of white cardstock and a portion of a Peony Notecard.

Attach the diecuts to a 5-¼" square white card - use slivers of foam tape for the handle.

It's easy to overlook pressure-embossing with our stash of Memory Box dies.  The dies - personally designed by Dave Brethauer and made in the USA - create beautiful textured backgrounds and accents.  They're also great for simple cards - just emboss the front of the card, add a quick note and it's done!

Thanks for visiting - enjoy your weekend, see you again on Thursday...

Love You
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Friday! Today I have a card to share that is perfect for sending just to let someone know you love them. It doesn't matter the time of year!

IMG_9065

I started with the cute Bundle Hearts dies and cut them in a pink paper. I glued them to a white piece of paper and then using a ruler and a black pen, I sketched in the lines to create a grid around the hearts. Then I stamped the love you from the Best Life Typewriter Sentiments stamp set and added in some heart gems to finish it off.
IMG_9065

I love how the grid turned out, especially after I added in the gems, they really made it work. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by the blog!

Neighborhood Heart Frame and Best Life Typewriter Sentiments by Jean Okimoto

Add dimension with a pressure-embossed Neighborhood Heart Frame - then highlight it with diecut elements and a simple greeting.  Shiny bikes and sparkly hearts make it extra-bright!  Hi everyone, Jean Okimoto here with a versatile card for Valentine's Day -  or a special anniversary.

MemoryBoxNeighborhoodHeartFrame-MemoryBoxBestLifeTypewriterSentimentsClearStamps-JeanOkimoto-VersaMark-ImagineCrafts-ImpressCardsAndCrafts-ValentineCards-ValentineDiecuts-HeartCards-HeartDiecuts-BicycleDiecuts

Pressure-embossing is a great way to add a coordinating textured background for diecuts and greetings.  Use the plates and mats recommended for your machine.  Here's how I embossed the Neighborhood Heart Frame's square outer frame on my Platinum -

MemoryBoxNeighborhoodHeartFrame-ValentineDiecuts-JeanOkimoto

Begin with the die face-up on the platform.  Add the cardstock (cut to 4-¼" x 11") face-down. Use the rubber embossing mat and embossing plate instead of the cutting plates. Emboss along the right edge of the cardstock.  Score and fold the cardstock in half to create a side-folded A-2 card.

Cut the inner heart from white cardstock.

Cut two of the little balloon hearts from red glittered cardstock and trim the bottoms.

Attach black and red duct tape to lightweight cardstock or scrapbook paper and cut two bikes.  I ran ran the die through the machine several times to cut completely through the tape.  The tape adds a glossy enameled look and really stands out against the neutral Kraft and white backgrounds.

Prep black cardstock with embossing powder tool. Stamp the greeting from the   Best Life Typewriter Sentiments Clear Stamps with VersaMark.  Heat-emboss it with detail white powder.

Attach everything to the card -  use foam dots for the greeting.

Butterfly Heart Frame
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Wednesday friends! Today I have another fun die from the new release to share. I used the Butterfly Heart Frame to make a square card filled with bling.

IMG_9048

I die cut the frame in two different colors of purple paper. I then covered each piece with Clear Wink of Stella to create the glittery look on the paper. I pieced the hearts back together on the square card by alternating the purple colors.
IMG_9048

I finished it off with pearls in the centers of the biggest flowers. Since I cut it out in two colors I also had pieces to make a second card in opposite colors. I love when you can make more than one card with the same supplies. Have a wonderful day!

Smile Card
by Isha Gupta

Hello and Welcome!  It's Isha today with a fun and fresh color themed square card using the ink sponging technique. I am really enjoying our new valentine collection. This die below is so delicate and pretty, don't you agree?

Isha_MB_Jan_Card2

I started by creating a white top fold square card. I then cut a white mat layer and sponged some distress oxide ink on it. Now I flicked some water and white paint for added dimension. Let this layer dry.

Die-cut the heart and butterfly using white cardstock. Add some glitter embossing powder to the heart and emboss. Emboss the butterfly using teal and the center using black embossing powder.

Assemble everything together. Finally, to finish stamp the sentiment and adhere to the card.

Scrollwork Heart Circle Frame Valentines
by Anne Thompson

I recently made several valentines using the SCROLLWORK HEART CIRCLE FRAME die 94114, another of my favorite dies from the Valentine's Collection 2019.

94114

These cards became quite three-dimensional when I started adding paper flowers.  Guess these will have to go into the gift bags with valentine goodies rather than mailing them!

Card One:

IMG_1027 (1)

  • I began with a white side-folded notecard and covered the front with Memory Box Gingham paper.
  • I cut the Scrollwork Heart Circle Frame from white cardstock.
  • I used a glue pen to attach the heart circle first and then the pinpoint circle around it.
  • I added tiny pearls in the oval bases between the leaf shapes.
  • I then found a pink paper rose, some white stamens, and a pretty pink satin bow to add to the center of the circle.

IMG_1026

  • On the left panel inside the card I covered it with more of the gingham paper.  I used a glue pen to add the extra circle, one of the heart stems, and a single heart which all came from the Scrollwork Heart Circle Frame die cuts.
  • On the righthand panel I added a piece of decorative paper and stamped "Love" from the Birch Press Design SENDING LOVE CL8126 clear stamps set.

Card Two:

IMG_1031

  • I used a pale pink textured paper for the die cutting.
  • For this card I added miniature pink paper roses between each of the hearts in the circle and a cluster of three in the very center.
  • I then put tiny pearls in each of the hearts.

IMG_1032

  • On the left panel inside the card, you can see that I had some fun adding elements that cut from the die--the solid circle, both heart stems, and the six hearts.

Card Three:

IMG_1030

  • This time I made my card base from a textured pink paper and cut it  4 X 4 1/4.
  • I cut the die using a darker pink cardstock and placed the center heart circle on the front of the card.
  • I added some tiny pearls at the base of the design between each of the hearts, though they are hard to see because of so much foliage in the center.

IMG_1029

  • I added a rose print paper on the left panel and more of the gingham paper on the right.
  • To finish the inside I added the two heart stems in opposite corners.
  • This card could then be either a top-fold card or a side-fold card.

I love that the Scrollwork Heart Circle Frame gives me spaces to add some paper flowers.  I have soooo many in my stash!  And they are the perfect touch, along with the pearls, for really sweet valentines.

Happy Crafting!
